“Moon Eye, why are you so jumpy?” The man said leaning over Moon Eye’s shoulder. The girl jumped, leaning forward to, her heart nearly jumped out of her chest. She looked over her shoulder, seeing the man she was once trying to help. He smelled of alcohol. “Giant…how did you find me?” She asked, her voice was light. He moved closer to her, leaning towards her. His eyes looked dark as he leered at her. “You did not answer my question.” He said, his voice sounded agitated as he moved closer to her.
Moon Eye eyed the woods as she stood there, her body language showed she was scared. How could she not go into the sacred woods, she was a priestess. She was required to go in there, but she avoided going in there since that event. She had her father go in her place, she was shook to her core. Her father took her responsibilities when it was needed for her to go to the woods and retrieve things. But it was getting out of hand, her not doing her job completely. She took a deep breath before taking a step in.
The lecherous smile fell from his face as he came close to the girl. She tried to crawl away from the man. “Moonie where do you think you’re going?” He said stalking up on the girl. He looked her up and down, a creep of a smile grew on his face. “Do not run away from me. Come here!” He demanded. Fear grew on her face. “Giant…please….do not come any closer.” She said choked up. She heard him growl at her. “Stop trying to run away. You parade around here, smiles and flirting, but then run off. You are a tease.” He said lurching at the girl. Moon Eye jumped away from him, tears filling her eyes.
Flashbacks made Moon Eye start to tear up, she needed to get over it. She needed to find Giant too, he had been missing since that night. Her father chalked it up to the spirits taking him for coming into the Woods of the Dead with bad intentions. Moon Eye did not want him dead, he deserved to face a trial by the council for what he did. She also questioned it because she had not been able to summon his spirit, nor scry him, it was like he dropped off the side of the island and that puzzled her. She felt like this was her fault. She took pence in speaking less, being softer, fasted, refused to do anything to her hair but merely comb it, wore plainer clothes. She slept on a mat, she confessed her sin to the spirits facing the moon, praying more.
She got on her feet, wiping her face off as she took off running. She heard him hit his hand on the ground before chasing after her, deeper into the woods. No matter how much she ran, he was gaining on her. Moon Eye thought she lost him as she looked around. She began trying to climb up the tree, hoping that if she got far enough, the fog could hide her. But there he was, grabbing her by her hair, yanking her down into his arms. His hand went over her mouth, he knew the tribe might not be able to hear her scream, but there was always someone roaming the island. His hand then went to her chest, feeling her chest. She felt so repulsed hearing him groan in her ear. She wrapped her hands around his arms trying to pull him off, but that just infuriated him even more, squeezing her face. She thought the way her tears was hitting his hand that he would get an idea, but he was apathetic to her tears. She focus on the energy around them. Moon Eye began mouthing “Lam.” Repeatedly. His hold on her face and body began to weaken and she was able to break free. To simply be free of his hold was not enough, she was scared and angry. She focused on the energy around them, an orb formed at her hands throwing it at Giant, his head hit the ground then she took off, running back to the village.
She reached out to the tree, she could feel the ki humming in the trees. She tried to slow her breathing before she gave herself a heart attacked. She took a deep breath, taking in the calm air. The location was serene and she could see why it was sacred, but it was like that dark memory kept trying to keep her tied to the ground. She wiped the tears from her eyes. Moon Eye tried to force that memory down and away. She needed it to go away, maybe then the guilt she felt too would go away. With her nerves on end and in such a place, she felt powerful here. She could also sense someone’s aura around her. “Show yourself.” She said calmly, her voice was soft. She did not feel comfortable with people popping up on her anymore, she wanted whoever it was to come out. She felt her nerves all standing up and ready to run if any danger was to come.
