A message and suggestion for @fateunwritten-if and pretty much every interactive fiction writer out there.

I first want to say that I am so sorry you’re getting these awful asks and harassments. I’ve only recently learned that this isn’t anything new and so many IF authors have deleted their story and blog in the past all because of things like this. Just know that myself and others fully support you and your art.

Regarding the suggestion. If you start to get harassment in your asks you should IMMEDIATELY turn off asks. I know some writers may feel bad about doing that but your mental wellbeing is more important than questions. And if you want to turn asks back on or if you really don’t want to turn asks off then I highly, HIGHLY suggest turning off Anonymous asks. All you have to do is go on settings -> scroll down -> and switch off “allow anonymous asks”. This allows people to still send asks but there will no longer be anonymity. I can almost guarantee that this will prevent most of the harassment that writers are getting.

And for readers that think doing that will be “unfair” and “annoying”. You’re exactly the type of people that writers need to avoid and turn off asks for :)

After Septic Saints, who I considered a friend, deleted their blog and story. I would hate to see something like that happen again to another of my favorite writers. So please. Take my advice ❤️ and be safe.

I hope the people who bullied Septic Sinners out of their passion have mild inconveniences happen to them every minute of every hour. Like stepping on a lego, hitting their toe on a corner, warm pillow case, etc. Suffer…genuinely suffer.

Did they ever talk about the hates happening on their account?

I’m really sad about it too. Yven was honestly such a refreshing and hilarious person. And they did! They talked about it a few times and were telling people to stop being weird and people kept calling them emotionless and to “act like a person” even though Yven was super sweet and passionate about the project. And then came the weird flirting (bordering on sexual harassment) asks which they also told people it made them uncomfortable. They also made posts about what asks they were comfortable with and which ones they weren’t which people blatantly ignored 🙄 it was bad. People can be brutal for no reason.

here i am mourning the loss of the author septicsaints, and i find your account with fanart of their characters💔 YOUR ART IS SO GOOD but I miss the author, people can really destroy someone's creativity by just being a freakazoid☹️☹️. I really hope they someday republish the demo (even if if they don't finish so i can replay it over and over.) AND SORRY IF THIS IS SOO OFFTOPIC, your art was just too fantastic and im totally following to see more, but im lowkey crying all over again

No I get it. That’s why I don’t plan on deleting the art. I want there to be happy memories of septic saints and I had so much fun because of Yven and their story and I truly wish them the best. And thanks a lot for compliments!

RIGHT?? Their humor was so on par with my own and others. Truly a breath of fresh air. It’s why I got hooked so fast. They were very no nonsense and logical but once you would get to know them they were so pure hearted, passionate and kind. Oh my god they will be so dearly missed.
