Handling a tool that could disable machines was always risky when you yourself were technically a machine too, albeit a far more advanced one. It just had to go wrong one day and today just so happened to be that day.

The eletrical impulses it was sending through his body were making him twitch and shake and he just barely managed to get a stack of boxes in between himself and the enemy sentry before he collapsed. No doubt the RED Engineer was quite happy about how this had backfired, than again he probably had never seen a Spy sap himself before....

“Don’ mean ta be a bother, but would ya mind if I borrowed yer workstation fer a bit? Movin’ lads have been faffin’ ‘round on my gear, so half my kit is still in transit, so I don’ got th’ proper tools yet.” The Medic poked his head into the Engineer’s workshop, a slender mechanical band in hand and a smile on his face.

*Xavier was only told, “protect yourself and kill others” before being dumped here. He knew nothing about colored sides or why the heck he was there but one thing is for sure, being tense and then walking into a sentry nest is a sure fire way into spooking him in punching the nearest guy in the face. If he hadn’t been wearing black that day he might’ve been targeted right after. Thankfully though, he wasn’t and so he was standing there feeling bad* ooh… sorry mate… I got startled…

“So uh.. do you guys do that cross faction campfire at the edge of base regularly?” Reagan was thinking back to that night he’d come along when several mercs from each team had had a little campfire with beer and snacks, realizing he was sorely missing having a beer with just a group of guys and shooting the shit. He’d remembered having a conversation with this particular Engineer so.. it was worth an ask.

“Hell--”o, Engie Jane had started to say as soon as the Engineer had rushed into view- only to be cut off but not bothered. He barely noticed when he greeted people anyway it was just impulse.

Taking in the other man, and his new friend, The Soldier sees no reason to panic. “Calm your horses down!” He demands, and then leans in real close to get a good look at the raccoon who’s teeth were dug straight through rubber into metal. Well and good stuck. “You are more scared of him than he is of you. He can sense that, and he will use your fear against you!” 

The Lieutenant just sits there dangling, thinking the raccoon equivalent of ‘What’s Up, i like to chew hands.’

“I’ve been waiting all year for sweater weather.” Engie said. He was almost drowning in an oversized knitted sweater, and looked extremely pleased to be wearing it.

“Sure looks like it. Looks cozy. Temperatures definitely are starting to drop, especially at night. I doubt I’m even gonna be able to get my nightly smoke on the roof in at this rate.” Tom grinned at the sight of the man in the sweater. He preferred hoodies, but could identify when the want for coziness.

“What do you think?” Medic peers out from behind the eyeball he holds in front of his face, smiling widely. He even shakes it around a little for extra added effect, tilting it this way and that to mimic eye movement. “Nothing screams Halloween quite like your eyeball hanging from its optic nerve!”
