Talasnal! One of the best kept secrets of Portugal. Talasnal is the largest village of the Serra da Lousã Schist Villages. The name comes from the kind of rocks used in the construction of the houses in the village. These rocks have different shades and add a rusty touch to the village with natural green surroundings, dark houses, traditional olive trees. There is also a preserved castles that appear to emerge out of the mist, straight out of fairy tales that bear witness to what life was like many years ago. A day's trip from Coimbra in portugal is clearly a beautiful earthly village hidden amidst the mountains of 'Serra da Lousã'.
