You called me from the room in your hotel All full of romance for someone that you met And telling me how sorry you were, leaving so soon And that you miss me sometimes when you're alone in your room Do I feel lonely too?
You have no right to ask me how I feel You have no right to speak to me so kind I can't go on just holding on to times Now that we're living separate lives
Well I held on to let you go And if you lost your love for me, well you never let it show There was no way to compromise So now we're living (living) Separate lives
Ooh, it's so typical, love leads to isolation So you build that wall (build that wall) Yes, you build that wall (build that wall) And you make it stronger
Well you have no right to ask me how I feel You have no right to speak to me so kind Some day I might (I might) find myself looking in your eyes But for now, we'll go on living separate lives Yes for now, we'll go on living separate lives Separate lives

They haven't been good — they've only been absent. It has been easy to live with them because they're simply leading a life of their own.

Sorry I missed last week but I'm here again. What to say about this story? I doubt that there is still someone in the fandom that doesn't know it, but just in case someone has arrived new, I take this opportunity to recommend this classic. Lena did wonders with this fic, one of my favorites of all times for several reasons.
It takes place in one of the most inspiring periods for the fandom (Season 3B). She manages to portray perfectly both characters, Killian and Emma. It includes one of the most beloved original characters, Mac, unforgettable. And because Lena is brilliant and creative and I love her, ok?
I lost count of the times I've read Separate Lives and I'm sure that I'll do it again, but I remember with special fondness the first time I read it, when I waited impatiently for the updates and when I dropped everything I was doing, literally, and started reading. I still remember some scenes as if I had read them yesterday, such it’s the impact that this story had on me.
