Bayside the Musical, at Theatre 80 on St. Mark's, was so camp it was hilarious. The best part, by far, was Tori, played by Seth Blum.
If you can sit through the sleepover song without cringing and laughing, you're a champ.

A Photo Shoot with Our Heroes
As the first public screening for the film is rapidly approaching, it is time to start developing promotional materials: postcards, posters, website... I am not sure how, with all the post-production work that remains to be done on the film itself I will have time to do it, but it has to get done!
So yesterday Andy Horwitz, Seth Blum, Christopher Brodeur and I got together at my friend Andy's place (not the same Andy as Andy Horwitz) to shoot some pictures that I can use to create a movie poster. Andy owns a Canon 40D and has been taking photography classes. It's really developed into a serious hobby for him and he's taken some amazing photographs in his trips around the world.
Incidentally, he's also the one that sold me the camera I used to make the film. Where would I be without Andy and all the latest technological gadgets he owns?
So here are some pictures from the photo shoot, which was a reunion of sorts for our heroes and I:
When I studied special effects at NYU, I learned the value of using blue screens, especially when you need to extract images of people's heads from a background. Here I am setting up a makeshift-blue screen using a fleece baby blanket from home.
Teaching Christopher how to pose.
Christopher showed up with a broken foot that day--see above.
Trying some poses.
Andy rocks!
Andy REALLY rocks!
After 400 photos, we settled on this one to be used for the final poster.
And this one is the one that I will one day put in a frame right above the chimney in my home. That is, if I ever do own a home.
