top five duels in the ygo franchise :)

Oh wow, that’s kind of hard... ^^; Also, keep in mind that top 5 in The franchise for me is mostly DM and Zexal because that’s what I’ve mostly watched.

1) The Kaiba vs. Y. Yugi duel on Pegasus’s castle. - big dramatic duel, Kaiba threatening to throw himself off the castle was a wake up call to a lot of fans that this silly card game show wasn’t messing around.

2) The DDM game between Yugi & Otogi in the manga- Yugi’s my favorite character and this was one of his biggest moments in the series I felt. Also liked all the drama at the end with the fire.

3) Kaiba vs. Yugi vs. Cube Monster! Aigami in DSOD- I love everything about DSOD, it was also great seeing Atem show up.

4) Vector’s big reveal- don’t think I really need to explain this. Vector’s awful and we love him for it.

5) Yuma/Astral vs. Nasch- I rewatched the dub for these episodes around this time last year and I was struck by how Yuma didn’t want to hurt Shark, and wanted to keep dueling until he found another solution. It displays a lot of things I like about Yuma as a character.

ok so i went to a large state school but had minimal social life and didn't start drinking until i was 25 so i have never actually been to a college party? or drunk beer? or played a drinking game? and yet quarantine really got me nostalgic for shit i never ever experienced. oh my god

UGH i completely get that

having done these things, i can tell you that usually they are better in concept than execution (cheap beer is awful!! dudes in college are mostly awful too!! i’m not very good at rage cage!!! greek life is not generally great!!)  but suddenly take away the option to do it and i’m like WOW i would love to get fucked up in a kappa epsilon gamma basement right now

I think it'd be great if you did more blog posts about books you actually enjoyed! I follow you on Goodreads and enjoy seeing your updates and reviews there. If you're looking for a truly terrible book, The Gender Game by Bella Forrest is both badly written and badly thought out.

That one is actually on my potential snark list, though since it's a few years old there is again that question of relevance. But I'll consider it! The terfery of the premise sounds like there would be a lot to talk about.

For the Rivalship Thing!

I was kind of arguing with myself with how the timeline was going to work. I think the Kazuki Takahashi insta post says that Yugi won the contest for Spherium 4 years for post canon. But the way I have it in my story is that he wins the contest two years post canon, and reunites with Kaiba for the first time post-DSOD right after. He starts working at Kaiba Corp. at the beginning of the third year and the bulk of the story takes place during the third year as well as halfway through the 4th year. With the climax of the story being Yugi and Kaiba playing Spherium in space (spoilers I guess) in the middle of the 4th year.

I‘m decided to go with my way because I’ve already put do much work into the story I don’t really want to change it. 😆 Also it’s post-canon so that’s pretty much all just speculation anyway.

what word do you keep using like it’s going out of style?

I looove weird adverbs like “apparently,” “genuinely,” ”uncharacteristically“ etc.

I also use “just” a lot. I like to describe emotions as waves washing over characters all the time. I describe eyes widening in response to shock or horror.

And I enjoy using super-overextended-and-multi-hyphenated adjectives, like this 😆
