According to Sergio Osmeña, the key to running the Philippines is a well-played game of ‘Nanay, Tatay’
TODAY IN HISTORY: On February 27, 1945, General Douglas MacArthur turned over control of the civil government of the Philippines to President Sergio Osmeña.

The Photogenic MacArthur Landing/s?
One of the funny facts in Philippine history is the much-romanticized landing of General MacArthur in the Philippines on that fateful day of October 20, 1944 in Leyte. The American general promised the people of the Philippines in 1942 that "I shall return" as he left the island of Corregidor for Australia. As history would have it, MacArthur indeed returned, together with the new President of the Philippine Commonwealth Sergio Osmena and Carlos P. Romulo (that small guy in some of the pictures above). But not without a good angle from the paparazzi.
Apparently, the landing was 'commanded' to be repeated several times to make sure that the cameras take a great snapshot of the historic event. Lol. Take a look at the pictures yourself and see how these men kept on changing their pose and positions! My favorite picture was when Carlos P. Romulo turned up right smack in the middle of the photograph.
