watching spiderverse 2 and thought of spiderman!sergey and spiderwoman!asya hanging out, wondering how they're both spiderpeople. obvious answer is they're from different universes. two options:
both the spider kids lost their respective cousins in their universes. same hat (tragedy)
spider!asya takes inspo from fallen au and was separated from her extended family when she was young, so she never had a sergey in her life and was extremely worse off for it. spider!sergey meanwhile had an asya but she died. different hats (tragedies)
idk which i like better though i'm leaning towards 2 right now
sergey and asya like to play video games together and have since they were kids. oftentimes sergey is the one playing with asya happily vibing, but when they were little she'd take over sometimes for scary games if sergey got too spooked. not that she WASN'T spooked herself, she could just be brave for her cousin.
sergey was big into sonic as a kid so it was finally time to design his sonic fan character. version one is the original design he had in like elementary school, version two is the redesign he did in middle school. he hadn’t realized he was a boy yet so he had to argue with people that his character was totally a girl, girls can have short hair and wear stuff other than skirts, stupid, I’M a girl and that’s how I dress!! which, yes, true, but also. sergey. honey.
version one probably just shared his deadname. version two either used the diminutive he preferred to go by for a while, or something like. hm. alex, actually. got there from a pun based on his deadname leading to alexandrite leading to alex. it’s perfect, pun-based and gender neutral name. alex the fox. wait no, spelled aleks since russian. don’t worry that aleks is a boy’s name it SOUNDS like alex which is unisex so it’s like basically the same! don’t worry about it!!
bottom pic is sergey finding his old sketchbooks and immediately needing to show diego. he doesn’t REALLY think this stuff is cringe but what better way to get diego’s attention
