When I left the Air Force in 1999, I knew that I wanted to live my live my life telling stories: I am/was a writer. But what I didn’t know was that I was going to have to write a story about the price women (and men) pay to serve their country. I’m so humbled to have won the Louis Mitchell Award for Excellence in Writing and to have placed as Runner Up in the Alternative/Social Feature category for the screenplay, The War at Home, at the #AOF2018 film festival. Check out these photos from the awards ceremony. I look shell-shocked. 😁 I was! But I got to tell this audience about #womeninthemilitary and I’m grateful. Sharing news on our next big step to network TV shortly. #TWAH #TheWarAtHome #servedlikeagirl #screenwriter #veteran https://www.instagram.com/p/Bnbo1pXh2qZ/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=oe794pa6blqj
