aw man this was so fun. love campfires (even though the campfire is... offscreen for this. whoops) and these two were really fun to draw!

five rumors

For our Sergioland characters, the crew agreed to complete this post about them-- so here are 5 rumors 2 good, 2 bad, one false about Foxbane :) 

Good 1: There’s a rumor in the resistance camp about a protective figure with firebrand powers who makes the best damn soup anywhere. this true. 

Good 2: This is more so ‘good’ for her-- but she’s mainly rumored dead as her previous self, Captain Karish. 

Bad 1: This is somewhat ‘bad’ (murder!) but would certainly be perceived as ‘bad’ by members of Naistar society-- it’s rumored that the outlaw known as Foxbane killed a middling-ranking sheriff for intimidating an older woman who was protesting (this is Cici)

Bad 2: There are whispered rumors that she has firebrand powers and that they come out when she’s upset or angry. This is more or less true, though she has more power over it than is suggested by these rumors. 

False: It was rumored she experimented on members of her own side when she was designing chemical weapons for the war. The weapon itself was very slightly tested as a poison on small animals. For the most part it was untested when her side used it.

guten morgan

thought: probably when morgan joins the crew, he’s used to dressing rooms and mirrors and carefully curating his appearance every day, and expecting everyone else to do the same.

so when he’s suddenly out in the middle of some blasted desert, it’s a bit of a struggle to maintain a sense of propriety.

the first morning out, he manages to change clothes under his blanket and it takes a LONG time and it’s frustrating and it’s not nearly up to his standards but by god, he has done it.

right at the tail end of this process, carter finally wakes up, stretches, and rolls out of his bedroll in nothing but shirt and longjohns and gets some coffee.

morgan turns from carter to foxbane, aghast, and hisses, “where are his clothes he is INDECENT”

and foxbane just sighs and says, “yyyyeah, he’s just…………like that”

“You look lonely and lost.”

Foxbane nearly jumps out of her skin, even though the voice is petal-soft. The speaker is lucky that flames don’t burst out of her hands, she’s so damn strung out. 

“Who’s there?” the fact that even her razor-keen instincts can’t spot out where the voice comes from sends her heartbeat up a few notches. Good god, she’s barely got a decent weapon.

“Here,” a woman near melts out of the underbrush, exactly where Foxbane is looking at the moment. Oh good gods. A witch.

“Well,” she lowers her raised fists carefully, the thought humming in back of mind that she’s always got a weapon on her. Herself.

“I think lost implies I was going someplace in the first place.”
