curious and curiouser ;
“marriage, what a curious thing.”
her words seem to drift off, a twinge of melancholy dripping from each syllable. it was once a dream for seora to get married. that was all she ever wanted when she was younger. to fall in love in such a way that would knock her off her feet. to marry the man of her dreams. perhaps even create a family of her own, one that was filled with nothing but the essence of love itself.
but fate was a cruel thing.
there was a time in her life when she was in love. a time when she was certain that she would get her happy ending. the man of her dreams was certainly going to be hers. there was no one that could deny her of that. no one but the king.
and then came the jealousy. the feelings that grasped her in its thin finger and refused to let her go. but seora could not harbor those feelings for long. it was wrong. especially when they were targeted towards her sisters.
it seemed unfair, really. to have these marriages forced upon her siblings when she was more than willing to get married. but now, she had the belief that she was never going to get married. and while she would never admit it, it bothered her greatly.
a small sigh slips past the confines of her lips, her slender fingers gripping her cup. “do you ever wish to be married?”
