in the confrontation scene, when seungho is initially unable to believe seokryu has cancer, you can see the strength it takes for him to restrain his anger, the pauses and the sighs between his words obviously caused by the confusion and the denial and the hurt he's feeling at the moment and his voice almost breaks down but he's still trying to make sure he hears her out— waiting for her to reveal everything to him but she refuses to do so.

She refuses to accept the intensity of consequences of her actions on the people who love her and straight up avoids his questions and that is when seungho finally breaks when she refuses, even after everything is out in the open, to accept his solace. her denial to confide in him what is literally eating away at her, when all this while he's been telling her here's my heart and i give it to you while she can't even give him the truth.

I really hope that that the unrequited feelings will have been mutual at some point in time, because watching Seung Hyo struggle with them for over a decade is so brutal. I hope they both just missed the timing, rather than just a one-sided love for so long TT^TT

The way Seung-hyo smoothly lowers his sleeve and says "☝️😀 I have the same watch" makes me remember how in Cinderella (1950) when the slipper broke, the duke is crying over that broken slipper corpse and she has to prove she is the same girl that the prince danced with, she also smoothly says "☝️😀 you see, I have the other slipper"
