Story
My father-in-law makes these for family functions so I got the recipe off of him. Every time that I make these and take them to an event, they are a hit.
Ingredients
1/2 LB Ground Chuck
1/2 LB Bacon
1 Cup chopped Onion
1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
1/4 Cup Granulated Sugar
1/4 Cup Ketchup
1/4 BBQ Sauce
2 TBSP Mustard
2 TBSP Molasses
1 tsp Chili Powder
1 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Pepper
1 (16oz) Can Dark Red Kidney Beans
1 (16oz) Can Butter Beans (can substitute Northern Beans)
1 (16oz) Can Pork and Beans
Method
Brown Beef, Bacon and Onion then add all but beans and mix. Add Beans and Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or you can brown the Beef, Bacon and Onion and mix EVERYTHING in crockpot and cook on low 6-8 hours. To double the recipe, double everything except for Butter Beans.
Story
I hate the store-bought Sloppy Joe Sauces and played around with this recipe until I came up with one that I liked.
Ingredients
1.5lbs of Lean Ground Beef
1 Cup of Ketchup
1/2 Cup of your favorite BBQ Sauce
1/3 cup Brown Sugar
2 TBSP Mustard
2 Green Peppers
1 Small Onion
Salt and Pepper to taste
pack of buns
Method
Brown and drain ground beef. While browning Ground Beef, diced onion, and green peppers. Once beef is browned, add all ingredients together and let simmer on low heat for 5-10 minutes stirring occasionally.
