It’s been a while since we’ve done one of these and I’m excited to highlight someone I’ve been a fan of for a while. Every one of their fics is utterly fascinating.
From Suzuki family character studies, to very creative alternate universes (psychic clones! alternate history 1950s!), these are stories you’ll still be thinking about months after you read them.
Seru is also co-organizing the Stories from Seasoning City fanfic zine. They will also be contributing a new fanfiction of their own to the zine. All proceeds will be donated to the Organisation for Transformative Works, the group that runs AO3!
We’re so proud of all that Seru has done for the fandom. Please continue to support them!
the supernatural victims’ society
Asagiri Minori & Claw Security Guard. Post Mogami-Arc. Completed. Rated: T. Word Count: 1908
“Memories are meant to fade. She is supposed to forget. She is supposed to be home, she thinks to herself, and not sitting in the centre of Seasoning, watching the world with a stranger by her side, making ghostly shapes out in the crowds.”
A Revolution in Technicolor
Kageyama ‘Mob’ Shigeo & Reigen Arataka, Kageyama Ritsu & Tsuchiya, Koyama Megumu & Sakurai Yuusuke. 1950s AU, Alternate History. Ongoing. Rated: M. Word Count: 116889
Trigger Warnings: Graphic Depictions of Violence, Minor Character Death, Referenced Terrorism, Swearing
“AU. In an alternate 1950, a shocking leak leads to national scandal. Knowledge of espers—those with powers beyond explanation—has become public. The question of ‘integration or persecution’ hangs heavy over a government in troubled waters.
In the madness, stories entwine: of brothers separated and lost, of a gang boy in denial of his true, terrifying identity, of a child reduced to a bargaining chip in a decades-old game, of a former soldier with memories soaked in light, rain and blood… and of one unfortunate journalist caught in the crossfire.”
One of the longest stories in the fandom!
so foul and fair
Suzuki Shou & Suzuki Touichirou. Psychic Clones, Character Study, Second Person POV, Literary Allusions, Introspective. Comlpleted. Rated: M. Word Count: 13153
Trigger Warnings: Graphic Depictions of Violence, Stillbirth, Background Character Death, Suicidal Ideation, Biblical References, Medical Experimentation
“(You are not scared. You have nothing to fear. You will be feared, instead, when you stand on top of the world. You are not scared of anything: least of all, a child, no matter how much he resembles you.)
AU: in which Suzuki Shou was not created in the way humans typically are, in which a burst of psychic energy becomes the impossible, and in which Suzuki Touichirou is left to make sense of the aftermath, and what came before.”
Shou as Touichirou’s actual clone is one of the greatest theories I’ve ever heard.
house ghost
Kageyama ‘Mob’ Shigeo & Reigen Arataka. Harry Potter AU. Completed. Rated: T. Word Count: 4490
“Harry Potter AU; in which Kageyama Shigeo survived an attack by a powerful wizard three years ago, in which a Muggle died saving him, and in which Mogami Keiji ended himself trying to kill an inconspicuous eleven-year-old—whose name nobody really remembers.
(…or in which, in his third year at Hogwarts, Kageyama Shigeo encounters a ghost.)”
sheltering
Reigen Arataka/Serizawa Katsuya. Fluff, Romance. Completed. Rated: M. Word Count: 741.
Trigger Warnings: Sensuality, Metaphorical Smut
“If the walls break down, then yes, they will die. If they fall to the water and drown, then wash up in the flood, lungs ballasted by crystallised salt and the heaviness of confessions and loving words—then no, he doesn’t mind, feeling tender lips and stubble-rough skin and the thousand meanings that come with each touch.”
the logic of new beginnings
Suzuki Shou & Suzuki Shou’s Mother. Post-Canon, Manga Spoilers. Completed. Rated: G. Word Count: 1423

Shou gets a haircut.”

six months of hell and thirteen years later by Seruspica UPDATED!
The third and final chapter can be read HERE!
“”Why are you staring? You’re weird.”
“You’re my clone,” Shou blurted out. “I can’t help it. It’s weird.”
“You think it’s weird?” The boy laughed a little, as if to mock him. “I thought you’d actually look good. Guess I’ll have to get plastic surgery when I’m older.””
(sending this one in for next headcanon saturday) if tome had esper powers, her aura would strike me as the kind to look almost galaxy like. It be this very vibrant blue highlighted by indigo strips and have swirling specks of gold as if to present traveling stars and planets
Ooh, very nice! That definitely suits her!
I’ve recently been developing my own headcanons about auras. Auras are not just visual, but can be detected with other senses. Each aura is different and many espers have difficulty using senses other than sight.
Tome’s aura is visually quite vibrant and eye catching, but it’s sound is rather subtle. Only particularly good listeners such as Takenaka would be able to hear it.
This is what I imagine it sounds like (listen from 1:30 to 1:40).
If you’d like to read more about auras, Seruspica has some nice meta in A Revolution in Technicolor.
