The main thing I was constantly thinking and took away from the epilogues, beyond any argument about the writing quality or characters, was just "This is absurdly unnecessary". It didn't need to be written, at all. It's been long enough since the end as we knew it that I had accepted it, that was the end of their adventures, they got their ending. Any mysteries left could be left unanswered and left to the imagination. Instead, it's just, excuses to explain things that didn't need explaining
Yeaahhhh. yeah, I agree with you. It’s uh, beating the dead horse so to speak? While it was enjoyable at some parts, it was mostly just......... Like you said. Unnecessary, and by virtue of that, it felt sort of mean to me. Like it was making fun of the vast amount of transformative work that had been done by fans in the meantime, after what we thought (understandably) was the Real Ending, flawed though it may have been.
