You knew Seonghwa was the one even before marrying him.
There was this nameless feeling in your chest that told you that you didn't have to give him your heart.
Because the moment your eyes landed on him in this café, your heart immediately chose him without even let you a chance to utter a single word.
Your previous relationship had caused you to have trust issues. Even when you'd started dating him.
Hence your shock when you realized how patient he was.
Anyone would be offended by your attitude and would point out that you were exaggerating things and that her previous relationship couldn't have gone that bad.
But there was none of this when it came to Seonghwa.
His understanding and warm eyes would just look at you with this familiar kindness that always made your heart ache. And he would just declare :
''It's okay, love. I understand. I'll wait for you.''
His soothing voice would always caught you off guard. Not because of how calm he sounded.
But because he genuiely looked sincere.
And that made you fall even more in love with him.
♡ ♡ ♡
For your honeymoon, you both decided to visit Paris.
You once told him that one of your dream was to dance with him in front of the sparkling Eiffel Tower with a romantic song in the background.
You thought it was just an anecdote, an irrelevant detail.
But you'd forgotten that Seonghwa remembers every details.
It would be an understatement to say that you were surprised, shocked, and deeply touched when you discovered the gleaming monument after Seonghwa lowered his hands from your eyes to surprise you.
And it didn't stop here.
Notes of a familiar song rose into the mild and ambient air of the night.
Why do birds suddenly appear
Everytime you are near ?
When you turned your head to face Seonghwa, his hand was outstretched towards you.
''Shall we dance ?''
You didn't hesitate.
His smile widened when you accepted his hand.
And then, everything vanished around you.
There were only him, you and the music.
And suddenly you were very aware of the warmth of his hand on your hip or the way his other hand would hold yours with a firm grip but with his thumb tracing patterns tenderly.
And his eyes...
Why do stars fall down from the sky
Every time you walk by ?
...would look at you like you were the universe itself.
His universe.
''Hwa...'' you murmured in disbelief at his painfullness beauty.
Your face was just a few inches from his.
Because he was painfully pretty in the way he was looking at you.
He was painfully pretty when you lips met.
He was painfully pretty when you heard him inhaled like his chest exploded in millions of butterflies.
And you painfully loved him.
♡ ♡ ♡
You'd definitely lost it when he decided to send you letters instead of emails because he forgot his phone here while being in a business trip.
When you thought your heart couldn't go crazier for him he always managed to prove you wrong.
Comfortably seated at your desk, you unfolded the delicately the paper.
''My dear love,
I'm doing really great here. Everything's going in my way. Remember when you told me not to worry about this new environment and I just nodded ? I wasn't worried for work. I was worried for you. And I'm still worried.
I am worried to let you sleep in this cold sheets alone without my arms wrapped around you to keep you warm. I know how hard it is for you to fall asleep sometimes. Do you sleep well ? Please tell me you don't feel cold. I bought a few blankets for you so can wrap yourself like a burrito until you feel like I'm hugging you.
How's work going for you, love ? I hope you don't overwork yourself. Unfortunately, I'm not here to make sure you're okay, or that your brain isn't on the edge of exploding, but if by any chance you need some support or that you don't feel well because your shitty boss doesn't acknowledge properly your efforts, please read this : don't forget that I'm really proud of you and what you've become, I'll always be here for you.
I can't wait to be back home in your arms.
I miss you.
With all my love,
- Seonghwa''
This was the fifth time you read this letter. And everytime your heart would hammered against your ribs faster than the previous time.
You sighed pressing the letter against your chest.

seonghwa:
seonghwa would be such an anxious dad at first. he'd be so worried about fucking it up that he'd ask a million questions to any experienced parent, doctor, or teacher he'd come across. and they found it endearing, how inquisitive he was, how eager to listen to their advice. he would read all the parenting books, watch mommy vlogs, soak up all the info he could.
but he wouldn't just be nervous – he'd be more excited than anything. he'd build the crib, and even decorate it with little knickknacks he'd been collecting (baby-safe, of course). he'd send you videos of cute baby moments, show you posts of cute outfits and unique toys you could buy to help with your child's brain development and motor skills.
he cuddles up behind you at night, your back pressed against him, a protective arm over your body and a hand resting on your stomach. he kisses the nape of your neck, making you hum softly in your half-asleep state.
"doing okay, my love?" he whispers into your shoulder.
"I'm fine. baby won't sleep though–moving around," you grumble.
"I'm sorry," he says, stroking his hand up and down your arm. "just a little longer, baby." he encourages, voice soft but earnest. "you're doing so well. you'll be an amazing mother."
you smile sleepily, half turning to him. "you're gonna be the most perfect dad."
and that's exactly what he needs to hear; he keeps it tucked away in his heart until your child is born. on the day it happens, he's secretly frantic, but hiding it under an eerily calm exterior. his heart's about to burst out of his chest, but he remains calm for you. trusting that everything would be okay.
when your baby is born, he holds her for the first time, and his heart melts completely, and he's terrified, and he's never felt so fiercely protective. he decides then that he will dedicate everything he works for, the rest of his life, to this child, to you. he leans in, baby still in his arms, cradling her head, and kisses you long. you see tears run down his face.
"thank you," he says, with so much emotion in his eyes, caressing your cheek. you feel your eyes water at the sight of him. he wipes his own tears away. "I love you," he laughs through his crying, "I love you so much."
he sits in the hospital bed next to you, taking turns holding your daughter, for a long time. he whispers excitedly to you about going home, of starting your family together.
THE ROOM was immersed in a muffled silence, broken only by the faint hum of the LEDs hanging on the walls, casting a soft, milky glow. It was the middle of the night, and the apartment Seonghwa shared with you seemed to be holding its breath, as if it too were about to surrender to sleep. The main lights had been off for a while; only those small pastel points of light outlined the furniture and reflected dimly off surfaces, creating gentle shadows.
Seonghwa was sitting at her vanity, the mirror illuminated by a soft light that caressed her face, defining her contours. With slow, familiar movements, she ran a cotton pad over her skin, dissolving the makeup she had worn during the day. Her gestures were precise and habitual. The cotton glided over her soft cheeks, over her tired yet serene eyes, leaving behind a sensation of freshness that made her quietly content.
She was already wearing her pajamas: light shorts and a very pale pink tank top, the soft fabric following her curves with simplicity. Her dark hair, loose over her shoulders, caught the LED light and shimmered faintly. She was relaxed, aware that soon she would slip under the covers beside you and cuddle you until you both fell asleep.
Suddenly, a slight movement behind her made her tense just a little. It wasn't fear, rather an instinctive reflex, as if her body had already recognized that presence. A moment later, two arms wrapped gently around her shoulders, pulling her into a warm, familiar embrace.
Seonghwa smiled immediately, without even needing to turn around or look at the reflection in the mirror.
You gotten out of bed, still half-asleep, drawn by the absence of your girlfriend. Your hair was tousled from sleep, a few rebellious strands falling across your face, and there was a small childish pout on your lips. Your eyes were half-closed, glossy with drowsiness, but in the little you could focus on, there was only Seonghwa.
You moved even closer, hiding your face in you girlfriend's slender neck. Seonghwa's skin was warm, scented with a peach body wash that you particularly liked, and you instinctively nestled there, as if it were your natural place. You murmured something softly, words muddled by sleep, too unclear to understand.
Seonghwa let out a soft chuckle, the gentle sound vibrating against your chest. «Angel, I don't understand you.» she said tenderly, continuing to wipe her face with the cotton pad.
You slowly lifted your head, meeting Seonghwa's gaze through the mirror. Even though your eyes were still heavy, there was a hint of mock accusation in your look. «I've been waiting for you in bed for more than ten minutes.» you murmured in a low, slightly plaintive voice, as if that time had felt like eternity.
Seonghwa smiled fondly, turning her face slightly to kiss your flushed cheek. «I'm almost done.» she assured you, with that calm tone that always managed to soothe you.
You grumbled in protest, tightening your arms around her shoulders. You stayed there, leaning against her shoulders, watching her movements reflected in the mirror, torn between sleep and the desire not to leave her alone even for those few minutes.
A little over five minutes passed. Seonghwa finished removing her makeup and began her skincare routine, applying creams and serums with the same care as always. Every gesture was slow and measured, while you, now too tired to keep waiting, simply followed her with your eyes, yawning softly.
When she was done, Seonghwa stood up and took your hand, intertwining her fingers with yours. Your skin was soft, your palm slightly warm from how many times you rubbed it against your clothes. She gently led you down the dimly lit hallway toward your bedroom.
As soon as they reached the bed, you let yourself fall onto the mattress with a tired huff, sinking into the covers. Seonghwa watched you for a moment, amused and tender at the same time, before lifting the blanket and slipping in beside you.
She covered you both, carefully adjusting the fabric under your chins, then moved closer to you and wrapped her arms around your waist. Her body fit perfectly against yours, like two puzzle pieces sliding together effortlessly. Seonghwa's slender hand began to caress the exposed skin of your waist with slow, light movements, tracing small circles that made you relax more and more.
Her warm breath brushed against your neck, steady and sweet, sending a shiver down tie your spine. You closed her eyes, letting yourself be completely enveloped by that feeling of safety, a smile curving your lips.
You snuggled even closer to her, seeking the maximum possible contact, as if wanting to erase any remaining distance between them. Seonghwa lowered her face and placed a warm kiss on your neck, just below your ear, letting it linger for a few seconds.
«I'm sorry I made you wait.» she whispered softly, her voice full of affection.
You didn't answer right away. You just held her tighter, sighing contentedly, as if that simple gesture was more than enough. In that moment, in the silence of the night and the warmth you shared, there was nothing else you needed. Just the two of you, the bed, and the warm blanket keeping you close.

fem!seonghwa naptime
you stir at the sound of the bedside lamp flicking on--the light filtering through your closed eye lids. you bury your face into the pillows under you, groaning.
a sweet chuckle rings out above you, followed by the soft trail of fingers through your hair, nails scratching along your scalp. that's when you realize that the pillow underneath your head isn't that at all. rather the soft, plush thighs of your girlfriend. your arms are around her waist, and your legs are tucked against her side.
she's gentle when she speaks, like she's speaking to a startled kitten that she's trying not to scare away. "did you sleep well, baby?"
you groan again, pressing your cheek to her stomach, glancing up at her. her free hand moves to your calf. she drags her nails across the skin, raising goosebumps all over your body.
she cups the back of your head, "i'm sorry, pretty girl. i wanted to let you sleep, but it's almost time for dinner."
"hwa..." your mind wanders to her making dinner, in her little night gown that clings to all over her curves--the one you can see even when she throws that sheer black robe on over it. try this for me, baby, as she cups a hand under your chin letting you sip broth from the spoon she holds out to you, purposefully letting some spill down your chin so she can wipe it away. if you're lucky, she'll lick the mess from your face.
"c'mon," she lifts your head from her lap, pressing a sweet kiss to your sleepy pout, "up you go." she nudges you off the bed, giving your ass a little tap as she directs you out of the bedroom. and despite your reluctance, you can't lie that getting to wrap your arms around her is all you ever want, even if you're losing out on precious naptime.

-> summary: Finding pleasure with other omegas in the city was easy, finding love, however, was not. You managed to do well in your new lifestyle until Park Seonghwa finds his way into your heart.
-> pairings: omega!seonghwa x omega!reader, mentions of omega!wooyoung x reader and omega!yuna x reader
-> author's note: This ended up waaaaaaay longer than I was intending for it to be
Seonghwa was the perfect omega. Every alpha in the area knew it, and so did you learn when you moved to the city.
You had hoped that you'd find other omegas here who openly liked other omegas, but those touches remained behind closed doors like they always had. After your eyes were awakened to the beauty of other omegas, Wooyoung had consumed you, so you'd hadn't exactly explored your hometown much aside from Yuna, so while in a new city, you made sure to meet as many new omegas as possible. Like you, they craved the touch of another omega. Unlike you, however, they didn't desire to be in a relationship with one.
It made you feel lonely, knowing that none of the omegas that made it to your bed ever wanted to stay, but the one-nights managed to temporarily fill the void that Wooyoung had left.
You sometimes wished you'd never felt his touch in the first place. You weren't lying when you said he'd ruined you. Not only his touch, but his affection.
The care of another omega was so much different than the care of am alpha. Rather than a protective fortress that an alpha provided, an omega was a warm blanket that protected you in a different way.
You tried not to think about it.
You couldn't bring yourself to work in a school again. Seeing the children that you really did think you were going to have soon broke your heart way more than you expected it to... but you still couldn't stay away.
You don't know how you managed to do it, but you opened a humble bakery. Honestly, it was pure luck and human kindness that gave you the opportunity. A pretty wealthy older alpha woman saw you crying alone and you vented most of your woes to her. You didn't mention that Wooyoung was an omega.
She offered you the opportunity to open a store of your choice so that you could manage on your own so long as you make a profit.
Well, you were a home economics teacher after all. Nutrition, cooking, and home finance might be useful in a Cafe. You had to admit that you really had done well for yourself, and you opened a block away from the local school, so that you could still see the children once in a while and dream.
Thankfully or not, kids didn't come in often. You marketed your cafe to be healthy, and what better deterrent to children was there than health food?
But your cafe was a hit with adults, and one of your first customers ended up becoming a regular that you started waking up every morning looking forward to see.
Seonghwa.
"Good morning," the smooth buttery voice had you looking up with a smile, "Welcome, what can I get... you...?" His visual was insane, even before you could smell him. He looked so delicate... so beautiful as if extra time was taken to craft his face.
"A vanilla latte, please," He said, his smile blinding you. "Of course," you said, punching it in. "How much?" He asked.
"On the house for the beautiful man who made my day just for letting me look at him," you said nonchalantly as to not make your flirting sound awkward. He was effectively awe-struck as you punched in his order, praying that the flush on your face wouldn't give you away too much. You were just a smooth talking omega, there was nothing else to it.
"I've never even heard an Alpha say something like that to me before," He said, and you shrugged despite your fast-beating heart, "I've never seen someone so attractive, forgive me, I've never done that before."
Seonghwa thankfully thought nothing suspicious of it. Omegas were naturally open with their emotions and affectionate, even with their words and especially in the city.
"I'm Seonghwa," He said warmly, "You're adorable."
"Aha, thank you... oppa?" "Oh I'm sure I'm older than you," He said, "98. "
"Oppa," You said, smiling, as you made his drink.
"And your name?" He asked. You were quiet as you made his drink, and he waited in high anticipation.
When you turned to hand him his drink, you looked at him shyly, "Y/n. I'm- I own this place."
"It's very nice to meet you, y/n," He said, taking the warm drink from your hands. Your fingers brushed his, and you had to repress a shiver as he took it from you without a second thought. He took a sip and beamed at you, "This is amazing."
"Thank you," You said. "Expect to see me more often, y/n," He said, "I'll see you."
You nodded, and when he left the store and was out of eyesight, you squealed, skipping around behind the counter.
He came back a few times. You learned that he was a teacher at the school next door, he learned that you used to be a teacher, too, and you loved seeing the kids walk by.
You became good friends to the point where he'd come, even on an off day when school was out, just to see you. Those days hurt the most, though, as you often saw him come in with evidence that he'd had a wild ride the night before. Since meeting him, you stopped seeing anyone else as he consumed your thoughts, and the thought of him in any lascivious position had you shaking your leg to distract your body from secreting anything that Seonghwa might get a whiff of. You don't think it ever worked, but Seonghwa merely assumed you'd seen a particularly captivating alpha before him on those days.
After a satisfying end to the school year Seonghwa spent a lot of his summer coming ti hang out with you in the cafe. You'd gotten a couple of employees at that point, but he'd come on on the days where only you were on shift and you'd let him hang out behind the counter.
You handed him a plate of cake and he looked at you in disbelief, "You can't keep giving me freebies, Y/nnie."
"Can't I treat my favorite customer right?" You asked innocently. Seonghwa's heart stuttered at that, confusing him.
"Besides," You continued, "It's a new recipe, I wanted someone to try it and see if it's sellable."
"It's going to be good no matter what, y/n." "Of course it tastes good, I know my skills," You chastised him, then realized that you were too comfortable as you shrunk in on yourself a little. "I just mean is the flavor profile popular in your opinion or something or maybe it should be seasonal? I don't know," you mumbled, turning away from him.
Seonghwa noticed the change in mood and spoke, "y/n."
You turned to look at him. "Come here." You did as told and looked up at him through your lashes, "yes?"
"Speak freely with me. We've been friends for almost a year." "I get too excited... sorry, it's not very omega-like of me."
"Hey," Seonghwa said softly, taking your wrist softly in his, "Who said an omega had to look and act a certain type of way? There's only one thing that unites us."
You looked at him expectantly, half-worried he'd say something akin to alphas owning omegas, but he made you laugh. "We're beautiful and society would fall without us."
"That's two things," You pointed out, "And alphas are just as important and beautiful... anyway you're the only beautiful one here, stop being humble."
"I'm going to ignore the fact that you don't think you're beautiful because the thought of it makes me uncharacteristically upset," Seonghwa chuckled, "But alphas are beautiful, huh? Anyone in the city caught your eye yet?"
You sighed, shaking your head, "Not really, no."
"Oh? You're slicked up everytime I see you and you're telling me that not a single alpha has your attention?"
You winced and turned away with a frown making Seonghwa realized he'd pushed a boundary. "Hey, I'm sorry if I crossed a line-"
"No, it's not- you're fine, I'm just... not used to talking about these things with anyone. I've never-" Well, you would say never since you had Wooyoung once upon a time. "I've never had anyone to go to about things like this... I've never really talked about it with anyone else."
"Well... I'm here if you want me," Seonghwa said, making your heart twist, "But I'm sorry I said that so suddenly."
"It's fine, but," You chuckled nervously, "But maybe just not at my workplace."
Seonghwa covered his mouth in shock for a moment before the both of you burst into giggles.
"Why don't you come to my place then?" Seonghwa suggested, "We're friends, right? I don't even have your number. Why don't we hang out outside of here. Take a day off from work, I know you're here everyday."
You huffed through a grin, "That sounds nice."
Seonghwa finally took a bite of the cake and smiled, "It's amazing by the way. But maybe it should be a fall flavor."
"Good to know, thank you."
What also would have been good to know was the way your body would react the moment you were surrounded by his scent.
"Shit."
"What, do I smell like shit?" Seonghwa asked with a playful grin. "No! No, I- I just... haven't had an omega friend in a long time..."
Seonghwa's eyes softened and he smiled, "Well, then I'm glad you gave me a chance."
You smiled gratefully before he took your bag from him.
"My place is pretty small, but cozy. I figured I didn't need much more than this until I get married. I don't like the idea of moving over and over, you know?" Seonghwa made conversation, "You'll sleep in the bed with me since I don't have a spare bed or room."
"Oh- it's okay, I can sleep on thr couch-"
"Nonsense," Seonghwa dismissed, "We're both omegas here. It's fine."
Right.
You nodded before going into his room. You breathed in deeply. His scent was obviously stronger in here, and you loved it. You felt gross to indulge yourself in him in any capacity while he was unaware, but he invited you here. You had to take advantage for your sanity's sake.
"Was there anything you wanted to ask me by the way?" Seonghwa asked after the two of you had changed and settled into bed. His sheets were plush and you could have passed out in them had Seonghwa not been next to you.
"About what?" "Alphas, love, personal life... I don't know. I'm an older omega, I thought it might be comforting to know that I'm here to talk to about these things."
"Oh, of course," you said, nodding. It made sense, though it wasn't alphas you wanted to talk about.
"So?" He inquired.
"Um... I don't know," you said softly, "I just... why aren't I satisfied? Or maybe I'm just not satisfying? To alphas?"
"You've been with alphas before, right?" Seonghwa asked.
"Yeah... two. They were about a year or two long... they broke up with me, though. I don't think they were satisfied, but... I wasn't so upset when I broke up with them either."
"Satisfaction like in the bedroom?" "Well... no," you said, scratching your head, "I think emotionally..."
"So smaller things... maybe like kissing... even small pecks go a long way, you know, y/n."
"They were good and wholesome relationships," You reassured him, "They just... I wasn't right for them... I'm starting to think I'm just not right for anyone... or just not worth it."
"Hey, never say that," He said sternly, "You are wonderful. Those alphas are assholes-" "No, they really weren't," you smiled sadly.
"How do you kiss?"
You paused, "Huh?"
"Alphas... they're really receptive to emotions while kissing. It's one of the only times that they are.
Oh, that explained why San liked kissing so much back in the day.
"I kiss normal? I didn't know the alpha kissing thing but that makes sense when I think about it."
"Well, there's a way of kissing that gets alphas on their knees," Seonghwa chuckled, "I would know."
"Oh? A popular omega, are you?" you teased to cover up your unease at the thought of him with anyone else.
"This bed has seen more alphas in my apartment than it saw customers at the mattress store," he chuckled. You could have said the same, except swap alphas for omegas, though you still doubted your body count was as high as his. You envied him. Those he desired desired him back two-fold. That was all you wanted. It was just a shame those you wanted never wanted you even half as much as you wanted them.
Still, you pretended to look more impressed than you were jealous and heartbroken.
"I could show you, you know," he said, and you tried, so so hard not to choke. "What?" you asked, coverin your mouth. "What? It's not uncommon for omegas to kiss, right? It's innocent affection. Like a mother and child, but well, just a little less innocent than that."
You supposed that would be the case for him... but it definitely would not be for you. You shook your head feigning amusement, "I don't know whether to be offended that you don't think I know how to kiss an alpha or flattered that you of all people are offering to kiss me."
"Come on, y/n," he said, not really leaving it up for discussion, "I'm older than you, I should be able to teach you something, right? Have I done a bad job at making you feel secure with me? You trust me to take care of you as your senior omega, don't you?"
"Well, yes of course, but-" "Then don't argue," he replied, moving you so that you'd be looking down at him, "Pretend you're the alpha. This is my signature. It's worked on everyone."
"Seonghwa-oppa, I don't think-" "Shhh," he put his fingers to your lips and straddled you, "Let me take care of you, alpha."
His tone of voice had your eyes wide, and a gasp escaped you as he placed a kiss to your collarbone, exposed by the looseness of your top.
You hated that he had called you alpha, but it was the roleplay, you supposed. You didn't know whether or not you were allowed to enjoy this, but your body reacted whether you liked it or not, immediately warming up, your pussy slicking with arousal.
"Got you wet already, alpha?" he asked, kissing wetly up your neck. Your breaths were light but loud and your hands found purchase on his waist. He pulled away for a moment to smirk up at you, the dirty look somehow looking almost innocent in his eyes.
He finally leaned up to place his lips on yours. For you, it was like sparks flew, something you'd never felt before. Before you knew it, your instincts had you deepening the kiss, hands now on his face as you resisted twisting him into the position you wanted him in. This was supposed to be a teaching moment, not pleasure. You were supposed to remember how he kissed you and use it on another alpha one day. This was nothing to him. You had to remind yourself of these things.
But... even if it went nowhere, maybe you could indulge yourself like this at least a little bit.
Eventually, Seonghwa pulled away and grinned at you, petting the side of your head as you leaned into his hand, "Well, usually alphas are little less submissive than that, but I think you get the picture."
You were confident that you had gotten a completely different picture from that. One where his cock was stuffed down your throat and your naked pussy humped against nothing at the sound of his desperate cries of release. That was a more accurate picture.
Seonghwa had to ignore the tingles that had gone through his body. He'd never felt that before, but he wasn't about to freak her out. It was probably nothing.
"Thank you, oppa," you said softly, tucking yourself into his chest so that his warmth could comfort you.
"Hey, you have to give me feedback," Seonghwa complained lightheartedly as he rubbed your back, "Don't fall asleep yet. Was it different or did I teach you something you already knew?"
"It was different," you replied.
"Well, then you have to show me what you learned, y/n."
You pulled away, "But I just learned, oppa, I can't just do it right away!"
"Oh? Then next time you have to show me you learned something," he said, nuzzling his nose into the side of your head. You nodded with a sigh, "Okay."
You doubted there would be a next time.
As you assumed, he never thought anything of that night.
But you were wrong.
You two did continue spending time in the cafe, but now when he passed you, hands finding your waist as he maneuvered you out of the way, he found his fingertips tingling where he touched you.
He found his eyes more drawn to your face as the microexpressions you made during your seemingly non-complex interactions that became interesting to only him.
You did notice his gaze, but you didn't didn't dwell on it. No need to chase waterfalls.
Eventually, school started up again, and Seonghwa had to spent more time thinking about you than he could see you.
Meanwhile, a new regular came into your place of work.
Yeosang was soft for an alpha. You couldn't deny that he attracted you at least a little. He had you questioning if you really were only emotionally available to omegas or if you really just hadn't found the right alpha yet. You couldn't forget Seonghwa entirely, but Yeosang had been the first successful distraction from him.
After a few months, Seonghwa, though he'd still been coming in every weekday, was replaced with Yeosang in your mind. Not voluntarily, but since you were actively trying to give up on Seonghwa, Yeosang was seeming like you'd finally found a solution.
But he was so, so dense. You'd asked him out one day, and he didn't realize that you meant as a date, so when it ended he'd said, "Hanging out with you was fun, we should do it again."
"Hanging out?" "Yeah?" Geez.
You let it go the first time, but when you went on another date with him and he still didn't realize, you realized that you weren't as patient as you thought you were.
You cut him off while he was talking about something, leaning up to plant a kiss on his lips, stunning him. He shut up instantly, looking at you for a few seeconds before a shy smile broke out onto his face. "Oh." "Yeah."
You started dating him after that.
Seonghwa was not so pleasantly surprised to find out when he discovered the hickies on your neck one morning. It was your turn to shock him with the knowledge of your previous night's endeavors.
"Oh? Who's the new alpha?" Seonghwa asked and you smiled softly at the thought of your lover, "His name is Yeosang. He's... I never thought I could meet someone like him. He's... warm. A lot warmer than a lot of the alphas I've met."
"Yeosang? Kang Yeosang?" "Oh, huh, he did say he also worked at the school, I completely forgot. No wonder he became a regular."
"Yeah, he's the math teacher," Seonghwa said, "A reluctant new hire since schools don't usually hire alphas. He was special, I guess."
"He is special," you said softly in realization, and Seonghwa couldn't tell if he liked that you were happy or if he wanted to be the one making you happy.
Wait what?
"What did you teach again?" you asked Seonghwa and he furrowed his brows, "I'm the dance teacher. One of the physical education courses. I didn't tell you that?"
"Dance teacher? I think I would have remembered that," you said in awe, "That's so cool, no wonder you're so lean."
"Isn't Kang Yeosang pretty muscular?" "Well, that's because working out is his hobby. You wouldn't expect a math teacher to be naturally fit, but I knew that you didn't work out much, so now it makes sense."
"You think I'm fit?" "I don't think it, I know it? It's a fact, isn't it?" It was indeed a fact.
"Well, does he make you happy?" Seonghwa asked, heart racing in anticipation.
The way you paused had him nervous, and the smile on your face squeezed his heart. "I think this is the first time I've ever been satisfied in a relationship." With an alpha anyway.
Seonghwa couldn't help but smile. You were happy, so how could he be anything but, "I'm happy for you."
The knowledge of your relationship followed him to work. He hadn't told you this, but his students would often see him talking to you in the window of the cafe as they passed by and teased him for it, singing, "Mr. Park and Cafe Lady sitting in a tree. K I S S I N G."
City children, especially these days, didn't grow up with the same enforcement of alpha and omega heteronormativity, so they saw nothing wrong with such relationships. Seonghwa told them, even, that it would never happen since you were an omega and he was an omega, to which they responded, "So what?"
So what, indeed.
Well, even if he wanted to question everything he'd ever known fo you, you had slotted yourself firmly back into the heteronormative standard now that you were with Yeosang. Another thing that followed him to work.
Suddenly, the man was everywhere. He was a great guy, Seonghwa had to admit, and he could tell why you liked him. If normal alphas hadn't seduced you, it made sense that this omega-like alpha held you firmly in his grasp.
It made him think about the way you used to look at him, like there was something you wanted from him. You didn't really look at him like that much anymore. He wondered more often these days about what it had meant back then.
All Seonghwa knew was that his stomach had been in knots since kissing you, and he hadn't been with anyone else since. Even when he laid in bed at night cock in hand, even his thoughts couldn't find an alpha to fixate on, gravitating to you once again. He hadn't even jerked off since kissing you, because all he could think of was you, and he felt too terrible to beat his dick to the thought of the pretty little omega that he had taken under his wing.
It was one fateful day, though, that almost finally allowed him to see the extent of his feelings for you.
"Oh, Y/n is on heat leave at the moment."
Heat leave... you were on heat leave and you were probably spending it with-
"Fuck."
He took off work that day. He'd never been to your apartment, but he knew where you lived and he ran there.
He was breathing heavily when you opened the door, sweat gathered at your hairline and shock etched into your face.
"Seonghwa-"
"I- I heard-" "Oh...," You said softly, lip wobbling, "You heard about Yeosang."
Pause. "Yeosang." Seonghwa pretended to know what you were talking about.
"It was yesterday," you said, trying not to cry, "We- we broke up."
Seonghwa's mouth gaped, "Right before your heat?" "My heat?" You asked confused before you blushed I realization, "Oh... that's just what I told my employees... it's a little embarassing that the first time I've ever taken off work was for heartbreak so I..."
Seonghwa's expression softened and he held his arms open for you to hug him. You immediately found comfort in his arms and brought him inside where he led you to the couch so that he could cuddle you properly.
You buried your face into his neck and tried you stifle your whimpers, "There's something wrong with me."
"No, sweetheart, there's nothing wrong with you," he murmured, his heart relaxing a little. There were a lot of things he was thinking at the moment, but the most overwhelming desire he had at the moment was merely to comfort you. He was hating your tears.
But there is something wrong with me, You thought, I just don't like alphas.
You tried with Yeosang, you really did. The two of you were wonderful together, and you were slowly able to forget everything that had happened with Yuna and Wooyoung, and even the feelings that were starting to build for Seonghwa..., but you couldn't fool yourself. Your lack of desire for alphas was fundamental, and at some point, even though you loved Yeosang, he could feel it. He could feel that your heart just wasn't where it was supposed to be, even though you wanted it to be, even though you were at a point where it should have been. Yeosang knew you loved him, but he knew it wasn't a whole love like he had for you; it was a piece of a love you could have with someone else. He couldn't put his finger on it, but when he brought it up to you, you understood.
It broke your heart to hear it, but that's when you realized that you really were just broken. No one wanted to love you or be loved by you in the way you wanted or could give. Nothing was working, and even though it felt more right than anything for another omega to warm your bed, the only conclusion was that something had to be wrong with you.
Was there no one else with this burden? Were you truly just wrong?
The thoughts had you sobbing into Seonghwa's sweater and he could only hold you as he thought of all the ways he wished he could tell Yeosang off. What had he done that this normally calm and sweet omega was crying in his arms like this? He squeezed you to release his own anger, but you were none the wiser.
"O-oppa... don't you have work?" you sniffled some time later when your sobs had subsided into stuttered breaths. "I took off... I was worried about you when I found out you were on heat leave... I thought you were..." A little lie wouldn't hurt. "I thought you were alone."
"What could you have done even if I was on my heat?" you mumbled unseriously.
"I could have helped."
You looked up at him curiously, "Help?"
"What else can an omega do during their heat when they have no alpha than rely on other omegas?"
"Have... have you done that before? Is that normal?" you asked. You'd never heard of anyone else doing it.
"Well, no," Seonghwa said, almost nervously, "B-but it's hardly unnatural. Only omegas with close bonds even have the desire to help another omega that way. I feel close to you. I'm here, so... you don't have to worry."
You didn't respond. How were you supposed to respond? Seonghwa was senior to both you and Wooyoung, sure, but not by much. Was that seriously a thing for close omegas to desire to help each other? Was that how Wooyoung had felt for you? Just an instinctual desire to help you through your heat because of how close you were?
You sighed against Seonghwa, making him shiver. You didn't want to think about anymore. You wanted to stop thinking all together. This sucked, everything sucked. Was it so much to ask for another omega to love you proudly?
Fuck, you hadn't thought about Wooyoung in so long. You missed him. You wondered if you shouldn't have been so quick to feel betrayed. Maybe you should have just asked to join his relationship with San... then again, if Wooyoung really loved you, he'd have considered that and offered by then, wouldn't he have? Fuck this. Fuck Wooyoung. Fuck San. Fuck everything.
A gentle hand petting your head brought you out of your angry thoughts and your body untensed. Seonghwa noticed you suddenly getting agitated, but didn't know why. He was relieved when he felt you relax, and before he knew it, you weren't thinking about it anymore. You were sleeping. You weren't thinking at all.
Now he allowed himself to think. He had probably been wrong about his feelings for you. Surely, his little romantic infatuation had to have been fleeting. This feeling that he'd never had before wasn't romantic, no, it was almost motherly. He wanted to care for you, take you fully under his wing, treasure you, protect you. He almost felt responsible for you. You were being so vulnerable for him in this moment... he wanted to make sure you felt safe with him.
Yeah, that wasn't romantic interest. How silly of him. It would have been the most embarrassing thing to come to you about romantic feelings. Sure it wasn't looked down upon, but it wasn't any omega's choice (if it was even a choice) to be with another omega. You were happily with Yeosang until now; there was no indication to him that his supposed feelings had been reciprocated. Silly him to assume.
He held you until you woke up, head tucked into his neck as he stroked your back soothingly.
"Oppa...," you said softly, "I'm sorry, you've been here so long."
"It's okay," he mumbled, nuzzling his nose into your hair, "Like I said. I'm here."
You took a deep breath, "Why doesn't anyone want me?" You knew the answer..., but you wanted to know what he'd say.
"Well, I can't fathom you being the problem if you did what I taught you," Seonghwa said humorously, trying to lighten the mood, "You did, right?"
"Of course," you mumbled. "You wanna show me?" he asked, and despite the tear stains, your expression filled with determination as you looked at him.
You leaned up slightly to peck his lips. He smiled warmly but didn't get the chance to coo at your cuteness before your lips were on his again. You sat up against him, placing your hands behind him on the couch as you kissed him so tenderly he thought he might melt.
You positioned yourself to straddle him and pressed chaste kisses along the line of his sideburns and jaw, pressing a long peck against the skin below his adam's apple making him shudder.
"Am I making you feel good, Alpha?" you whispered, grinding against his crotch. His breathy moans were like music to your ears but were soon cut off by the reattachment of your mouth to his. At first, you were below him, submissive and small, but now you sat tall, making him look up at you. You hadn't touched him, but he almost looked fucked out, and it made you hungry for more of his expressions of pleasure.
You took the lead, french kissing Seonghwa in a way that almost hypnotized him. The reminder of the taste of your mouth had his head spinning, almost questioning the conclusion he had just come to. You were delicious, and he never wanted to stop drinking you.
When you pulled away, finally, both mouths remained open as you breathed, wet with saliva, an almost comical line of the substance connecting the both of you.
You looked at him for feedback, expectant and he pressed his hand to your back, "Yeosang is a fucking idiot."
Your subsequent giggle made his heart soar as he smiled back, relieved that you were laughing. He pulled you down to cradle you in his arms, nuzzling his face against yours, increasing your giggles.
He felt as though he could listen to you forever and be satisfied.
Your friendship with Seonghw grew to an all-time high. There were hardly any boundaries between the both of you. Sure, the kissing wasn't common practice. Seonghwa realized very quickly that you were not the problem in any capacity, not your physical intimacy at least, so there was nothing he felt he needed to teach you, and you, despite your initial crush on him, just learned to cope with the fact that he would never like you, but there was always the chance you could meet another omega and proudly fall in love one day. You could only pray that you wouldn't lose Seonghwa in the process.
Even if you couldn't have him, you cherished his friendship.
You and Yeosang weren't on bad terms. He still was a regular at the cafe, and much to Seonghwa's disappointment, you remained friends. Yeosang didn't know how beat up you'd been over the break-up. As far as he was concerned, it was amicable, and to maintain the friendship, you were determined to keep it that way. Seonghwa had to respect it as much as he wanted to go up to Yeosang and give him a piece of his mind.
The friendship was comfortable, and once again, Seonghwa started going out and seeing Alphas and you... couldn't bring yourself to see anyone.
As much as you wanted the touch of another omega, you didn't think you could deal with the emptiness that came with them leaving afterward. Even if they wanted your body, the fact that they didn't want your soul had you feeling unwanted entirely, and for your own mental health, you decided not to subject yourself to it.
But, of course, things could never be easy. You were comfortable with him, and you'd given up on him, so you thought it was safe to open up. You thought it was safe to tell him about more than just San, Yunho, and Yeosang, but about Yuna and Wooyoung, too, and all the other omegas you'd been with since coming to the city. You thought it was safe, you thought you were safe, you thought he was safe.
You were wrong.
You and Seonghwa had been laying on your backs in bed facing opposite directions. You were feeling sentimental, so you spoke. You wanted to reveal your heart to him the way you never had to anyone before.
"Can I tell you something?" You asked softly. "Of course," he replied. "I've never told anyone else this before, you know," You told him, "I just... it scares me."
"You can tell me anything, y/n."
You believed him, grabbing his hand for comfort.
"When I was still a teacher, there was this other female omega teacher, she taught dance, too, actually... we stayed overnight at the school for school event and... one thing led to another."
Seonghwa listened intently, heart not knowing how to process this information.
"She was beautiful... and I'd never been with an omega like that before..., but it made sense why San and Yunho never worked out..., that interaction alone had fulfilled me more than my relationships with them... I wanted to start something with her, but... she didn't. I never spoke to her again," you sighed, "I thought that maybe my feelings were a fluke..., but then..."
You choked up at the thought of Wooyoung. "Wooyoung had been my best friend for years... I didn't think I'd ever fall in love with him... until I started my heat when I was in his bed, and I pushed him into his heat... we spent it together, and he told me... he told me he loved me and that he wanted me, and I believed him..."
You looked at Seonghwa hopelessly, ignoring his unreadable expression, "But he was seeing my ex-alpha behind my back the whole time... and he spread such horrible rumors about me, saying that I forced myself on him... I was fired, my parents disowned me, the people shunned me..., so I moved here."
Seonghwa's heart broke at your backstory, but he couldn't help but retreat his hand the more you spoke. You liked omegas. You actually liked omegas... was his friendship with you even as innocent as it was supposed to be? What he thought was normal omega bonding... were you indulging in it as something more the whole time?
"I'm sorry that happened to you," he said softly, "Can... can I ask if you felt that way about me?"
You frowned, holding your hands together against your stomach as you looked at the ceiling, "Yeah... I did..., but I stopped after meeting Yeosang. I really did love him, you know, and I'm not the type to lead someone on." Like Wooyoung did to me. He hummed in acknowledgment.
You tried not to take the lack of physical contact to heart, and the rest of the night was silent. You really didn't expect your heart to break the worst time the next morning when Seonghwa was gone, and your favorite regular was no longer a customer at all.
You called him. He didn't answer. Texts were left on delivered. You didn't see him even passing by the shop. He was gone. Ghosted you just like Yuna did, but this was almost worse as you'd innocently bared your soul to him, and he decided that you were not worth dealing with anymore.
You had seriously cherished his friendship. He was like your mentor as an omega, the older omega guiding you the way you'd always wished you'd had. Wooyoung had kind of been like that before things had gotten messy. If Wooyoung hadn't been attracted to you, you'd have told him about Yuna eventually, too. Despite everything he'd done, you couldn't help but be bitter towards Seonghwa, comparing him to Wooyoung, thinking that Wooyoung would never had done this to you.
But Wooyoung had done worse, hadn't he?
Now that Seonghwa was gone, your mind coped by thinking about Wooyoung, avoiding one heartbreak by fixating on another, objectively worse heartbreak. Your mind tried to convince you that it hadn't been that bad, that maybe Wooyoung really did love you.
Anything to stop thinking about Seonghwa. Out of sight out of mind... but that didn't apply to Wooyoung you guessed.
"Are you okay, noona?" your employee asked. You looked at Jongho with a sigh. You had laid your head down on your arms on the counter as you thought about your horrible love life. The young alpha had always been good to you, very respectful. You were happy his mother raised him well.
"No," you chuckled honestly, "Seonghwa stopped talking to me."
"What!? Why?" he asked.
Something in your heart changed in that moment. Fuck hiding everything. You liked omegas, no- you LOVED them.
"Do you think it's wrong for an omega to mate with another omega, Jongho?"
Jongho blushed before thoughtfully shaking his head, "No? What could possibly be wrong with it?" "It's not abnormal?" "Not at all? Not all omegas are built the same. Alphas can like other alphas, too, right?" You smirked at him, "Have you ever liked another alpha?" "I feel like it's impossible for me to not look at a gorgeous female alpha and not-"
Jongho almost let his unfiltered words fall out at the thought of the specific female alpha that had recently gotten his attention and you laughed, patting the boy on the back. "Well... I like omegas. I've never liked alphas, even though I thought I did or that I should... Seonghwa found out, and... well, I guess he does think it's wrong."
"What-?" You cringed as you turned to the door. Yeosang came in at the worst time. "What are you doing here?!" you yelled at him.
"I came for my lunch break today! I wanted to ask you about your friend Seonghwa, he's been really uncharacteristically cold recently! Now I know why! What a douche!"
"Hey don't-" "He is a douche, noona," Jongho stopped you from trying to defend Seonghwa. Your lip wobbled, "No, he's not..."
Yeosang frowned, and Jongho patted your back comfortingly.
"You don't think anything is wrong with me?" You asked Yeosang, and he shook his head frantically. "If anything, I think there's less wrong with you now than I did before I walked in. I should have figured that you preferred omegas over alphas."
You smiled at him, "You really are different... I wish I could have loved you in a way that satisfied you." Yeosang returned the sad expression, "I do, too."
"What are you going to do now, though, noona?" Jongho asked. "Ugh, I don't know," You mumbled.
"I was keeping my distance a little because I thought I hurt you, y/n," Yeosang said, "But... now that I know that it wasn't just me... I hope we can be friends properly... not just exes."
"I'm your friend, too, noona," Jongho insisted, "Even if I'm younger than you."
"Why don't me and Jongho take you to hang out outside of work," Yeosang suggested, "We're friends, too, aren't we Jongho?"
"Sure, hyung," Jongho said, amused, "I wouldn't mind that."
You looked between your two unlikely friends, your employee and ex-boyfriend, and couldn't help but laugh.
"You guys are silly," you said through your laughter, "Sure, I wouldn't mind that, either."
Sure, you loved Seonghwa, but you cherished his friendship more. If he wasn't even willing to give you that, then... well, friendship was friendship after all. You could cherish these guys, too.
Yeosang and Jongho treated you well. You learned that the two of them were introverts, but just oddly sparked chemistry after meeting because of you. They didn't have many friends outside of work, so the three of you became a fun little trio that, after a while, became recognizable to the people around the places in the city that you frequented. Two alphas and an omega hanging out as only friends, seemed to stand out, you supposed.
Even Seonghwa had gotten wind of it at some point. He didn't feel jealous, of course, why would he? He'd left you after all, and you'd already admitted that you didn't like alphas. He had nothing to worry about. Not that he worried about having to worry about it.
He had been conflicted since that night. The surefire conclusion he'd come to felt solid until that moment. He had rightly been questioning himself and his attraction to you before, but now he was more confused than ever. He still had that motherly protective feeling towards you, but the more time passed the more his stomach lurched at the thought of you, his heart almost crying out for your touch.
He'd tried to move on with other alphas, to see if this connection that he had with you really was a fleeting infatuation, but he found that he wasn't satisfied with them anymore. Holding alphas in his arms felt nothing like holding you. That motherly instinct of his that was usually reserved for alphas and children was aching to reach you, to have a deeper connection than what he was used to with anyone.
It scared him. The complexity of his overwhelmingly positive feelings for something so unknown to him was scary, and you were the root of it. So naturally, he tried to forget you.
He couldn't.
It was a rainy day that he decided to pass by the cafe for the first time in months. He figured that you wouldn't bother looking outside or at least wouldn't recognize him with the rain hitting the windows. He didn't even bother with an umbrella. He felt so numb that he wasn't to feel something, anything, be it physical of emotional, that wasn't this sadness that was related to you.
He had come a little bit after Yeosang who sat behind the counter on the stool that had once been his, chatting with you and your employee, Jongho, whom he recognized as the new hire you'd gotten sometime after the first time you spent the night at his apartment.
Seonghwa saw that they had no romantic intentions with you. Sure, he wasn't worried about your interest in them, but he had been a little worried about them making unwanted moves on you. But based on their body language, the entirety of your exchanges with them as he'd seen so far had been platonic. He didn't know how he'd have felt if you'd become a pack with them. More complicated feelings would have been added to the mix.
His students hadn't been helping him either.
"Psst, Mr. Park," one child said quietly while the rest of the students were doing cooldowns led by the assistant teacher. He smiled, leaning down to his student, "What's up?"
"I know you don't really talk to Ms. l/n from the coffee shop anymore..." These nosy little- "But she likes omegas, if you were wondering!"
Wait, how did his student know that?
"I heard her talking with one of the other cafe people," the child said excitedly, "So there's no way she isn't interested in you!"
Well, that was something he already knew... somewhat. You did say that your feelings for him were old. You never said that those feelings were gone, but... you didn't say that you still felt that way either.
Seonghwa put on a smile for his student, patting their head, "You should mind your own business... but good to know." The kid laughed, before running back to the other children to avoid being scolded by the assistant teacher.
You were talking about it much more openly, now, he assumed. No one had been any wiser about your preference before as far as he knew. Hell, he was the closest person to you for the longest time, and he hadn't known... and he'd left when he found out... now it seemed like everyone knew.
Maybe you figured you had nothing else to lose. He could only imagine how exhausting it had to be to hide a fundamental part of yourself.
Now he wondered if he was doing exactly that as he felt his heart react to every radiant smile that came upon your face when you laughed at your friends' jokes or when you addressed a customer. That was something he loved about you. No matter who you were talking to or what was going on, your kindness, your smile, was always genuine. It seemed to be even brighter since being open about your love for omegas. It even seemed like people were receptive to your transparency.
Hot tears couldn't help but join the rain that fell against his face as he watched you. He didn't know how long he stood there, longing for something he had yet to acknowledge how much he wanted. He knew it hurt to be without you, but to truly be with you? What would that even be like?
"Hey, omega!" Seonghwa turned his head with furrowed brows, frantically wiping his tears as he went to respond to the unfamiliar alpha voice calling out to him.
"What're you doing out in the rain, poor doll? Need a hot shower? Maybe a hot bed as a bonus?" Seonghwa's mood turned sour when he realized the situation. Cat-calling, of course.
"Park Seonghwa, right?" the rough alpha asked, jogging up to him with an umbrella. Despite the shelter from the rain, Seonghwa did not feel relieved in the presence of this new alpha. "I'm sorry, did you need something?" he asked, his tone clearly indicating his mood. This alpha didn't seem dumb enough to not have read the room, but he certainly decided to ignore it.
"I think I made my intention pretty clear, didn't I?" the alpha asked, smiling crookedly, "Come on, I hear you're a good time!"
"And I've heard nothing about you," Seonghwa snipped. It wasn't like him to handle such things with impatience, usually opting to put pushy alphas in their place with grace, but he really wasn't in the mood today. In an ideal world, he wanted to curl into your arms on a soft bed after having had a nice meal and a hot shower, but life didn't seem to want to be kind to him today.
Maybe he deserved it after basically abandoning you.
"Oh, don't be like that, baby," he chuckled, "I'll take good care of you, honest. You're special, you know. I want you. I usually don't think about an omega for this long."
For this long? But we just met? Seonghwa was properly creeped out now, and with nothing but the clothes on his back and his phone in his pocket---he'd left his bag at school knowing he'd be wallowing in self-pity outside of your cafe anyway, and he'd rather not get his books and electronics wets---he was feeling pretty defenseless right now.
It was like you could sense it as you finally paid attention to the figures outside the cafe window. You had just finished with a customer after a long line when the familiar silhouette caught your eye, slowly inching away from a bigger and seemingly too imposing figure.
Your expression twisted into one of concern as your body moved on it's own. Jongho didn't notice, but Yeosang watched you curiously as you made your way outside, on alert in case you needed help.
You opened the door to the cafe, "Is there a problem out here?"
Seonghwa looked like a deer in headlights while the alpha looked annoyed, "No ma'am. You have a nice day now."
"You think I haven't seen you around before, Mr. Gae?" you asked, your words undercutting your polite tone, "I was wondering why you were loitering without ever coming inside, but it seems that I've found my answer."
"How do you know my name-?" "I'm not oblivious to the members of my community Mr. Gae," you said, "It doesn't look like Mr. Park is very interested in you, so I suggest you take your leave quickly before the police catch you for being within a mile of the school."
"I've never touched a child, how dare you-" "The children might not know you, but our beloved teachers certainly do," you said, "I'd prefer if you didn't cause distress for the pillars of our community anymore."
"I'll be damned if I let some useless omega bitch who can't even get an alpha to fuck her tell me what to do. Run back to your omega lover, because they ain't gonna protect you if you keep talking," the alpha spat.
"Jongho," Yeosang said, seeing the alpha get worked up, and Jongho immediately placed himself within the alpha's line of sight, offering a menacing fortress behind you to make sure he didn't try anything.
"You don't know me," you chuckled, "But it sounds like you're projecting, Mr. Gae. My good friend over there already called the police." You pointed to Yeosang who animatedly spoke on the phone for Mr. Gae to see, "Now, are you going to leave Mr. Park alone, or are you going to take your chances and get arrested because you can't keep your dick in your pants nor can you get a willing omega to sleep with you?"
"Fuck you," he spat, throwing his umbrella at you before running back to his truck, speeding off. "Y/n!" Seonghwa gasped when the umbrella hit you, but you maintained your composure, closing the umbrella and bringing it in with you.
Seonghwa made no move to follow you, so you looked at him expectantly, "Come on inside, now, before you get a cold."
Seonghwa snapped out of his daze and followed you, but stopped only a step away from the door once he got inside, realizing that he was dripping wet all over your floors, not the mention the weird looks he was receiving from other customers.
"I should have some large clothes in the back room that you can wear," you said to Seonghwa, putting your hand on his shoulder, and ushering him behind the counter. Jongho and Yeosang shared a look before watching you take Seonghwa to the back where he changed.
"Who's clothes are these?" he mumbled to you as your back was turned so he could change. "Mine," you said simply. You didn't want to elaborate. They could be yours because they fit you or perhaps you preferred to have bigger clothes to change into before you went home so you didn't attract unwanted attention at night. Either way, it was lucky you had them for this moment.
"Thank you," he mumbled, now wearing a pair of white sweatpants and a hoodie. Not exactly the most inconspicuous outfit, but it was cheap, simple, and suitable. You didn't pick another color for him, since he'd always seemed pure to you. It was fitting. You don't think you'd have ever worn it, having bought it without thinking along with the other colors you'd stocked for yourself.
Maybe it was meant for him.
Maybe he was meant to be here.
With you.
The same thoughts filtered through both heads, but were quickly swept away.
"Um, you can relax on the couch by the fireplace," you said, "That seemed tense... I used to see him around more when you used to stay here with me... I guess he was stalking you. I don't think it's safe for you to go home alone right now."
"Um... okay," he murmured, burying his face into the neckline of the sweatshirt.
They came out from the back and you led him to the seating you'd suggested to him. It was popular, so you were surprised it was actually unoccupied. "I'll get you some tea," you said softly, "You can get comfortable, just... relax a little, okay?"
He nodded silently before you went back behind the counter.
"Yo, why are you being so nice?" Jongho whisper yelled when you came back. You glared at him, glancing back at Seonghwa, "We never argued or had a negative interaction. He stopped talking to me, but he didn't explicitly do anything to hurt me. There's no reason I can't be kind. Plus... you can't just be rude to someone you used... to love."
Your words slowed and you let out a huff making Jongho look at you sympathetically, once again exchanging knowing eye contact with Yeosang.
You gave Seonghwa the tea, and he held the warm cup in his sleeve-covered hands, feeling the heat seep through the material and into his skin. He sat there, staring into the liquid for a long while, so long that you wondered if you'd forgotten his order and he actually hated the tea before he finally took a sip. His body filled with warmth and he couldn't help the tears that pricked his eyes.
He felt comforted. Hardly a ten-minute interaction with you had his body relaxing into a state that one should feel when they've finally come home after years of being away, or as if he'd been thirsting in the desert and found an oasis that he never wanted to leave.
You frowned when you saw his tears. He continued drinking the tea until it was gone, but the more time passed, the more his shoulders were wracked with silent sobs, his teeth almost ripping into the material of the hoodie to hold the sound back.
"Just go over there, y/n," Yeosang sighed, and you looked at him, shocked that he caught you staring. You weren't exactly hiding it, though. "It doesn't have to mean anything if you don't want it to. Omegas comfort other omegas, too."
"Yeah, but that's what our relationship always was and he stopped speaking to me just by having the knowledge that I once loved him, and that I loved omegas... there's no way he isn't disgusted by me."
"Don't say that," Jongho said sternly, "You know that's not true. He was watching you from the window of the store for like an hour before that alpha freak showed up. He misses you. In what way, I do'nt know." But he was pretty damn sure it wasn't a platonic way. Waiting in the rain for your lover was textbook romance.
You sighed, following your whims. You could regret another day, but seeing him cry was breaking you. He really was a motherly figure to you once upon a time. To see someone who was once your pillar actually break down like this was hard to watch.
You planted yourself next to him, placing your hand on his shoulder, "Seonghwa...ssi... are you okay?"
Seonghwa coughed when he felt your touch, jumping to wipe his tears and unconfidently look you in the eyes.
"Y/n! oh my goodness, I'm sorry, I-." "Sorry for what?" you asked rhetorically, "You didn't ask to be harassed in front of my place of work. It was the least I could do to help you."
"I-...," there were so many things he wanted to say, "He said such horrible things to you..."
You smiled at him reassuringly, albeit a little sad, "It's easier for me to respond when I know what he's thinking, and he made his disrespect very clear. I don't have to feel hurt from people like that."
I don't know how to feel about you because I don't know what you're thinking, but I'm feeling hurt and disrespected by you.
Seonghwa pressed his lips into a firm line, "I'm sorry."
"Don't be sorry, you can't help the way you process things," you said, "I'm sorry he affected you so much."
"He- he really didn't, I just...," Seonghwa looked down at his cup and traced the rim with his finger absentmindedly, "I just haven't felt this... comforted... in a long time... or maybe ever... I don't know if it's because I never have been or let myself be taken care of this way or if I- I just..."
Or if I just miss you...
You both knew what he was trying to say, but you wanted to hear it from him. You didn't even trust words at face value after Wooyoung. You weren't going to start trusting words that weren't even said, now.
"Can... can we talk?" Seonghwa asked softly, "I... I have so much to say, and I'm not even sure what I'm thinking, but I just... I want to stop... avoiding it."
"Okay," you said, rubbing his arm, "Why don't you wait for me to close up, and then you can come home with me, okay?"
He nodded, and you smiled at him, moving your hand down his arm to take his hand, and comfortingly stroke the back of it with his thumb.
"Have you eaten?" You asked, and he shook his head, "I'll grab something for you."
Seonghwa felt so... warm, so taken care of... Was this how you'd felt with him? Was this the feeling you preferred over... whatever it was that one felt with alphas? He couldn't think of that feeling...why couldn't he think of that feeling? It was like he'd completely forgotten it.
He positioned himself on the couch in a way where he could always be looking at you while you were at the counter and imagined himself next to you. What would he do- no... what did he want to do? He had treated you so unfairly, he didn't deserve the opportunity to explain himself but you were giving it to him anyway.
Now he owed it to you to have something he could explain. Something more than just that he didn't know how to feel so he didn't want to feel it at all... no, that was a terrible excuse that would hurt you.
Seonghwa closed his eyes and imagined all the levels of intimacy he'd had with you thus far from the moment you'd met to the times his tongue was in your mouth, hips firmly pressed together.
Were those moments as innocent as he had been trying to convince himself they were? Had you really been the one indulging yourself, or was he the one subconsciously taking advantage of your willingness all this time. You were putty in his hands, obeying when he wanted to "teach" you and subsequently "show him what you learned." In hindsight, it felt almost coercive on his part to even say such things, but he really was being honest in his intentions..., you seemed to think so, too... but maybe he wanted you all along. Maybe desire to "help" you was just his mind creating an opening for him to submerse himself in you.
He couldn't say he'd ever felt that way for another omega before. He wasn't like you in the sense that relationships with alphas didn't satisfy him. The only reason his previous relationships hadn't worked out was solely due to the ambitions of those alphas that had their desires for the future clashing impenetrably. He had never felt unfulfilled.
But now that he'd met you... there was nothing, no one else for him.
He wanted you.
He wanted you.
He wanted you.
His heart beat incessantly in his chest to the point he thought he might actually be some kind of medical issue, but it was just you. You were consuming him.
He stood up, going back to the counter. He couldn't wait anymore.
"Y/n," he said unwaveringly, making you turn to him. "What's wrong?" you asked.
"It can't- I can't wait," he said, "Please, can we- can we please go?"
You glanced at Jongho who nodded at you, "I can close up, noona."
"Thank you, Jongho," you said, putting your handon his tricep appreciatively before taking your apron off and going to the back to leave it there and take your jacket.
The two of you were out of there in less than 5 minutes.
It was still raining, but you lived close by and would shower anyway, so there was not much harm in just ticking it out through the rain.
Seonghwa was silent, anxiety bubbling up in his throat as he thought about what he would say to you. Oh god, what if you didn't feel the same anymore? What if he had done irreparable damage to your relationship?
You touched his hand and he looked up at your worried expression sharply.
"You... you don't look like yourself? What happened, Seonghwa, are you okay?"
"Y/n...," he tried to form the words coherently, but he couldn't. He just let them spill out, hoping that they would make sense, that you would understand.
"My heart," he started, "It's been all over the place since I met you... and I've never felt like this before in my life. I thought it was motherly as your senior and as an omega, I thought it was just the desire to take care of you... then I kissed you and you started dating Yeosang, and I thought... I thought maybe my feelings were romantic..."
Your eyes couldn't help but widen at that. "I was so jealous, but when your employee told me you were on heat leave, the thought of you spending it with him... and I knew you had already slept with him, but sharing your heat- I thought- I don't know what I was thinking when I ran to your place, I didn't even know you'd broken up and I didn't even know what I would have said had he been there or not..., but you broke up with him and you took comfort in my arms... I thought maybe it really was the guiding motherly instinct in me. I thought that I was just misreading my feelings, so I stopped thinking about it."
"And I was happy," he almost started sobbing, "I was so happy being with you, even as just your friend. I was happy, and I thought there was no way my feelings from before made sense. I thought you liked alphas, and that even if I did like you there was no way you liked me back too. I was so sure... and then you told me... that you liked omegas, and you once had feelings for me... I didn't know what to do with myself y/n."
You looked at him helplessly. You couldn't tell if you were happy he was airing it all out to you or if you almost hated yourself in that moment. What if he words just resulted in him trying to just tell you that he felt guilty for hurting you and wanted to be friends again? That his interest in you really was a fluke?
"When I started developing feelings, I felt like there was something wrong with me..., I was almost relieved when I started believing my secondary explanation for it, but knowing those feelings weren't exclusive to me, that you felt that way and did so confidently... I felt wrong again, like all those feelings were coming back with the knowledge of your feelings fueling it."
You didn't want to say anything. Your paranoid heart felt like it knew how this was going to end. You felt as though he was blaming you for seducing him and making him feel wrong.
But that wasn't the case at all.
There was a pause where Seonghwa looked at your face, trying to decipher your expression through the rain.
"But nothing about this feeling is wrong," he whispered, "Nothing has ever felt more right in my life."
Your breath caught in your throat. Really? You thought, You feel that way, too?
"I'm sorry," he spoke again, wiping his wet bangs away from his face, "You said you stopped having feelings for me after Yeosang, and I- I'm dumping all this on you now when you probably don't feel the same about me anymore-."
"I love you."
Seonghwa's heart stopped when you cut him off and you looked at him helplessly again but this time with a pitiful smile on your face, "I don't know if that's too soon for you to hear, but I love you, oppa."
Seonghwa looked at you in genuine shock, "Y/n, but I-." "We're both going to catch a cold if we stay out in the rain, let's go inside, please."
You held your hand out, and Seonghwa slowly took it, following you silently to your apartment.
Before you could stall any longer, Seonghwa took your arms firmly in his hands and made you look at him.
"I love you, y/n," he said, "And... I was afraid, but I'm not afraid anymore. I love you, and I want to love you more than just in my heart. I want your heart to be mine, because my heart is already firmly in your hands."
Your lip wobbled at his confession and your hands came up to try and stifle your tears, but your sobs broke through anyway. It was almost childish, how hard you cried. Seonghwa pulled you into his arms, his own tears falling down his face as the weight of hiding your shared feelings finally lifted off of your shoulders.
Seonghwa pulled away for a moment to take your face in his hands, looking at you tenderly before leaning in to give you a sweet kiss. It was a thousand times more innocent than the ones you two had shared before, but so much more emotional.
Your legs would have given out under you if Seonghwa hadn't kept you upright. He detached your lips from yours with a lazy smile before pulling you by your hands to the bathroom.
"Let's freshen up and then go to bed, how does that sound?"
"Your not hungry?" you asked, dazed, as Seonghwa nonchalantly undressed you to shower with him. "Are you hungry?" he asked, putting his hand on your cheek, and you shook your head, making him smile, "Then we'll have a nice breakfast in the morning. I can cook for you or we can go out to eat. Does that sound nice?" You nodded again.
After undressing himself and leaving the both of you naked, Seonghwa pulled you into the shower to freshen up with him. Hands roamed each other, and as intimate as it was, it was just another thing that was normal to omegas, grooming each other. That included shared showers or baths. The only thing different between the two of you, though, was that as much as your hands explored each other for cleaning, your mouths explored each others' too.
Eventually, your skin started to prune, and Seonghwa took that as the cue to leave the hot water, much to your disappointment. He dried the both of you off with a towel before taking your hand and leading you to the bedroom this time. "Can you pick out some clothes for us?" Seonghwa asked, and you nodded, quickly picking out an oversized t-shirt for yourself, and some pants and a shirt for Seonghwa.
Soon enough, the both of you were situated in bed, tangled together with no clear organization. You just wanted to be together.
You opted to be without pants so that your skin could be closer to him, but... it still wasn't enough.
You placed your hands on Seonghwa's cheeks as he looked down at you with the most love you'd ever seen in a man's eyes and you leaned up to kiss him softly. "Mmmh, you want something. What is it, jagiya?" he asked, swiping your hair out of your face.
"I want you inside me," you whispered.
"Y/n... we just-" "I don't want to have sex, I just... I want to feel close to you," you mumbled, tucking your face into his neck, "This isn't enough... I want more."
"Okay, okay," he mumbled, kissing your ear. Underneath the blankets, and somehow without shifting positions too much, he pulled your panties off you and lowered the waistband of his pants so that his cock could be let out. He wasn't fully hard, but the thought of being inside you had his cock's attention.
"Are you even wet, baby? What if I hurt you?" he asked, and you shook your head. "Please," you whispered again.
He didn't argue further. You, in your sleepy haze, was wet enough to allow his dick to enter you. You both sighed in contentment when he was fully sheathed. You felt each other's pulse where you were connected, and you were finally satisfied. This was the feeling you had been craving for so long.
You fell asleep like this, distinctly finding comfort in his soft cock inside of you, but woke up with a different sensation.
"What a man," you giggled sleepily when the light of the sun fell on your face and you felt his shaft hard inside your walls despite him being asleep.
Seonghwa was still deeply asleep when you woke up, having faced away from the window, so you took the opportunity to admire his relaxed face. You didn't feel comfortable enough to do this when he'd stayed over before, and he often woke up earlier than you anyway, so it really was a surprise that you could watch him like this. He must have been so relaxed after getting everything off his chest yesterday. That, and the feeling of his length being enveloped by your warmth almost gave the effect of a weighted blanket, just on his lower region.
Seonghwa's lips were full and soft. His eye lashes were long, and pretty, and his skin was virtually flawless. You felt lucky, blessed even, that he wanted to be yours.
You could resist trailing a delicate finger down his cheek, accidentally coaxing him awake. When his eyes fluttered open and he registered you in front of him, that same loving look from last night returned, and, if his cock in you wasn't indication enough, you were assured that last night was real. Seonghwa loved you.
He was also embarrassed when he realized he was hard inside of you, blushing profusely. "Good- Good morning," he mumbled bashfully.
"Good morning," you replied, trying and failing to maintain a soft smile on your face. You were just so damn happy.
"Sorry about this," he chuckled, "Are you uncomfortable?"
"Not at all," you said, leaning up to touch the tip of his nose with yours making you both smith with your teeth. Seonghwa kissed your lips chastely, making you warm inside.
When his body fully woke up, he repositioned the both of you so that you were sat up on top of him while he rested against the headboard of the bed.
His hand rested on the small of your back and your hands were on his shoulders. Both of your bottoms had just removed themselves as you shifted through the night, leaving the only pieces of clothing separating you your shirts.
Seonghwa let his fingers dance underneath the hem of your shirt, moving it up a little farter with every soft rub of his hands against your hips. They wandered higher and higher until they reached the swell of your breasts. You watched his hands move underneath the shirt until that moment, looking at him from under your lashes without moving your head, as if asking, Well, are you going to take it off?
Seonghwa did not have to be silently asked twice. The sight of your perky buds did nothing to help his ever stiffening cock. He was an avid fan of nipples. The skin of the areola was soft, and he loved the feeling of it be it against his fingers or his tongue. While he didn't mind male or female, the added usefulness of a woman's breasts and the imagination that one day they might feed his children was riling him up further.
He was getting ahead of himself, but he couldn't stop the resulting groan at his thoughts. He kissed your neck, down to your collar bone as he palmed the bottom of your breast, his thumbs teasingly grazing along your nipples, making you bite your lip. He kissed you so that you'd release it, not wanting you to form any bratty bad habits.
He finally started paying more attention to the parts of your chest that you wanted him to, his mouth coming to leave open mouth kisses directly on one tit while his thumb and forefinger squeezed and rolled at the other. Your head titled, letting your hair fall to one side as you basked in his attention. Your walls were growing more moist by the second, and he was made very aware of the feeling of them loosening their death grip on his hardness. It hadn't been uncomfortable, but if he had tried to pull out of you, it most likely would have been a world of hurt.
Not that he wanted to pull out, though. He could stay inside you forever.
Instinctively, your hips started to roll, and he let out a breathy groan, a smile etching out onto his face as he threw his head back against the bedframe and looked at you.
"You're such a pretty girl. My pretty omega," he mumbled as he watched you work yourself on him. You flushed at the praise. You didn't have enough energy to properly ride him, but the slow and steady roll of your hips was enough for the both of you, wanting to prolong this feeling for as long as possible before inevitably having to leave the comfort of bed and wash up.
Seonghwa's hands moved to your hips to help you move, and soon enough your orgasm was building along with his. You usually needed more stimulation to reach your orgasm, especially the first time, but paired with everything else you were experiencing in the moment, his mouth on your breasts, his hands on your hips, his breath on your neck, his love for you, it didn't take him long to build you up until you were collapsing on top of him, the only indication of your climax as your breathy moans stayed consistent and quiet.
He was a lot more vocal than you, his almost pained sounds getting louder and more frantic as he reached his release. You kissed him as you felt him shudder and pour into you, riding out both of your highs.
"Mmmh, you're so sweet," Seonghwa said to you, capturing your bottom lip between his teeth, "I think the bedroom will be my favorite place to spend time with you, jagiya."
"Okay," you didn't argue with a teasing smile on your face, "I still have work today, though, we should get up."
"Come on," he drawled a whine, "It's Saturday, Jongho looked up, right? Let him open today, too. I want the first day of us to be just us. Please?"
His pout had you folding immediately. You couldn't deny that being this wanted by him felt too good to pass up. Perhaps you'd be more vulnerable to his pleas for now, as this was only the beginning, but you were in it for the long haul, and so was he. Things would change with time, and you were prepared for that as long as he was by your side.
"Fine, I'll call Jongho," you relented, "But remember you promised me breakfast." Seonghwa grinned, kissing you excitedly as he got up from the bed with you still on him and in his arms, taking you to the bathroom to shower.
You'd never felt more fulfilled in your life. You were finally happy.

a/n: Sorry this is really late... but I still wanted to publish it even if his birthday had already passed. Hope you enjoy reading and late happy birthday to Seonghwa!
The day had started beautifully. The early birds chirping, the sun shining down upon the newly bloomed flowers -a sign of spring's arrival-, and a gentle and fresh breeze blowing through the streets.
Well, it was a beautiful day for every person that could go out and enjoy it. For a sick Seonghwa, it already was a terrible birthday. Honestly, things weren't looking bright right now. Not only had he caught a cold right before spring's start, but the only comfort he could find in these trying times was missing. You were nowhere to be found. His carer, his guardian angel during the harsh and restless nights of endless coughing, had disappeared.
He had a vague idea as to where you could have gone, since he remembered having slightly awakened to your form telling him you'd go to buy some food for today's meal. Of course, he hadn't complained at that time, he had been half-asleep, his brain's clarity blurred by a dense fog of tiredness and you had promised to only take a few minutes before coming back to his aid. He had groggily waved you goodbye and had gone back to snoozing mode.
So now, his only question was, where exactly were you after three hours had passed?
Regrettably, since you were gone, he would have to make some food himself, in between sneezes and sniffing.
Struggling to rise out of his bed, slowed down by his sore muscles, he wrapped his blanket around his frame, letting it fall over his head, and slowly began to pat his way across the hallways.
To his surprise, when he arrived at his destination, the kitchen, he found plastic bags filled with food on the countertops. You really had gone and bought ingredients like you promised. He was glad he had some nutrients to feed his empty and hurting stomach, which had already growled in protest several times because of being forced to have breakfast at 2 p.m. Still, the sight only made him more confused as to where you could be.
Wrapped in his blanket burrito, he decided eating could wait. He had to call you now, the growing worry over you overpowering his hunger.
Retracing his steps back to your shared bedroom, he approached his nightstand. He recalled having left his phone charging there. But once again for a second time that day, he was surprised at the sight. Sitting atop his phone he found there to be a dull yellow sticky note filled with your handwriting. Picking it up, it read:
"Good Morning Babe!! I'm sure that by now you have noticed my absence (i hope) and were about to call me to find out where exactly i am right now. But fear not! I had to get some stuff done and I'll be back soon. P.S. Don't worry about the food, I know how much your muscles ache in the mornings so I cooked you some soup and left it in the microwave for you to heat up.
Promise not to take long!
Love you, Y/N"
Great, he still didn’t know where you were. But at least he figured you weren’t dead. Although he was still worried and not entirely convinced of letting the issue go and wait for you, his stomach once again reminded him he had slept through the morning without a bite or a single drop of water to satiate his system’s basic needs. Besides, his morning medicine was due and he couldn’t take it until he had something to eat, and being honest to himself, that soup you had mentioned in your note sounded really good right now.
Seonghwa reassured himself that you were doing just fine and once again walked towards the kitchen, now his ailments caused by the cold getting stronger as he woke up fully.
The idol heated the soup and sat on the table you used to share your meals together in the living room. His current plans were to eat, take the medicine, and sleep until Y/N arrived. Yep, what an amazing birthday.
Seonghwa wasn’t entirely disappointed by the day’s events. If you both could not go on your ‘Amazing Annual Date’ at your favorite restaurant today, you’d go when he was feeling alright again. Although he had a lot of work to catch up on, and he already felt terrible about missing out on it because of his illness, he could still take a day off for his birthday. Thankfully they all were taking a few rest days between practicing for any new comeback, promotions or concerts. He still had time to make up for the lost days. He loved you dearly and causing you to stay at home taking care of him was what actually hurt him the most about this whole ordeal.
Sighing, Seonghwa left the now empty dish in the sink, and slowly settled on the soft couch of your living room, gulping down his pills. He could doze off to an animal crossing gameplay or an old The Mandalorian episode until you arrived. Still wrapped in his blanket burrito, with the spring sun shyly peeking through the blinds, he was warm, the tasty soup having also added to his comfort. Seonghwa guessed that as soon as you arrived, the day could still look bright. Slowly, almost without him noticing, his eyelids began to drop and he allowed sleep to take him once more.
❁
A soft clanking of keys woke him up from his peaceful slumber. His brain wasn’t really registering what was going on, his previous dream continuing to play behind his closed eyelids. He even believed the sound was just a figment of his imagination, not trusting himself just yet.
“I’m back!” You announced, opening the door. At this, Seonghwa finally opened his eyes and started to force his body to start functioning once again. “Y…/N..?” He muttered drowsily.
“Oh! Sorry love, I didn’t realize you were sleeping. I’m sorry I woke you up.” You worriedly rushed to his side by the couch, feeling guilty from interrupting his much needed sleep.
Although Seonghwa could hear you approaching the couch, still facing away from you, he also could hear the rustling of heavy plastic bags. Curious and now aware of his surroundings, he turned to look at you. You, the love of his life, who was currently holding two giant plastic Lego bags. Star Wars Lego bags.
“What’s this, Y/N?” Said the male, his orbs lighting up at the sight. “Well…I felt terrible that you couldn’t enjoy your birthday due to your cold, so I thought I could cheer you up with some gifts we could build together.” You sheepishly answered him, raising the squared bags over your shoulder level.
Seonghwa was perplexed. You had disappeared for -he checks the watch- 4 hours?! and had gone off to store after store just to find him the best present you could to cheer him up. Oh god he loved you. Rising from the couch and letting the blanket he had draped on his shoulders fall, he ran to engulf you in a hug. “I love you so much.” Laughing gleefully at his sudden display of affection you asked him. “Do you like them? I got you The Razor Crest and-” turning your voice into a higher squeak, you continued- “the cutest Baby Yoda ever!”
Chuckling at your childish antics Seonghwa hugged you tighter to his weak form. “I love them, thank you darling. For this and for everything.” He answered you, now getting away from your figure, not wanting to risk passing his illness onto you.
“I’m glad. Now, you go back to the couch, I’m gonna organize the bags in the kitchen and brew you some herbal tea to start building the ship with you!” Gathering the two plastic containers, you left one on the tea table, and strangely, took the other with you to the kitchen, leaving Seonghwa slightly confused and shouting back an “I’ll be quick, you just don’t move!” He decided against questioning you for your weird actions, not thinking much of the happenings, and chose to start opening and arranging the lego pieces for when you came back.
❁
Minutes later -a little bit longer than he expected you to take- you emerged from the kitchen with a wooden tray, containing his favorite mug and a modern glass kettle. “Incoming!” Seonghwa scooped to one side of the couch, leaving you some room to sit, and making a small spot on the table to fit the tray. “Okay, now we can start.” You told him with a smile, settling on the cushion of the sofa.
Along with the soft background music Seonghwa had chosen from your shared playlist, you both started to browse through the blue booklet, which contained the instructions you had to follow in order to create The Crest.
In the middle of your lego building, the idol chose to address a matter that still bothered him to this moment. “I’m not at all complaining but, I just have to ask, what took you so long while shopping?”
“I’m not really proud of it but- can you disconnect these two please?” Handing him two small lego pieces mid-sentence, you continued as he took them in his hands. “I had to call Wooyoung so he could tell me which lego builds you already had. But that sneaky bastard decided to make me wait for him outside the dorms so I could take him for some Starbucks, instead of telling me over call. Starbucks I paid for, by the way. He’s lucky he’s my favorite.”
Seonghwa smiled brightly at this. He got so happy when you started to warm up to his members too, and seeing you get along so well with them made him content. Besides, he knew just what you were talking about, Wooyoung would always be Wooyoung. “You should really stop spoiling him like that, one day he’s going to come and make himself at home like we are not even here.”
“I know but, he knows just what to say to make me cave in, that kid. Anyway, after making me pay for his food, he accompanied me to the mall to get your gifts, so that’s why.” Now finally having cleared things up, you once again fell into a peaceful silence and conversed there and there, continuing to work on your craft.

Some hours later, when the sun had already hidden for the day, and the clock marked 10:08 p.m., your Razor Crest was at last finished. “Aaaaand, the last piece for the birthday king, c’mon you place it.” Seonghwa brushed your fingers and took the small, gray piece and with a satisfying ‘click’, fitted it onto the figure. “Done!” he clapped as he finished, you joining him. The male restrained himself from taking the enormous ship and doing the cute animal crossing move, not wanting the 4 hours of work from both parts to go to waste. Suddenly aware of having sat on the couch, crouched, for two long couple of hours, his muscles felt cramped and his bones ached, so he began stretching like a cat to get rid of his soreness. You got up and followed along, both of you beat from all of the work put into your piece.
Now both of you away from the sofa, having settled The Razor Crest in a glass cabinet you kept in the living room, admired it from your positions next to each other.
“It looks amazing.” He spoke.
“I hope building it didn’t make it worse for you. We spent a lot of time on it.” Resting your head on his shoulder you asked him. “Don't worry, I’m good. I had an amazing birthday after all.” You both smiled content.
“Before we call it a night, I have one last present for you.” After seeing you rush to the kitchen, Seonghwa could only hear some rustling noises you were making and wondered what you could be talking about.
Under the dim lightning of the room, you handed Seonghwa a carefully crafted lego flower, its stem green, white and soft pink petals settled on its top. “A flower for a flower.”
You couldn’t have chosen a more terrible pick up line. There really wasn’t, but as he picked it up, he smiled and chuckled brightly at you. And at that, unknowingly to him, lit up your whole world.
“So this is what you were doing when you disappeared in the kitchen… I could kiss you right now.” He told you, tightly gripping the plastic flower.
“I would love you to, but we still have to celebrate our ‘Amazing Annual Date’. Wouldn’t want to get sick for it. I’ll settle for a forehead kiss tho.” Grinning widely for getting what you wanted, Seonghwa gently grazed your forehead with his lips, in his mind, only a single thought remaining.
‘I only needed you and your love, to have a perfect birthday. Thank you Y/N.’
