When I left the Air Force in 1999, I knew that I wanted to live my live my life telling stories: I am/was a writer. But what I didn’t know was that I was going to have to write a story about the price women (and men) pay to serve their country. I’m so humbled to have won the Louis Mitchell Award for Excellence in Writing and to have placed as Runner Up in the Alternative/Social Feature category for the screenplay, The War at Home, at the #AOF2018 film festival. We’re looking for a few good women veterans! 5-10 to be exact! We are relaunching my TV drama series, The War at Home. To assist in the relaunch, we will be interviewing women veterans about their experiences serving our country and the need for a TV show about our stories Saturday, June 16th, between 12p-2p at 3200 E. We are on the go now! Started filming interviews this weekend with women veterans beginning with, well, me. I hate being in front of the camera, but I’ll do what I have to do to tell our story.
