On n’imagine pas à quel point la rénovation d’un immeuble peut changer la vie. Mireille Ponnelle, depuis le balcon de son appartement et Romain Barralon, conducteur de travaux, peuvent en témoigner, chacun à sa façon. À Seurre, cette rénovation placée sous la vigilance d’Orvitis sera inaugurée à la rentrée, signe aussi que le BTP avance bien masqué.

The railing is oiled, the anchor chain and winch is in place and the rudder indicator is “fixed”. The water and fuel tanks are full. The dinghy is once again on davits. We are on the... river again. 

Despite an uncomfortable morning where wind over current meant an outbreak of whitecaps on the Saone, the weather calmed down and we set off once again. It is around 30km and a single lock to Seurre. With the aid of the current, it took only a couple of hours. Rivers are good fun, though a stern sign outside the lock directed us to put lifejackets on. Fearing a stubborn lock keeper, we complied, Dad reluctantly. 

Seurre is, of course, very pretty, and the weather even cleared up enough for the sun to make an appearance. Tomorrow, onwards ever onwards.

It’s a great joy to work together with likeminded people who share the same passion for their craft.
