Quick Maths from #SethG, Kevin Kelly, @WULFUniversity, & @MyUberLife Consulting on how to build and grow a business around your ideas. 1. To be a successful creator you don’t need millions. You don’t need millions of dollars or millions of customers, millions of clients or millions of fans. To make a living as a craftsperson, photographer, musician, designer, author, animator, app maker, entrepreneur, or inventor you need only 1k of true fans. 2. A true fan is defined as a fan that will buy anything you produce. These diehard fans will drive 200 miles to see you sing; they will buy the hardback and paperback and audible versions of your book; they will purchase your next figurine sight unseen; they will pay for the “best-of” DVD version of your free youtube channel; they will come to your chef’s table once a month. If you have roughly 1k of true fans like this (also known as super fans), you can make a living. 3. The ability to find and organize 1k people is a breakthrough opportunity. 1k people coordinating their actions is enough to change your world (and make a living.) 4. 1k people each spending $1,000 on a special interest cruise equals a million dollars. 5. 1k people willing to spend $250 to attend a day-long seminar gives you the leverage to invite just about anyone you can imagine to fly in and speak. 6. 1k people voting as a bloc can change local politics forever. 7. 1k people willing to try a new restaurant you find for them gives you the ability to make an entrepreneur successful and change the landscape of your town. 8. Even better, coordinating the learning and connections of this tribe of 1k is not just profitable, it's rewarding. If you can take them where they want to go, you become indispensable and respected. 9. What's difficult is changing your attitude and unlearning the old rules of business. Where instead of yelling at strangers or trying to trick people or use gimmmicks, you focus on coordinating a tribe of 1k. This requires patience, consistency and a focus on long-term relationships and life time value. 10. You don't find customers for your products. You find products for your customers. #MULFMAB (at MYUBERLIFE)
