One thing about Eliot Spencer is that he will be joining a union or, in the absence of one, founding it. Which is a very endearing trait.

so funny how janniksin is incredibly photogenic unless ☝️ he's actively being photographed, in which case he looks like he's trying to smile for the first time in his life
"I know it's not the same thing, but Hardison and I are gonna be here for you forever. We'll always be together." "Till our dying day." "No, past that." ??? why did they just randomly put ot3 wedding vows into the oil rig episode
Watching the Served episode with Darren Cahill and I'm feeling so emotional. "He's a good young man; I wanna call him a kid 'cause in a lot of ways, he's still a young kid, and he does teenage things, and he has a normal life away from the tennis court." The way he talks about Jannik is so, so affectionate.
Sophie/Nate is such a good dynamic if you keep in mind that number one they're divorced number two they're married number three they're divorced number four they're married number
Finished Wind & Truth. I am shaking. I am sobbing. I am kicking my feet gleefully. I am pounding on Brandon Sanderson's door. What a book. What a fucking book.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN SOPHIE HAS A STEPDAUGHTER WHO WORKS FOR INTERPOL AND SHE'S KEPT TABS ON HER FOR TWENTY YEARS AND NUDGES GOOD CASES HER WAY 😭 IN LIEU OF RECONNECTING WITH HER
Project Hail Mary is a great book, and I'm glad that I read it because the movie was so popular, and the movie was also really good even if I didn't like some major aspects of it, but my god does it inspire some annoying tendencies in people. I'm sorry, I realise that this is such an elitist point of view, especially considering the shifted focus in the movie, but I get genuinely pissed off every time someone goes, "Wow, Grace is so unbelievably smart... Rocky is a genius... How did anybody write this story", like no, Grace is a middle school teacher.
He figures out what's happening with pretty simple experiments! He's smart, he's savvy, but he's not a genius, he's a teacher with a grasp of high school physics! Rocky is a very good engineer, but he's not a scientist!
And honestly? That's what makes the story work, at least for me! These are not geniuses, they're two desperate people who have to find a way to work together, and who have literally nothing else to do until they find a way to communicate.
From a meta standpoint, obviously Andy Weir/the creators of the movie all did a very good job, but like. They don't actually have to build a functional near-light speed spaceship. It's a cool story, but the scientific basis of the book ends with, like, the concept of evolution and basic predator–prey relationships.
