honestly this drabble has everything, I’m really happy with it:
flirty Seven, cute and warm Seven, mild smut, feels and sadness, fluff, did I mention Seven?
I hear Seven growling at his computer as I open the door to his shitty (but homey) one room apartment. His fingers beat against the keyboard at lightning speed. He doesn’t hear me come in. “Seven, babe, chill, What’s wrong?” He swivels his head, mildly startled, but smiles as I kneel next to his chair and lean against him.
“Just work. You know how it is.”
“I still don’t get how they’re allowing you to do work in your apartment; isn’t that insecure?”
“Nah, the stuff I’m doing now isn’t confidential.”
I perk up. “So can you tell me about it?”
Seven laughs a little, still typing and focused on the screen. “Nope, still somewhat secretive, but since my computer is pretty well protected and this stuff isn’t as important they’re not so worried.”
“Hm,” I mutter, pulling out a bag of chips and two sodas from my bag. Seven suddenly stops typing and I can feel his eyes on me.
I look up to see heart eyes staring at the chips in my hand. “Honey butter chips? And Dr. Pepper?? For me???” I bring them up to give the bag to him. “Babe, you’re the best.” ...and quickly snatch the bag away.
“Not before you finish the sandwiches I made you!” I scold, handing him a ham sandwich and holding the chips out of his reach. Seven makes an offended face and jumps out of his chair, grabbing at the chips.
“Nuh uh, mister! Finish the sandwich and you can have your precious chips!” I say.
“You’re so meeeaaan!” he screeches, pinning me to the ground and reaching for the chips I hold above my head.
“No!” I screech, laughing, and roll us over on the floor so I’m in top of him, and hold the chips high in the air. “These chips aren’t for you, not yet!”
“Give ‘em!” Seven says, rolling me back over onto my back and holding my hands down above my head. He pauses to look at me with his red hair messier than usual. My face is flushed and my breath is warm. “Oh?” He says, smirking down at me. His glasses glint mischievously and he lowers the register of his voice. “What a compromising position you’ve found yourself in.”
I try to hold back my blush, hopelessly failing. “You’re one to talk,” I say, wrapping my leg around his and making him collapse on me. His hold on my arms releases and I quickly grab his shirt before he can grab the chips and get up.
“You’re a dangerous woman,” he growls, lips barely an inch from mine. I pull his head down to close the distance before he can say anything clever. He slowly moves his hands down to my waist, leaning into the kiss. I slide one of my hands under Seven’s sweater, entangling my other fingers in his hair to pull his lips closer as his tongue runs against the roof of my mouth. I moan against his lips.
One of Seven’s hands leaves my waist, earning him a whine of disappointment from me. I hear a crinkling beside my head and my eyes snap open. Seven’s eyes are open, staring at something to the left of my head. “Hey!” I say, pulling away from him and grabbing his arm before it can throw the chips onto his desk. “Bastard,” I mutter. He chuckles.
“Trade you the chips for a great time tonight?” Seven attempts a generous smile. I grumble.
“Well, if you’d only eat the sandwich then you could have the chips...”
“But if you give them to me now I’ll be sure to leave time for you tonight, to finish some...business.” He gives me his mischievous stare, slowly lowering his lips onto mine.
I hesitate. “Dammit...fine,” I mutter.
“Good girl,” he whispers before giving me an aggressive kiss. Right before he gets up to get back to work, he stares at me from our compromising position. “And, thanks babe.” We share one last gentle kiss before he gets back to his computer.
I sigh, standing up. “Anytime.” I take the bag with my sandwich and soda in it and begin walking out the door with sad eyes.
“Wait, you don’t have to go,” Seven says, swivelling in his chair and grabbing my wrist. He pleads silently with his eyes, and I wonder for a second if he ever notices his pleading glances at times like these.
“No, it’s okay, I know you have a lot of work. It was silly of me to come by unannounced...” I trail off.
Seven stands and takes my hands in his, not saying anything. He looks a little sad, weary almost. He rests his forehead against mine and looks deep into my eyes. “I’m sorry. Really, I am. I hate doing this.” He sighs, closing his eyes. I pull him into a hug, unsure if I’m doing it to be in his arms or if it’s to hide the tears that I know will come later on when I’m alone. It’s been awhile since I’ve been able to catch Seven’s undivided attention for more than an hour or so.
“You wanted to have lunch together, didn’t you?” Seven whispers against my ear. I nod into his hoodie, afraid to say anything or my voice might crack. It’s ridiculous I have to bring over food to just in attempts to have lunch with my boyfriend, but I know Seven’s trying. I guess he sees how much I‘m trying, too.
We stand there for a while, wrapped in each other’s warmth. I nuzzle my cheek against his collarbone, trying to keep myself together.
“Stay,” Seven says. “I can take a bit of a break. And...I miss you.”
“Okay,” I mutter into his chest. He pulls me out of the hug, still holding my shoulders, and smiles at me sweetly. He leans down to kiss me before we get the sandwiches out and splay out on the floor, legs entangled. We talk and laugh about random things, like long cat, how Seven had to prepare to beat the temperamental Tetris champion who was coming to the party, and predicting Yoosung’s unsaid major. It’s a nice break from our struggles.
When I come back later for promised...business contracts, Seven is so tired, he’s passed out over his keyboard. I move a groggy Seven to his bed and lay next to him. I smile into his chest as his arms wrap around me and we fall asleep within minutes. I dream of waking up to a sleepy, older Seven in a bigger house, but the same size bed, our lives meant to fit snugly into each others. If only.
