HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY FAVOURITE DISCOUNT SPIDERMAN- sorry i couldn't colour and shade you completely, but i still love you :,) I guess sero week day 7 since i missed like 3 days foabckqnd @sero-week
I had started on something yesterday, but then my app bugged out and I lost it. I managed to salvage it, but I got fed up at that point so I did this instead.
I really need to switch back to sai so I can do things more accurately lmao.
Happy Birthday to the giant tape dispenser! This is my contribution today.
Hey so this is the draft I’m posting here for Sero’s birthday, it’s unfortunately not really done yet but it feels finished...ish enough to post. I’ll post the fully finished version onto Ao3 soon. In the meantime I have a migraine that could kill a small child so I will die and reanimate tomorrow as I vaguely promised @importantcomputerstudent tomorrow.
Happy Birthday Sero baby you deserve the world
Sero stood out on his balcony, in perhaps what looked like the most uncomfortable position to be on a balcony. He was leaning with his fingers interlocked with each other while resting his chin on them.
Looking outside the UA dorms usually made him feel calm, relaxed, it was soothing, but tonight? Tonight he looked out at the world feeling—well weird. That’s right he felt weird. It was his last year at UA, last year at being a kid—well actually no, not really sure he had a little more time to be at school but… not anymore. And well, had he really been one since the League attacked his first year at the USJ? Eh, who knew? Did it really even matter? After all, he was still him, still had his friends, still had to keep his grades up to get into the agency he wanted, and still turning 18 tomorrow.
“You look lost in thought.” Sero turned his head to look at the balcony next to his, “Can’t sleep?”
Three years in the same room next to the same person who kicked his ass first year in the Sports Festival, and the same person who lost to Sero in their second year.
“Hey Roki.”
Todoroki chuckled at the nickname. It was all Kirishima’s fault, Sero got to keep his last name, but forever more Todoroki would be addressed as Roki—well Sero was really the only one who did but that was okay it was their thing. “You alright?”
“I—” Sero paused for a second, he was wasn’t he? “Yeah, more or less.”
Todoroki cocked an eyebrow, “More or less?”
“Relax,” Sero sighed, he didn’t want to worry anybody he was just in a weird mood, but trying to explain that was hard. He was Mom friend Sero and if anything was wrong with him, people tended to freak out, which was nice but also exhausting. At least Todoroki worried in a way that didn’t overwhelm the poor guy. “Nothing bad happened, I just feel weird about tomorrow.”
“Why?”
“Dunno, just feel weird about it,” Sero yawned. It was late, hell it must have been close to midnight. Sero should be asleep, especially since he was going to need all of his energy for whatever cute but insane little adventure Mina, Kaminari, Kirishima and Bakugou would all get up to for his Birthday celebrations.
“Can I come over?” Todoroki asked with a hint of concern in his voice.
“Huh? Oh yeah sure man, door’s unlocked.” Sero said as he straightened up.
“See you in a minute,” Todoroki said, smiling as he went back into his room and closed his balcony door, Sero did the same.
A couple of seconds later Todoroki knocked on Sero’s door which made him laugh, “You already know it’s okay to come in.”
“Yeah well,” Todoroki stepped inside Sero’s room closing the door behind him, “it’s late at night and, I don’t know… The idea of someone walking into my room in the dark creeps me out a bit.”
“... So, still afraid of ghosts, huh?” Sero smirked
Todoroki blushed, “That’s beside the point, anyway um, Happy Birthday Sero.”
“Huh?” Sero asked not realizing how close to midnight it had actually been.
“It’s midnight so technically it’s your birthday.” Todoroki shrugged stepping inside Sero’s bedroom, closing the door behind him.
“Oh wow, yeah, I’m 18...” Sero trailed off
They stood in silence for a second, “You are 18, feel any older?”
“Not really, just weird, like I dunno… k-kinda sad.” And that was it, that was the thing he had been feeling. Sero was sad because it was finally hitting him. It was their last year at UA and most likely he wouldn’t be able to see his friends every day. That maybe they’d grow apart, it had happened before.
Sero hadn’t really kept in touch with any of his middle school friends, and not for lack of trying either. His whole first year at UA had been a mess. The entire school had been constantly on edge, so it wasn’t like Sero would have been allowed to board a train on his own to go see them. Sero and his middle school friends messaged each other sometimes, and that was fun, but the people he had once considered his best friends were merely acquaintances now. “What if we all can’t hang out like we used to? Actually, that’s dumb of course we won’t be able to… We’ll be Pros, all in different agencies across the country and I don’t want to lose you guys.”
“You won’t lose us, you won’t lose me.” Todoroki tried to reassure Sero, if only he knew how much he’d meant to Todoroki.
“Todoroki, that’s easy to say now but—”
“No you misunderstand, I won’t let that happen. I never had any friends when I was younger, and now I have more than I know what to do with. I love Fuyumi, and Natsuo and I have gotten close, but you guys, you’re the ones…” Todoroki took a deep breath, “You guys are family to me. And, if you think for one second I’m going to lose touch with any of you then you’ve lost your mind.”
Todoroki smiled and gave Sero a hug.
“I thought you hated these?” Sero sniffled
“I don’t, not anymore, and you needed one.” Todoroki let the hug linger longer than he normally did, because Sero needed it.
“H-heh, thanks… Sorry that got a little dark.”
“It’s your birthday, aren’t you supposed to do whatever the hell you want?”
Sero snorted, “Yeah, I guess you’re not wrong I’d just prefer it to be a “Happy” Birthday. Ya know?”
Todoroki hummed before answering, “well I might have something for you to help with that.” Todoroki gave Sero a small bag with “Happy Birthday” written all over it. It was really pretty—clearly Fuyumi had picked it out.
“Aw Dude, you didn’t have to get me anything.”
“It’s what you’d do, besides I owe you from the last three years, where all I got you was a card.”
“Hey, I like your cards, they always have nice messages.”
“Fuyumi helped me write those.”
“I’m aware,” Sero laughed as he sat on his bed patting the side of it as an invitation for Todoroki to sit down as well, “but you put the effort in and that’s what counts, like tomorrow when we all go do some group activity—errrr I know it probably will end up being something I’ll love by the end of the day but I know disaster will strike because we’re us.” Sero grinned, “But it’s always nice and really fun, I guess yeah that’s why it’s hitting me so hard, you said it. You guys are like family.”
“Thanks,” Todoroki sat next to Sero, “I’m glad to know I’m a part of your family, you’re a part of mine…”
Sero smiled, “Thanks buddy, can I open this?”
“It’s your Birthday, and please.”
Sero took out a rectangular object that was in a clear plastic case and just stared.
“Holy Shit. Holy Shit! HOLY SHIT!!!”
“Shhh you’re gonna wake up the whole floor.”
“Todoroki. I-You-I-This is-I-holy shit! I mean—dude I can’t except this.”
Todoroki laughed at Sero’s shock and apprehension. “Why, don’t you like comic books?”
“Yeah, cut that out.” Sero rubbed the back of his neck and sounded like he was in a daze—well he kinda was “This is ‘Strange Tales Annual #2’ Todoroki—Shouto, I know how much this costs. Fuck, especially in this condition.”
“The perks of a being a rich kid.”
“Shouto, this costs something like ¥310926.00**.”
“A little less than that, the guy I got it from didn’t know what he had.”
“DUDE. You really expect me to buy that bullshit?”
Todoroki rolled his eyes, “Just take it, you always do so much for everyone. It’s our last year at UA, and I wanted you to have it.”
“But…”
“It’s too late anyway it’s yours, and besides… it’s kind of a bribe anyway.”
“Oh?” Sero chuckled, “The hell didja do that merits this—seriously? Holy shit, I still can’t believe you got this for me. Like… I’ve had to have friends pull me away from buying this. I contemplated selling a kidney for this, it’s—
“‘It's notable for being Johnny Storm and Peter Parker's first team up’” Todoroki smirked as imitated Sero, “—yeah I know,“I’ve heard you say it enough. I actually, kind of like them—I read the stuff you gave me and well, here’s the bribe part… You were going to that agency, Justice Enterprise? They actually have two spots open, would you hate it if I applied their too? But if it’s a big deal then don’t worry about it. I just wanted to check.” Todoroki cringed a little. He wouldn’t be surprised if Sero said ‘no,’ being the son of Endeavor was always more of a hindrance than anything else, but he didn’t to mess up Sero’s future because of it.
Sero grinned ear to ear, “Wait seriously?!”
“Um yes?”
“Yes! That would be awesome! Seriously? Dude I’d love working with you.”
All of the sadness washed away completely, it gave him hope, if he had one friend with him in his future then it had to mean that he’d have a better chance at keeping in touch with all of the others right?
“Hell maybe we could even debut together or something!”
Todoroki was thankful that it was dark enough so that Sero couldn’t quite see the blush burning his cheeks, “I’ll call them tomorrow then. Thanks Sero.”
“Are you kidding me? Thank you! I like—dude best birthday ever! Wanna stay over for the rest of the night? Watch some of my weird movies?”
“That sounds great. Happy Birthday Hanta.”
“Thanks again Shouto.”
Sero put on a movie which they both ended up falling asleep to until the next morning where Sero was showered in Birthday wishes and Bakugou’s chocolate-orange mousse cake.

It’s Sero’s birthday !!!!! As a reminder, your post won’t show up if our tag is not, within the first 5. Tumblr only recognizes the first 5 tags of a post! I’m really grateful you’re all mentioning the blog though, since that way I’ll see it! Reblogs are/will continue to be a little slow since I’m a working gal. I promise, I’ll get to see all of this good sero content that you’re all producing!
