Although the main storyline for Studio Time has concluded, we both felt we needed some epilogues to close a few doors and open a few windows. This gives us an opportunity to move in a different direction creatively with characters who until now, were not in the spotlight. In the next couple of weeks, look for some fresh stories from both of us, written in collaboration and individually. Yes, you read that right, we said fresh stories!

More on that later. Here is Epilogue 1 of 4 – Autumn

The Mitchell and Westover Wedding

Jason Mitchell and Kestral Westover

Various relatives are in attendance including sister and brothers. Also Camilla, her current man Heydon who is father of the groom, and current man’s ex-wife the mother of the groom.  

Bride is beautiful, groom handsome.  The ex-wife sits on the other side of the aisle from Camilla who eyes her.  Camilla says something so awful that both current man and people seated 2 rows back and across the aisle are scandalized.  

People eat.  The ex-wife dances in the corner and shakes her butt. Some of the guests start making out.

Everybody goes home and the bride and groom have one final dance among the plates on the floor.

Epilogue 3 of 4, a hard one to write for several reasons. It’s personal. It’s about a long-standing friendship that took a devastating hit that might be impossible to recover from. This one really broke my heart.

Our final epilogue for Studio Time features Duff and Rayne. This piece sprouted from an idea I had that has been floating around my brain for a long time. I could never find the right way to present it. As an epilogue, an abbreviated version of what I wanted to write came together.

This epilogue has a slightly adult theme but nothing that should offend or upset anyone (I hope). Again, this is short.

Thank you to everyone who has followed our stories over the years. Closing the doors on Studio Time was difficult but we are excited about the next phase. More on that on another day.

Heartfelt thanks to @skyburned for everything. What a journey this has been! I can’t wait for the next phase.

Studio Time - Chapter 49

I posted the first chapter of Dark December, Cooper’s story, on June 12, 2007. His story was a way for me to deal with a December darkness of my own. The story grew and multiplied and ended up merging into something more. This chapter is the culmination of all that. The post where Jimmy died was dated close to 4 years ago. Yes, it took this long to bury the poor lad.

It has been an honor to share this story with those who followed since the beginning as well as with those who are newer readers. You have my heartfelt thanks for the support and encouragement. Readers are what keep a person writing. While the method for telling sims stories has changed since 2007, our appreciation for those readers who stuck with us has never waned - so thank you.

Special love to @skyburned who shared in this collaboration and who pulled me from the deep darkness more times than I can count. Thank you for keeping me going, for your patience, and for the tough love.

Today has been a hard day. May tomorrow shine light once more.

Medusa

A cafe/bar in downtown South Beach Crossing dedicated to Medusa. Obviously.

There’s a little story about this place.  It’s owned by Camilla’s young cousin Kestral who is a chef.  When she announced her purchase of the place and her decorating plans (Kes is a bit different), her friends and relatives began to contribute Medusa related items (or candles or tables or something).

Camilla really does not like Cooper Stanfield’s wife.  Before they were married, the wife dated Camilla’s brother.  There was some drama with the break up, the brother was briefly unhappy (very briefly) and Cammie never forgave her. (Of course.)

When Camilla considered her gift for the place, she decided to have an artist paint a portrait of the wife, from photos and such since she could hardly ask her to do a sitting.  She is portrayed as another incarnation of Medusa, the woman’s long curls replaced with twisting snakes, although Camilla was kind enough to give her some lipstick.  

Nobody said a thing.  Kestral hung the painting over a fireplace where she hoped it might be seen as a gesture of respect.
