Ice queen cometh (open rp)

"Remember, Serena... just focus." The ice troll said to herself as she posed herself into a battle stance, thrusting her hand forward as an icicle shot out from her hand. Doing it again with her other hand and kicked her feet as vertical lines of ice shot out. Smiling, she made fists with her hands and thrusts them forward with as much force as she can, creating a large line of ice as they appear from the ground, sticking out in random, jagged ways all the way across the forest.

After a while, the ice began to fall apart and melt away as she grinned, breathing in and out slowly as Serena prepares for a move she's been practicing ever since she first done it on accident. This time, though, she wants to go all out. Making her right hand into a fist, she screamed and slammed down onto the ground beneath her as she creates a very large crater of jagged ice, spanning across a few acres from where she is.

Standing back up, Serena was actually proud with how well she's been able to control her ice abilities. The height of her makeshift ice crater was massive and she quickly made a ice pillar beneath her, extending all the way up in the sky to see how far it went. She was surprised with how big the crater she created. It practically knocked down a good amount of the trees and sent them flying much farther than where they were previously. "Oh wow..." Serena whispered to herself as she retracts back down to ground level and let the ice fortress of a crater crumble apart and melt.

Just a casual stroll (open rp)

Serena walked through the city. She needed to have some alone time after spending some time with her friend, Janyse. The air is cold as her breath is able to be seen from the chilling breeze. To Serena, it feels like nothing considering that she has the ability to create ice. It's still awkward for her to wear nothing to keep her warm since everyone else she's passing through have some sort of coat on. They are possibly thinking she's insane going through in her regular outfit in this cold.

The ice troll wandered through the city, getting a bite to eat while she was at it and then decided to head to the park. She needed a break. This was possibly the most she has walked.

Arriving at the park, she finds a bench and sat down, slouching back on it and groaning. "I'd use my ice powers to slide my way around... but that would be dangerous for everyone around me." Serena muttered to herself. Bringing her head forward, she pulls out her phone and began to scroll through it. "Hmm... I wonder what Jai and the rest of my buds must be up to. Haven't spoken to them in a while."

Ice and lightning

"Serena, I know that you never mean any harm. I know that for sure. You will find out how to control your powers though it's not going to be easy. Remember that. I know that you care about me. And I care about you, too. Just know that I'm patient enough to have us be together forever. Whenever you are ready, I will greet you with open arms. I love you, Serena. Don't forget that. Ever."

Those words. Serena remembered them dearly. Janyse Marcan. When Serena discovered that she had powers, it became unstable, unpredictable of when it would happen and during that time, she admitted her affection towards Janyse. Frightened, however, she refused to be anywhere near her, afraid that she might hurt Janyse. Janyse told her those exact words and she couldn't have asked for someone willing to wait for her.

Even then, she doesn't know if she is the right person for her. The ice troll is in a muddle of confusion and doubt. Part of her heart is towards the first person she laid eyes on to begin with, but another part of her is longing for someone new. She doesn't even know if what she's thinking makes sense. Serena hiked up towards the mountains where Janyse lives, finally remembering which mountain it was after all this time.

Reaching the top, she spots the only hive that is integrated into it the cliff face. The air at the top is thin, hard to even breathe. How does someone like Janyse even get used to living this high? Serena stopped at the front of the home to catch her breath, sitting on the ground for a while to calm herself down and to adjust with the new setting of the mountain top. "Jeez, Jan... I love you, but... live somewhere that isn't gonna kill me slowly." She whispered to herself in between panting.

After a couple of seconds or so, she finally got adjusted, standing back up and stared at the door for a moment. She's nervous. How could she explain something like this to her? Would she even understand? Only one way to find out. Extending her hand in front of the door, she hesitated for a minute, then knocked, quickly jerking her hand back. The ice troll stepped back a little, waiting for anything. Maybe she isn't home? Serena thought to herself.

As soon as she thought that, she hears footsteps and then the door knob turning and the door opening to reveal beauty herself right in front of her. If anything, Serena could've sworn that there was some majestic light behind Janyse as the door opened as if she was meeting a goddess. Possibly her eyes playing tricks on her. The cerulean blood smiled and surprised to seeing Serena at her front door. "Serena! Wow, I... I didn't expect you to come." She said. "I thought you could never find the mountain I lived in."

"Well... it took a while. Process of elimination if you know what I mean." Serena chuckled nervously.

Janyse only laughed and they both stood at the front entrance for quite a while, in pure silence until Janyse finally moved out of the way. "Um... come inside! I made some hot chocolate if you want any."

"That would be nice." Serena walked inside as she hears the door close behind her. The inside of Janyse's home is very quaint. It's almost like a cottage on the inside. Odd how deceptive it can be on the outside when it's part of a cliff of a mountain.

"Please, take a seat on the couch and I'll get the hot chocolate." Janyse went off into the kitchen as Serena sat on the couch. The living room is primitive, but it works for someone like Janyse. It seems electricity is no problem considering that Janyse is able to produce it on her own. She's able to see light bulbs in places where they should be but instead uses candles. Possibly for the day time and to keep herself warm at this high altitude. Soon enough, Janyse comes back with two cups of hot chocolate, placing them on the coffee table and sat next to Serena. "Well, hello, Miss Ice Queen. It's been a while since I last saw you."

"Yeah, it has." Serena says as she carefully grabs her cup and blew a bit of cold air at the top to cool it down a bit.

Janyse watched and is surprised by it. "Serena... you're able to control your powers?"

The ice troll had her left hand free as she lets it becomes frosted over up to her elbow and then letting it melt away. Serena looked at Janyse with a grin. "Yup. They're pretty much a part of my emotions. Learned it not too long ago. During the times that I was scared using my powers, it just became unpredictable because of how mixed my thoughts and feelings were about them. So that's why they were like that. But after learning that, I've been practicing with it and seeing what I can do. You should've seen me. One time, I literally made a large crater of ice. It was huge!"

"Really? You're lying."

"It's literally true! I was even surprised that I had to make a tower to see how high it was and how far it went. It's as if an asteroid came crashing down on Alternia..."

"But in ice."

"Pretty much!"

Janyse let out a chuckle and took a sip of her hot chocolate and sets it down on her coffee table. "So... other than that... does that mean you're here what I think you came all the way up here for?"

Serena stayed silent, setting her cup down and looked at Janyse square in the eyes. "Yes... and no..."

"What do you mean?" Janyse wondered, tilting her head slightly in confusion.

"I... I did come here for the reason you're thinking of. I want us to be together... forever! But... at the same time. I also want someone else, too. Over time, I have been just confused over this topic. I love you... but I also want someone else to love me, too? Or find someone else to share my love towards? It's really hard to explain and to not let it sound like I'm some kind of slut or something... do you... understand what I mean?"

"I think I-"

"No, you don't... oh god, oh god, oh god. I was afraid that this would happen. I walked all the way up here and during that time I kept thinking that you might be a bit angry over this and-"

"Serena! Calm down." Janyse interrupted with a warm smile. "I do understand. I know what you're trying to say."

"You... you do?" Serena was baffled to hear this. Not something she was expecting at all.

"Yes. You want to be in a matespritship, but with multiple partners instead of just one. They exist. And... I wouldn't mind that at all if someone else you find along the way is fine with it, too."

Serena slowly beamed to life, her feet freezing the floor from this sudden feeling. Janyse noticed and just pointed down to her feet as the ice troll realized it and the ice began to melt away beneath her. "I'm... I'm sorry!" and after she said that, she is met with a sudden kiss to the lips which made her blush brightly. Taking in everything, she closed her eyes and then pulled away, opening them as Janyse did the same. "I love you so much..."

"I love you too." Janyse held her hand and then brought her to stand up and led her outside. "I want to us to do something. This was an idea I have been thinking up for a while and I was actually waiting for you to learn how to use your powers to do this."

"What... are we going to do?"

"You know that I can produce storms whenever I call upon my lightning, right?"

"Yes...? What does this have to do with me?"

"You're able to produce ice! What if we can combine our powers to make it snow?"

"... Can... can we do that?" Serena was uncertain about this. This is the first time she's hearing about this.

"Well, there's only one way to find out. Grab my hand." Extending her hand out to Serena, the ice troll grab a hold of it as they both looked off into the landscape before them. From the height they're in, they were able to see acres of forests and the lights of the city far off, the greeny hills of the plains, and the peaks of other mountains across the way. The sight was beautiful. Serena could understand why Janyse lives up here now. "Now... I want you to focus. Let the frost go to my hand. Don't be afraid of hurting me. I'm going to produce my electricity and you are going to feel that, too. Endure it. Keep at it and we can make it snow..."

Serena breathed in heavily. Exhaling slowly. She began to produce frost on the hand that's holding Janyse's, letting it spread down to hers as she begins to feel a tingle in her body, in fact, she's feeling her muscles tightening a bit knowing that her electricity is being produces. From there, she could hear the roars and claps of thunder and lightning. A bolt of lightning hit Janyse once. Twice. Three times. Each of those times, Serena fought through the pain and kept a hold of the cerulean blood as she watched the clouds in the sky form together, graying and soon the rumbles and roars fade away as she sees a single snow flake slowly fall from the sky. Then a second. A third. Fourth. Fifth. Then many, many more. Serena couldn't believe her eyes as she looked at Janyse amidst the falling snow. The cerulean blood had the biggest smile on her face. "I want to spend 12 perigees eve with you..." Serena said.

"As do I." Janyse reached her arms out, wrapping them around the ice troll. "Wow... you're really cold up close."

"Though you still warm up my heart..."

"... Now that's just cheesy." Janyse embraced her in a hug. "But I love you being cheesy."

"I love you, too."

Thought. Visualization

"So how has your practice going, misses frosty?" Janyse said with a chuckle. Serena sat next to her on a toppled tree. She didn't look amused.

"What do you think?" Serena exclaimed in frustration. "It's been terrible. I wanted Arcana to help me, but... I just can't. I keep thinking all these scenarios that could happen. Every time I'm out in public, I'm just scared... I'm scared all the damn time!" She frowned, bowing her head down as the frost underneath her feet began to slowly spread.

Janyse sat next to her, thinking for a moment and looked over down at her feet. After a moment of silence, she got up and stepped a couple of feet away from Serena. "Get up. Let's practice and figure this out."

Serena looked up at her, eyes widened from the sudden demand. "No... no! I won't!" She yelled.

"Come on, Serena." Janyse pleaded genuinely. "I can take it! I've dealt with worse. Hell, I was struck by lightning for gods sake!"

Sitting there, Serena thought for a moment, but gathered the courage and stood up, fists raised in the air in front of her. Janyse grinned, readying herself for the first attack. "Try to focus. Concentrate! Give it to me!"

Serena stood there, unsure, but she didn't want to hurt her friend. Closing her eyes, she threw a punch and expected ice to come out from the ground and travel to Janyse, though nothing came out. Janyse stood there, frowned and crossed her arms in front of her chest.

"I can't do it!" Serena yelled. "I can't fucking do it!" Frost spread quickly beneath her feet and it grew behind her, growing up into spikes of ice.

That was the moment Janyse realized something, which is similar to what she had to deal with with her own powers. "Serena, I want you to tell me, what you were thinking?" Janyse questioned.

"Wha-what?" Serena said in confusion. "What does that have to do with me not knowing how to control my abilities?!"

"Calm down. Just tell me." Janyse said, smiling.

Serena stood there, sighing heavily and gave in. "I... I-I was thinking of not hitting you."

Janyse instantly smiled and snapped her fingers. "There you go! That's your problem! All this time you have been thinking of not hurting anyone with your abilities. That day when you were at a public pool, you were just thinking of how nice the water is and the ice formed onto that. It's thinking and visualizing, Serena! It's the same with my abilities!"

Thinking for a moment, Serena was lost by the idea. Could it actually be the problem with her not controlling her abilities fully?

"Alright, I want you to close your eyes and take a deep breath." Janyse said. "Visualize me in front of you and think of attacking me. And again, I can take it."

Preparing herself, Serena got into her stance, closing her eyes and taking in a deep breath. Think. Visualize. In an instant, she quickly opened her eyes and brought her fist in the air as a rush of spikes of ice pop out from the ground and spread towards Janyse. Surprised by the sudden attack, Janyse blocked herself and a shield of electricity, blocking the spikes of ice as it cracks and crumbles in front of her. As it stopped, Janyse had the biggest smile on her face.

Serena stood in awe of what she had done. "I... I did it... I did it!" She yelled happily and jumped for joy.

"I knew you could do it, my ice queen." Janyse said and walked back to her.

"Janyse... thank you so much. I don't know how to thank you other than just saying words..." Serena said, crying happily.

"You can thank me by just practicing and keep being yourself." Janyse responded, bringing Serena in a hugging embrace. "I'm so proud of you."

Serena cried into Janyse's shoulder, hugging her back. For sweeps, she couldn't understand how to control her abilities and it was all in thought and visualization which she had been subconsciously doing all this time. From this point on, Serena will be practicing. Harder and every day.

Wrong turn (closed rp/shenktrolls)

A simple hike. Though this is Serena’s first time hiking. From what she remembered, Janyse lives on top of a mountain that has constant thunderstorms on top. From the looks of it, it doesn’t seem like the right one. Or maybe it is and she remembered wrong. She should’ve asked her where on the map she had.

Close to making it towards the top, it was either continue going or hiking all the way back down. She’s gone this far and might as well continue to see if it really is her friend’s place. If not, then it’ll be awkward for her. After a couple more minutes of hiking she finally made it and comes across a hive. It was quiet. Peaceful, even. Walking up to the door, she knocked once, half hoping someone would hear and half hoping someone didn’t hear it. At this point, she doesn’t want to make a fool of herself if it’s the wrong place.

Frigid static

“So... besides creating a gigantic ice crater in the middle of a forest... I’m taking you’ve been doing well?” Janyse said, looking at Serena next to her.

“Um... yeah. I guess...” Serena said timidly, trying to stop her abilities from going off. After telling her everything that had happened to her, she didn’t expect to be seeing her old friend again. She doesn’t know how long it must have been since they both talked. Possibly a couple of sweeps. As they both sit on the cliff side of a mountain, overlooking the landscape below, Serena turned to look at her. “I... met someone nice.”

Janyse glanced at her, smiling from the mention of it. “You have? Are they as pretty as me?” She teased, grinning at Serena as she sees the blush appearing on the ice troll’s face.

“U-Uh... fairly... equal.” Serena answered. “She’s just... someone I met randomly. Though in a very weird way we both met each other. She was doing a silly dare and I just... happened to be accidentally a part of it.”

“A dare, huh? Probably should’ve thought of that to get you to kiss me the first time.” Janyse smirked, looking back at Serena as she sees the poor troll blushing even brighter. “You’re so adorable, Seree... um... Serena?”

“Yes?” She looked at Janyse, the blush still on her face as she continued to try to hold back everything, not wanting her powers to just go off.

“Are you sure you still don’t want to be with me? I don’t care about your powers. I could probably help you.” She said with a concerned look, placing a hand on Serena’s shoulder though the ice troll shrugged it off.

“I’m sorry... but I don’t want to hurt you. I don’t want to hurt anyone. I don’t want to ruin... anything.” She frowned, staring down at the ground below.

They were both silent. Looking over at the horizon as the wind howled, sending a cool gust of wind towards their direction as the clouds began to form together, hiding the sky and the bright sun. It wasn’t until long that Janyse broke the silence, turning to her friend and questioned her. “What’s their name?”

The question was very sudden and Serena didn’t know how to properly answer it. She tried to think of something else but thought of nothing and eventually answered. “Arcana...”

“... Have you spoken to her lately?”

“... No... I haven’t. I don’t want to ruin her life with my sudden bursts. I just can’t.”

“... Do you like her?”

“... Yes... but I like you, too.”

Janyse smiled, she leaned in next to her, softly grabbing the ice troll by the chin and turning her head around, kissing her straight on the lips. The kiss was something Serena wasn’t expecting. Probably would have warmed her up with how much she was blushing. It was too late to even pretend to be fighting it as she brought herself to kiss her back, even enough to fall backwards with Janyse on top of her.

They stopped eventually, looking at each other as Janyse got off of her, fixing her glasses as she smiled. Serena got back up, smiling as well until a sudden ice spike appeared from the ground behind her which made her let out a squeak.

Janyse just laughed with Serena pouting, blushing from embarrassment.

“Seree. I think you found out your solution. It’s probably corny to say this, but you didn’t set off your powers once when you were with me even when I kissed you. Maybe the little case of love have something to do with it?” She said, smiling still.

Serena thought nothing of it. Possibly just coincidence. Though it’s something she might think over one day. Maybe the thought of someone she likes could help her gain control of her powers? She has tried everything and nothing ever worked. Even emotionally... but maybe not all emotions.

Chilly visit

>You walked and followed the coordinates on your phone to the place you needed to be. Arcana wouldn’t give the wrong coordinates on purpose, right? Maybe by mistake. Who knows. You finally arrived at a hive, looking around for a moment and stood there of not knowing what to do. Are you even at the right place?

also, I think I’m gonna keep making more differences between Merlee and her alternate by just having her alternate have things that normal Merlee would NEVER, EVER wear or have like tattoos. she hates them. but Meryna likes tattoos. pretty much she’s a polar opposite of regular Merlee
