Collider: "You Just Wanna Do Your Best Job": Sarah Shahi Reveals if Zahra Returns in the 'Red White & Royal Blue' Sequel [Exclusive]
Collider's Christina Radish recently sat down with Shahi for the Sterling K. Brown-led political drama Paradise. Radish asked about Shahi's potential involvement in the Red, White & Royal Blue sequel. She confirms, "Yes, I actually am returning for the sequel. Zahra is back."
When the press tour for Red, White & Royal Blue had been cancelled, Shahi had her reservations about the movie's success. Shahi explains it best that, "it’s hard to tell when you’re on the inside how something is gonna be received. You just wanna do your best job." She knows, "You don’t think about whether or not the audience is gonna like it or not. That’s not up to you. You don’t have any control over it." To her surprise though, the movie was a smash hit with audiences. Shahi explains, "It’s still managed to break records and shatter the platforms that Amazon had at that point. I had never seen that coming. It did in one night what they thought the film would do at its best in three weeks. It was just huge." Shahi attributed the movie's success to the initial fame of McQuiston's book and the fanbase that garnered as well as director Matthew López, and the cast.
