Old Dice Staging Methods: Batch #9
Drabble #432
X: ball
Arthur threw Snoopadoop's ball to the end of the garden, then turned back to the screen. "Sorry, Martin. What's that?"
"I said, I bet Snoop's enjoying having you both at home so much."
"Yeah! At first she was a bit confused, though. She kept on bringing me my hat."
"I'm surprised she can lift it."
There came a chuckle from Douglas's panel of the video call. "And that’s coming from the strongest neck in the industry!”
At that moment, Snoopadoop came bounding back without the ball. "Where is it?" Arthur asked.
"What, Martin's old captain's hat? A museum, I presume."
Dice Set #43: Red, Blue, Green Mixed Cosmic Set
Bonus Picture:
One of my favourite shirts has pretty much the same colour palette as this set. Not so much pattern-wise, but if I could get ahold of plaid/tartan dice of any sort I absolutely would.
Drabble #427
V: time travel
“It’s no joke, this life,” Carolyn said warningly, as Arthur dragged Martin’s bag towards his new quarters. “The things we do... sometimes, they have to stay done.”
“I know,” said Martin, “But I’m ready. I’ve wanted to pilot the timeflyer since the first time I met you. Seventeen years ago.”
“Only two, for us.”
“You see! You can’t ask me not to find that amazing.”
She sighed. “I don’t. I just want you to be prepared. With Douglas...”
“We’ll find him,” Martin interrupted. “We know he’s out there.”
She turned away. “Catch up with Arthur. He’ll unpack for you, otherwise.”

IX: expedition
Arthur! sent a photo
Arthur!: Look who I saw on my walk!
Herc: I’m trying, at least...
Arthur!: Yes, it’s a bit blurry, sorry. I was waving while I was taking it, and we didn’t go any closer than this. It’s Karl from ATC.
FO Crieff: Ah, now that you say that, I can see it’s him. Good old Karl.
DR: Is my screen broken? Did Martin just say ‘good old Karl’?
FO Crieff: What? I didn’t not like him. Besides, absence makes the heart grow fonder, and all that. I even miss you, Douglas. Sometimes.

Drabble #428
VI: revolution
Carolyn: Here’s one... Le Miserable.
Arthur!: Aw, what’s up, Mum? I thought I hadn’t heard you thump for a while.
Carolyn: What?
Carolyn: Oh. No, you prawn, it’s an Isolation Film.
Arthur!: Aaaaah!
FO Crieff: Sorry, can we backtrack - you haven’t heard her ‘thump’..?
Arthur!: On the wall. It’s how we communicate.
FO Crieff: Right. Of course.
Arthur!: What’s it about, anyway? That Miserable film?
Wendy: I remember there being lots of singing. Isn’t it set during the French Revolution? xx
Herc: Technically it’s the June Rebellion, a little bit later on. But yes - French.
Carolyn: Hence all the misery.
