L. Klein somehow took the first set 6-3 from the way he constructed this point. Stayed at the baseline, L. Klein drove the rally all the way, until a working forehand enabled him to take the first set.

From the upcoming match on that court, I am going to dump the moments into several parts. I happened to be able to tweet these first before being able to put them here.
The next match was between Lorenzo Giustino and Edan Leshem. Another local. However, considering Giustino was out of form these past few months, this match could be doable for Leshem, considering indoor hard at home and his Davis Cup revelation 2 weeks ago.
I will start the momentum dump by sharing the moment when Leshem broke again to take the first set 6-3 vs. Giustino. I could recall Leshem handled the clutch moments really well and strengthened his solidity by being able to break and hold from the way he handled the rally: some notable shots were the successful lob to hold, and clutch service games to save one of the break points.
However, the second set was rather topsy-turvy compared to the first set, which will be explained in several documentations in several different posts.

And this was also where the momentum shifted! Krejcikova/Siniakova managed to take the second set at 7-5 after that winner from Siniakova! A baseline winner, so close that she thought it was out, but nope.
The third set is ongoing as I speak, but there were some interesting points that confirmed this turnaround, I am going to get them here one by one (yes because this semi-live-blog is a one-girl production)!

Not a failed moonball or lob (or whatever it was) to end the set- and that might have shown me that McNally/Townsend might have gone after Krejcikova/Siniakova's shots (watch out for the lobs' execution, for example!).
McNally/Townsend then took the first set 6-3, and subsequently managed to hold it 1-0 at the beginning of the second set. I agreed with the commentators on the flow of the first set regarding the returns and how McNally/Townsend were more aggressive on returns, causing pressure and thus limiting Krejcikova/Siniakova's shot choices.
But we will see how this flows at the second set, tight games already!

Before I get to the match recap of the previous Challenger match I watched, I would like to dump a moment from the US Open's Women's Doubles department.
I thought I was dreaming or my live scores app was a joke when Miyu Kato/Aldila Sutjiadi managed to take the first set 7-5 vs. Desirae Krawczyk/Demi Schuurs (the seventh seed!). I might have missed a ton of action here, but reckoned nailing crucial points was a key of Kato/Dila coming back from around a 1-4 trailing.
Although Des/Demi breadsticked Kato/Dila at the end of the second set, the third set is still ongoing as I speak. I thought it was going to be completely tough on paper, which was shown there; but this turned out to be a neat match to follow!

I managed to document one hot shot, out of many, coming from the second set. And since I just realized this is a BO3, I'll just get to them and hope I could stay awake by the end of the match because of time difference.

Saving this here just because. Serena just won his singles set against Harmony Tan! And even, a breadstick!
