From the Rooftops I proclaim... I AM YOURS!
First things first, here is the link to this amazing song: Rooftops - Jesus Culture (click me!) - Go listen to it...now!
In this post I intend to describe, in a few words, the reason why I'm absolutely in love with this song and why can relate to it so much.
A month (or so) ago, when I was told about the youth fellowship, my initial reaction was, 'Naaah boring. Waste of time.'
I didn't think twice about it. I wasn't going.
Then, a few days later I meet this same person who had told me about this YF, and once again he encouraged me to go.
I knew that deep down I wanted to feel the presence of God once again in my life, however I didn't know how. Yes, I attend the Sunday mass and yes, I pray but something was missing. I could see how peaceful this person was when he talked about this whole YF experience, therefore I decided to give it a try and see how it works out.
It was Tuesday the 28th October when I attended for the first time. I was surprised at the amount of youths that were there. I barely knew anyone but everyone was so friendly and nice. The talk was very intriguing and the songs were catchy.
But, there was this song - Rooftops. At that moment, I could've sworn the lyrics were written for me. Listening to the band playing the song gave me the chills. I could relate to it so much - it was almost as if I was put on the spotlight and the song was being dedicated to me.
It was God's grace that had brought me there on that particular day. Week after week I searched for His Truth, His love, His kindness, His forgiveness. As I said in my last blog post, the Seven weekend was my pivotal point. I felt God's presence in my heart. I still can't put into words how life-changing that moment was. Because of that I'm no longer afraid to 'shout out His name' and to 'share His love across the earth' because I experienced His Love and I want everyone to feel that Love - The One True love!
'What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs.' Luke 12:3
