── THE PALE TRESSES THAT MIRROR her own are unmistakable. if it weren’t for the shock grounding weiss to her spot, she’d have hurtled herself towards the figure in a heartbeat. after all, weiss hadn’t been sure when ( or if, in this environment ) she’d ever see winter again. but there her sister stands, carrying with the same prowess and elegance that weiss had always admired her for.
she’s absolutely thrilled to see winter. even here, where weiss is blind to the working’s of the world and the circumstances surrounding her ( and everyone else’s, for that matter ) arrival, she can’t help but feel overjoyed to see winter, her beloved sister.
and yet...
how long had it been? weiss tries to recount ─ back before beacon’s fall? the thought twists her heart. has it really been that long? a wave of anxiety encompasses her mind. she wonders what story winter had been fed. that her little sister had rebelled, lashed out, and ran away? that she’d tainted the family name? that she was nothing more than a disappointment? or had she been told anything at all?
insecurities plague her thoughts, preventing weiss from acting straight away. but time forces her mind back to reality, as winter begins to walk ─ in the direction away from weiss. she snaps out of her trance and rushes forward.
❝ w-wait! winter! ❞ weiss calls to her sister, embarrassed by the informality in her own voice. she skids to a stop ─ it takes all of her self-control to resist throwing herself into winter’s arms. but she hesitates ─ unsure of how winter will react, or how her sister even feels after everything had happened.
❝ winter, i... ❞ i’ve missed you, please don’t be mad. ❝ oh, it’s so good to see you again. i didn’t expect to see you here, of all places... i was worried. ❞ she struggles to compose herself, ❝ is.. everything okay? it’s been so long... ❞
