finally, the hour had reached one’ o clock. it was time. time to meet your idol crush in the flesh for the first time, ever; surrounded by hundreds of staff, and most unfortunately, hundreds of cameras.

you felt your stomach twist and your knees shrivel up, knowing that every single second that passed by, you’d be a second closer to meeting seonghyeon. you had questioned why you were going so insane. you thought to yourself, “if i’m already going crazy whilst thinking of him, how will i be able to handle myself when i’m standing in front of him?” every single negative possibility or circumstance flew through your mind like clockwork; pondering constantly on anything bad that could happen, or if you’d embarrass yourself so horribly in front of him, you’d never be able to recover. you even went so far as to practice multiple greetings in your mind, whether you should wave, smile, or even just ignore him all together. or if completely ignoring him would make your crush on him blatantly obvious to him and his members.

as you were too deeply consumed by your own thoughts to be aware of your surroundings, it took multiple shoulder pats and leg kicks for you to come back to reality and realise one of your members was trying to get your attention. she was the leader of your group, luna.

“you”ll be fine”, she spoke softly. “just smile and look natural”. she was one of the few that knew about your insane infatuation towards seonghyeon, and ever since then, she had sworn to herself, and kept it within her to keep it a secret to the best of her abilities. she always knew how to make you feel as good as you could about your crush.

like it was fate itself or just an extreme coincidence, the door flung open. five handsome, well built boys flocked into the practice room.

but, as attractive as they all were, the first thing you had noticed wasn’t them: it was that there were no cameras. and no staff. you realised that your manager constantly reaffirming and reminding everyone of staff and cameras on this specific afternoon was just a plot in order to make everyone extremely wellbehaved and obedient today.

you felt a huge weight lift off your shoulders. it was like the heavens were on your side today, granting you with the advantage of meeting the eom seonghyeon for the first time with a slightly decreased chance of pissing your pants.

after a few minutes of the two groups exchanging greetings and making tiktoks, it seemed like there was a complete seperation between you and seonghyeon. you hadn’t even uttered one word to him, he hadn’t uttered one word to you and it seemed as if he was avoiding you like the plague. this was unbeknownst to everyone but you, incredibly obvious from the fact that he had greeted and spoke to every single person in your group with the exception of you. but you didn’t think too much of it for now.

as hours flew by, you had found yourself spending most of your time with keonho, the youngest member of cortis. he had the most ethereal prince like face that contrasted well with his extreme swagger and dominant prowess. the more you felt yourself interacting with with keonho, the more you felt seonghyeons eyes flickering towards you, and the more you guys were making eyecontact.

you found it weird how he seemed to be jealous even though he made no significant efforts to interact with you or even address you. however, being the kind and considerate person you were, you had thought that maybe it was just a result of him not noticing you, especially due to the large amount of members in your group. you gave him the benefit of the doubt, and just tried to ignore it.

you didnt realise it, but every few moments as keonho would say something to make you laugh, seonghyeon’s heart would break a little, and he would feel his hands balling up into fists; which was noticed by everyone in the room but you. you figured that if he didn’t care to speak to you, which he obviously did not, you tried to have as much fun as you could today.

you had finally reached the one month mark of your official debut. you never really thought you’d make it this far, especially due to your past self skepticism of your abilities as an incredibly inexperienced trainee under the most prestigious dance companies in korea, hybe. it had been such a short time, but you felt like you had experienced it all. the stages, the constant promotions on tiktok and youtube, the interviews, being bombared by fans in public, everything. it was quite lot to stomach within the space of under four weeks.

but you hadn’t even experienced the half of it. today was the day. the day that you had been dreading the most. the day that you and your group had been scheduled to meet cortis, bighits new boygroup.

your group had been scheduled in the main rehersal room, where you guys had been awaiting cortis’ arrival. you always wondered how everyone else around you always managed to stay so calm when it came to meeting new people; especially well respected idols in the industry. you had thought that because cortis were also rookies, you should be less intimidated. but you thought wrong. you had heard about them during your trainee days, where they had debuted sixth months before you did; and they had already racked up an immense fanbase ever since then.

but there was also something else. something deep, something powerful, known by only your members that you were determined to hide. from the fans, the staff, and especially, the company.

your eyes flew open, met with the constant ringing and blaring of your alarm clock positioned to the right of your bed. after you turned if off, you draped your arms around your bedside table, picking up your phone, only to be met with the time “7:30 AM” shown on the screen, and 20 new unopened messages from your group chat. this marked the first day of a new term at haltbrook high, the most admirable school in the state. you hauled yourself out of bed, extremely disinterested in the first day of school that awaits you.

by the time that you had taken your shower, eaten breakfast and exchanged goodbyes with your mother, the time had already reached 8:00 AM. you felt that the more you were NOT looking forward to this day the faster the time would get. you even thought to take the day off, to tell your mother that you had absolutely no interest to go to school today. and you knew that if you even bothered to actually ask, she’d let you. but, due to the increased number of absences you have been racking up over the past few school weeks, you thought it would be best to salvage whatever education you had at this point. and what would be worse than abandoning your best friends on the first day of the academic year? with a sigh of your shoulders, and a rather big exhale, you took off, up and out of the door like lightning.

it was only a short fifteen minute distance from your house to the school, with all of those fifteen minutes spent overthinking everything. despite everything being the same every single school year, you still had your occasional doubts from time to time. “what if i do something embarrassing” or “what if things dont go as planned”, you had thought. just as you thought you were going to be consumed by your worries, you had finally reached it. it was like time flew by.

and there it was. the tall, grey structure that lay before you, looming over the landscape beneath it, standing intimidating and proud. every new term, you found yourself never really being able to get over the burning shock in your eyes that you would recieve from the golden, blazing sunrays everytime you would look up all the way to the top. the feeling of uncertainty and terror never seemed to fully leave your bones.

you looked around to see students flocking to the main entrance with their friends, backpacks draped over shoulders lazily, girls with handbags stashed all the way up to the brim with school books, unnaturally eager for the day that lay ahead of them. your gaze briefly scanned every corner, trying to find any possible sign or hope of finding one of your friends. but then, it was as if time has stopped.

you saw the tall, angelic slim figure before you walking out of his car. eom seonghyeon. the heartthrob, the crush magnet, the desire of surprisingly many girls in school. he had perfect grades, was adored by literally every single living and breathing soul, and was insanely athletic. you had noticed that he had gotten a new haircut this term; it was perfect, not too short but not to long, with the most glorious middle part. it suited his perfectly. his lips were slightly parted, plump, pink and beautiful; cheeks a rosy pink, complimenting his milky white skin tone perfectly, with his long lashes fluttering every two seconds as he was getting out his school bag and laying his belongings on his car boot. you always wondered how he managed to make his uniform look so good on him, everything fit him perfectly. he always seemed to make the school uniform look a million times better than it actually was. the old tattered black and navy blue uniform you wore turning into suddenly, a million dollar high fashion piece when he was wearing it (this is literally just me glazing seonghyeon atp LMAOO)

suddenly, as if it was out of pure instinct, he turned around, his sparkly, dark brown orbs meeting yours instantly. you quickly turned around, praying that he didnt notice you checking him out; knowing that he probably did.

you just got caught checking out eom seonghyeon; the king of haltbrook high.
