HE WAS RAMBLING AGAIN, something he tended to do when he got worked up about something or had idea after idea. but sometimes it was almost painful watching the way he seemed to get more and more emotional, he got himself more worked up about things and the more worked up he got, the less clearer his thought process was likely to become, “ jug, ” she tried to get him to stop, to focus on something else but there was no stopping him and she was never one to raise her voice when it wasn’t necessary. he was under a lot of stress, the black hood murders, the ghoulies moving in on serpent territory and trying to find his own place in the serpents beside from just being fp jones’ son. there was so much more than just FRIENDSHIP here now, they had seen each other around before he had transferred to southside high because she had been in her dad’s garage when he had brought his bike in a few times and when he had come to southside high, she was familiar face that he had approached to not feel so alone. from that moment, they had been close, friends whilst he dealt with the breakup with betty cooper because she wouldn’t even dare to allow herself to be the rebound. but by now, there was no DENYING what was here between them, they were there for each other no matter what and if he wasn’t going to make the move, she would have to. he was still talking, words almost tripping up over themselves as he continued to throw ideas around, pacing the room almost like a caged animal and she just needed him to RELAX and take a breath. moving towards him, hazel eyes looking up at him as she gets him to stop, hands gripping his jacket gently before moving to cup his face and she kisses him quickly. a firm press of her lips against his, eyes closed and she felt all the breath leave her body. a moment she had imagined for a while now, what it’d be like to kiss jughead and now she was finally doing it, it was BETTER than she ever imagined. she pulls back slowly, hands moving down to his chest again as eyes open slowly to look up at him, “ i just . . . needed you to stop talking for a little bit. you need to just . . . calm down and refocus yourself, ” but she was definitely not feeling very focused right now, her mind in a million places as she tries to wrap her head around the fact that she had just kissed jughead for the first time and what that now might mean for them.
