HUNTSVILLE’S ANNUAL HANNUKAH CELEBRATION

Host of Event: Ruby Goldstein & Délicatesse D'or Type: Holiday Celebration  Author: Kass  Setting: The Community Center  In Character Date(s): Sunday 28 November - Monday 6 December

In Character Information: Each night, a little while after the sun goes down, Ruby will be lighting the town menorah, everyone is invited to join. There will be a drawing from a yarmulke each night that equates the number of candles, and each person drawn will be allowed to pick a candle. Ruby is always the Shamash. The winner will be able to pick one of the goodies from box that contains various things from coupons to toys to gift cards donated from various places. If Ruby wins, a surprise will follow. Each evening, there will be a dinner, games and more! Everyone is invited, no matter their faith.

OOC Information: The event will start the first night of Hanukkah, 28 November, times will be decided by members and posted in good time before the actual date! The majority of the event will take place on the dash and is entirely optional, meaning other replies don’t need to be put on hold. Each night we will use a bot to decide a winner, typically, it’s more for the kids, but adults can partake too, so those that wish to partake can decide whether or not they wish for their muses or their muses kid to be the on partaking. In character, the winner will be able to select from various prizes, along with a chocolate coin. Out of character prizes will also be offered likely in the form of myself ( Kassie ) making a graphic or offering something in that arena. 

Anyone that wishes for their character’s place of business to make a donation is more than welcome to let us know by Friday, the 26th of November and we will compile a list, because there are only eight nights though, please keep it to a minimum of one to two prizes per mun.

HUNTSVILLE CARNIVAL

It’s that time of the year again! Our graduating class of 2021 from Huntsville High is putting on the annual carnival that so many of our residents look forward to year after year. However, this year will work a little different than it has previously. Along side the carnival, there will also be a street fair where some of our local shop owners and businesses will be able to showcase any new products they have in store or just feel like sharing the things we’ve come to love. 

 As always, admission to the carnival will be by canned or non-perishable donations. Whatever has been collected by the end of the weekend will be delivered to the The Table Food Bank that helps to feed hundreds of families a year. Last year we as a community managed to donate almost double what the food bank was anticipating. Now I think we can blow that out of the water this year and triple it. 

The carnival will have all the rides and games we’ve come to love with all the proceeds, as well as from the silent auction, going toward the senior class gift. This year the graduating class has decided their class gift will go towards renovating the school’s theatre. Saturday and Sunday, you’ll be able to enjoy everything the carnival and street fair will have to offer from 10am up until 9pm. And on Monday, you’ll be able to embrace your inner child from 9am to 8pm. Monday will also kick off the start off the silent auction. You’ll have all day to place your bids on whatever prize your heart desires. 

Anyone who wishes to donate an auction item is asked to email Dominic Goldstein no later than May 19.

TLDR; the event in game will take place May long weekend (Saturday May 22 to Monday May 24). If you’d like your muse’s business take part in the street fair, please message the main by May 21st. If your muse would like to donate something to the silent auction, please message the main by May 21st. The event will run from May 22nd to June 5th with the “winners” of the silent auction being announced on the last day of the event. We will post a list of businesses, rides, silent auction items and more details about the event on Saturday May 22nd! We hope you’re excited! Please let us know if you have any other ideas.

BLIZZARD STRIKES HUNSTVILLE

The Greater Huntsville area and surrounding regions are shoveling out the weekend after more than 15 centimeters of new snow, and it only seems to be worsening.

It's paired with strong gusting winds of about 50 kilometers an hour. For this reason, everyone is advised to find shelter and stay indoors. Multiple shops have closed down, and the town of Huntsville is preparing for the worst.

OOC INFORMATION: This event will be dependent on how long members wish it to last, and has a focus on the weather impacting on the town. Whilst this is just the start of the storm, it’s certainly more damage becomes of it. 

The event will start Sunday 27 February, 2022 and last for about a week, though may extend depending on member’s interest. In character, the storm has already begun. This time, though, the event will take place on our discord server and we’ll be adding channels for specific locations, to allow for group threads! Along with making sure that each member has their own category. 

Those with muses that are writers are more than welcome to submit articles around this, and if people have businesses they’d like to suffer / report, please share this! This of course extends to injuries as well, though, if you wish to do something on the more severe end of things, please message the main! Not because we’ll say no, but because we don’t need 20 people dying. 

Like all events, this is entirely optional, if you for any reason do not wish to partake in it, that is more than okay! And feel free to carry on threads not connected to the event as well!

Hi lovely members, thank you so much for partaking in the survey we posted recently as it’s incredibly helpful for us admins and I hope you guys too! Here is a summary of the feedback we received, as well as what to expect in the next month! 

FIRST, the CARNIVAL EVENT will be extended a week, so as opposed to the original ending, it’ll now last until next weekend! That said, you are more than welcome to continue carnival threads after it ends. You just won’t be able to post new starters related to the carnival. 

SECOND, we have plans to release a verse shortly after the carnival, as most people were interested in that. We have a MYSTERY VERSE written up but I would personally love to have a couple members proof read, just to be on the safe side! 

THIRD, a lot of people were interested in a task as well, so we’ll be working towards releasing a task later in the month ! 

LASTLY, thank you so much for all your kind words, they truly warm us heart and help remind us why we created this group in the first place. We definitely hear you about the masterlist, though and are trying to figure out the best solution. It may take some time, but please know that we’re not ignoring this! We just have 176 wonderful muses !
