__________________________________________________________________ So the set bonuses were revealed rather recently and I wanted to take some time to go through them all. Looking at those 2 pieces. Mana reduction all around. Blizzard's way of giving healers a little boost to mana management is always nice.
Rejuvenation, Surging Mists, Greater Healing Wave, Holy Radiance, Flash Heal, all received a 10% mana cost reduction.
Druids and Monks seem to be on par here with their hots. Druids are already used to "blanketing the raid" so to speak and this will be very nice for that, as well as keeping those hots on the tanks.
Paladins are going to get some aoe help once again. Expect to see Paladins hitting the raid because their manacost of HR will be lowered! Now if only they could balance holy radiance and Light of dawn >.<
Shamans and GHW are leading me to the direction of tank healing once again. Spread out fights are great for shaman tank healers, for those stacked up fights we might just want to put priests back on tanks though.
Priests have flash heal which I'm a little bit concerned about. Flash heal is our emergency single target heal so its something I don't see us using a lot. It will definately help in those dire situations but I'm just not sure yet.
4pc:
Druid's swiftmend cd reduced by 3 seconds. Not bad, more swiftmends mean more single target heals and more effloressence.
Paladins have holy shock cd reduced by 1 sec. This will be pretty nice for holy paladins since the design intent is to use it more-or-less on cd regardless of aoe vs. single target heals.
Monk's concerns me a bit. Chi wave is a talent, so 4 pc is pretty much telling you to take it. Unless they make a change here somewhere this isn't going to make monk healers happy.
Shaman's tidal waves make GHW a faster cast. so the 2pc and 4pc work really well together. According to a resto shaman in our guild, riptide is higher priority than GHW, and you can get 2 GHW off with tidal waves before riptide is off CD, so the 3rd tidal wave will be wasted. However I don't know if we can say the resto shaman priority will remain the same here especially with the new glyph of riptide. It will be interesting to see.
Priests 4pc is pretty nice too. Taking 4 seconds off of Penance and CoH is a large amount of time for what their cooldowns are. Penance is very mana efficient for single target heals, so I'm very excisted for that. I'm not sure where CoH is with mana atm (glyph vs. no glyph aside) but as long as CoH is something you want to hit on cd for aoe it will be nice especially on fights with consistent heavy aoe.
Overall these set bonuses seem pretty solid. Monk 4pc and shaman 4pc are still to be seen the true qualities of, but I am excited for our set bonuses. (=
