Oooo silky smooth! Don't these ants look like they have wispy, silky hairs? Apterostigma and silky ants from the genus, Sericomyrmex look almost fuzzy! . Both of these genera grow fungus gardens. Three days ago a new study was published and showed that a species of Sericomyrmex accomodates how it harvests nutrients when its colony is parasitized by another ant species, Megalomyrmex symmetochis.
