Seriatim & Sirius

Character Backstory TW: discussion of death, serial killers, self-harm behavior, mentioned active shooters, mentioned pedophilia, mentioned abuse
Seriatim and Sirius are practically the same character from different universes. They're both Serial Killers on missions to clean the world of violent or abusive partners. They have terrible no-good elf harmy habits, seducing the worst dirt bags they can find and tolerating abuse until they snap and murder them. This is of course destroying their psyche target by target - but they're very good at pretending otherwise, mostly because before they became serial killers, they worked as deep cover seduction spies, and were recruited Very young and trained most of their lives to do what they do. They both opperated under the alias of Snow Leopard, recruited as young children for demonstrating level headedness and cleverness and ruthlessness, scouted for recruitment after causing the death of an active shooter (Seriatim in a School setting, Sirius in a Terrorism setting).
The biggest difference between Seriatim and Sirius starts with time- Sirius was born in 1936, well before the CIA forms, so when he's recruited for work the regulations for his training and operations are very... uncontrolled, and some of his first years in field work involve WW2 work, before he was pulled back to Domestic Work and spent most of his time prior to 'Retirement' on missions sniffing out corrupt authorities.
Seriatim has a less 'historical' and strict time age, mostly just placed in whatever year is the current year. Unlike Sirius, he never really got pulled back to Domestic work, and has operated in both war zones and peace time areas targeting high level officials. He wasnt quite placed in the field as early as sirius was, but they both specialized when they were younger in tracking, relaying information on, and assassinating Targets with 'youthful' preferences. When Sirius aged out of that work at 20, he moved domestic, but Seriatim remained an international agent and adjusted to Targets interested in his age range.
Sirius and Seriatim become serial killers when without warning they are suddenly decommissioned as Spies. Considering they've been in training since they were Children - as young as 4 years old - they are estranged from any family they have, have no place they consider safe, and no contacts they're allowed to communicate with, and most of their earning were sent to said estranged family (as they both presumed to be spies until they died) and thus don't really have a 'retirement fund' and their identities haven't really existed since they were children, so they have no credit, no job history, no references.
They also have no purpose or any sort of self value outside of what they used to do: assassinating dangerous and terrible people. It's hardly a surprise they devolve to Serial Killers with no support and no control of their lives- they go back to doing what they've been trained to do their entire lives. This time, their mission is their own.
(Sirius, at least, has a predestined happy ending. He gets a 'husband' (who he cant actually openly marry because period typical homophobia) who is very supportive and finds a new purpose, although he's still Very unstable. It's hard to be a normal person that has to follow the law of not murdering assholes now that your a reforming serial killer and no longer have the sanction of the government to kill discreetly. He Ironically becomes a Homicide Detective, in a city where he'd previously worked undercover and assassinated a corrupt police chief.)
(Seriatim isn't having much luck finding a happy ending so far. He has a not-boyfriend-boyfriend that isn't an asshole, and while Seriatim's not exactly working on himself, like, at all... baby steps. Boyfriend who isn't terribly abusive and that he doesn't intend to kill is a step toward Sirius' happy ending?)
Notes: - They are both incredibly adaptable in picking up fake personas and keeping track of the 'masks' they are using. - As a result, and also because of intense personal personality compartmentalization, they really dont know themselves well. They dont know what their favorite food is, or their favorite color, or anything about their 'preferences' and such things havent mattered since they were kids, and they've adapted so many personalities where such 'facts' changed. -When operating as Agent Snow Leopard as adults, they dyed their hair silver-white; Sirius did so to accommodate the Bleach-Blond Craze of the era considered attractive, and Seriatim to lean into the 'exotic' favoring of his Targets. This includes dying eyebrows and pubic hair. -They also wore blue contacts for similar reasons; the addition purpose of the contacts and hair dye was that both details were very identifiable, and if they needed to become anonymous quickly, they could remove the contacts or re-dye their hair. It also served to distance their 'civilian' identity from their Active identity if they ever decomissioned or were temporarily made inactive. -When they became serial killers after decomissioning, they resumed dying their hair and wearing blue contacts, as they consider themselves 'Still On A Mission'. When Sirius settles down to reform post-serial-killer, he tentively stops using them. -They are both incredibly Paranoid, and suffer Severe PTSD. -They've both murdered their own fathers. -Part of their 'snow leopard' motief theme is their 'spots'; i.e. several Cigarette burns along their chest and especially their back. If asked, they'll claim it's a Kink of theirs. It's really really not. -They tend to target / investigate people who Smoke as possible victims. -Despite their 'specialty' as Seduction agents and their frequent use of seduction and sex toward anyone of any gender, they're both probably Aspectrum. They don't know that about themselves, and probably wouldn't care. They see sex as a task, as a job, as work. -They never flinch unless they're acting. -They're both in their 30s. -if they met, they'd be so uninterested in each other outwardly, but Seriatim would loathe Sirius way more than would be returned. -They're both very mix heritage, but most notably, of Samoan and other various Pacific descent. Seriatim never cared much for this detail, but Sirius tended to lean toward Alias names of such origin. -'Seriatim' is a nickname. 'Sirius' is also, as it's his middle name. They both share a legal name last name, Serif, but don't use it. Seriatim is Legally named "Sayrus Ceri Serif" and Sirius was born under the same name, but following his reforming post-serial-killer, he changes his name legally to "Silverius Sirius Serif" and goes by "Silverius Sirius". -Sirius' name comes from a binary star system, the brightest star in the sky, both of which are white, part of the snot motif. Seriatim comes from the root word of 'serial', *seriatim*, which means point-to-point or one-after-another. Sirius, part of a constellation, has a name thematic to Seriatim based on the point-to-point meaning. -Sirius and Seriatim are both part of a character series, and re the only two known characters of that series to become Serial Killers, although they all were (or would become) Seduction-Specializing Spies.
