I know I ask for advice on here quite often, but I was wondering if any of you knew where I could get good setting lotion (for fine hair, so a lightweight formula) that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I want to try pin curling my hair, and heard setting lotion would be great for that. If you loves could put me on the right path, that would be wonderful! Cheers!
so im finally doing something to my hair and i have no clue where my camera is so i will just have to tell you about it!!!
i am flat twisting my hair and rolling the ends with perm rods. my hair was in a 2 day old wash n go. i think im supposed to be taking pictures for a program so i figured why not right? the next time i take a picture it will be for graduation. idk what im going to do about that.
so i just started off parting my hair in 3 rows 2 going back and 1 forward of course. took medium/ smallish sections sprayed them with water, comb it with a wide tooth comb then again with a small comb. added 1 to 2 pumps of lotta body setting foam. started flat twisting then stopped leaving a little bit of the hair unbraided. detangled a little more. then rolled them up.
now that that is over with, i am sitting under the dryer. gonna finish up some homework. gonna sit here until i get sleepy or y hair dries. which evert happens first.
im gonna come back in the morning and take pictures. hopefully it looks like something. i dont have major expectations for this. . . i just want to try something a little different. took a little longer than i thought but i think i figured it out. because i do have a dryer to sit under, i found that completely saturating the hair was very helpful with the detangling process and making sure that the product was evenly distributed. yeah that may increase my dry time but i always wake up and sit under the dryer for another 30 just incase its didnt completely dry.
so yeah. i think that was pretty clear. ill be back to show the results as promised.
so . . . until next time!
Calling all Vintage Gals!
Okay, I need your help! I'm considering experimenting with setting lotions, because although my hair is naturally curly and holds pin curls wonderfully, they need constant brushing back into place no matter how much hairspray I put in. They love to twist around themselves leaving me with funky hair by the end of the day. Would setting lotion help? Do I need better hairspray, if so what do you suggest? Please help, I hate having what looks like slept on vintage hair by the end of the school day. Thanks, xoxo. ?
