Steve wore his wedding ring around his neck during missions. He didn’t want to lose it but it didn’t do well on the field to have a wedding ring on if it wasn’t to play couple with someone else. Plus it kept Bucky close to him at all times. He knew his job didn’t allow much for love. Always away, hiding what he was doing for a living, keeping emotions at bay. Somehow, he found himself in the man that was perfect for him and seemed to be okay with Steve’s fake job calling him in lots of meetings internationally. Bucky himself was a busy man. But they still found time for themselves and even got married. Something Steve never expected but felt natural with Bucky. While Steve was hiding part of himself, he still felt like they knew each other since forever.
This mission was a normal one. Go in a foreign country, retrieve information before an enemy country gets it, tie up loose ends. It wasn’t the first time Steve went to Hong Kong, stayed the night in the English part of the city. His mark was in the middle part of the city, with the best tea in Hong Kong. Once he got his order, he went for his mark but someone else got it. He could’ve sworn it was Bucky, but STeve put it on him missing his husband. But he still went after the stranger. He followed him into an alley, only to be face to face with the man he married. Both of them pointing a gun at the other.
