Dearest Alina,
I may never actually hand over this letter, but if life has taught me one thing it is that words can mend the soul. In my case, these words come written. So here goes; I was born exactly five minutes prior to you. When we were kids, I would always use this fact to my advantage. It was trivial, but somehow reminding you that I was the oldest would help me get my way. You knew it was total bullshit as much as I did, yet you let me get away with it every time. I used to ask myself why that was, but I know the answer now. You did it because you knew that miserable little me needed some sort of merit in his life. Most of all, you did it because you loved me. For that, and so much more, I thank you. Words could never truly describe how much I have appreciated your unconditional love. Through the hardest of times, you have been there for me. Hell, you have quite literally been there with me since the very beginning, for which I am immensely grateful. I hope to one day be as much of a rock for you as you have been for me. Moreover, they say that each of us has a purpose for our existence that is beyond our knowledge, but I know mine. I was born to be your twin, Alina, and I would not have it any other way.
