Advance Search Engine Optimization Mastery Reflection Assignment
My goals for the Advance Search Engine Optimization class were to acquire expanded knowledge on how to strategically use Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and learn new trends on SEO and how to apply them to my current business and organization.
What I learned from this course is to understand pay-per-click advertising, how quality score can affect costs and rankings on a businesses website. Other lessons learned were strategies for researching and choosing effective keywords and how to gain an advantage on competitors.
I learned the importance on effective link-building campaigns, SEO techniques and understanding common errors in website architecture and ways to avoid being penalized by the Google Penguin.
I also learned the importance of a business not only being ranked high on the internet but also on local search engines. A business that is listed locally and ensure it has accurate information can be ranked high in Search Engine Research Pages (SERP).
The tools learned in this course enhanced my SEO skills and different strategies I can use to apply to my current business and organization. I am now able to analyze how a business is ranked in SEO, also how effective keywords are and if we have any backlinks that can cause our business’ website to be penalized or get a low quality score from Google.
Using tools like SEMrush, Alexa, Spyfu, and Moz, I am able to not only analyze our website, but also how the competitor is ranked and what works for them.
On my quest to achieve mastery I have learned many lessons and skills from this class to get me closer to mastery. In the book, Mastery by Robert Greene, one of the steps to achieving mastery is to widen our vision. This course has widened my vision and has shown me many tools and techniques to ensure the business and organization can achieve maximum SEO and keep the goal in mind to always be ranked high and avoid penalties.
