AWFUL !   am   i   awful ,   truly ?   am   i   foul ,   am   i   vile ,   do   i   smell   to   you   like   the   blood   of   the   children   your   kind   could   not   save ?   when   you   look   at   me ,   wizard ,   do   you   see   a   man   or   a   monster ?   think   of   him   ravenous ,   think   of   him   drooling ,   think   of   him   with   his   maw   buried   in   the   guts   of   the   dead .   think   of   him   with   dried   blood   on   his   skin ,   think   of   him   devouring   a   corpse   raw   and   know   that   one   day ,   it   will   be   you   in   its   place .   ‘ i   don’t   need   any   consolation   from   the   likes   of   you ,   snape , ’   he   rasps ,   anger   sullen   in   his   yellow   eyes .   AWFUL !   that’s   a   start .   next   time ,   it   better   be   TERRIFYING .

lucius glances at his younger friend, taking in the lithe frame of severus snape.  he has made a point to maintain their friendship even after he graduated from hogwarts. . .  and this has led them to an interesting position: here and now.  “i can tell you all you’d like about him.  if that is what you desire.”  perhaps he should be more welcoming, but lucius has lived under the dark lord’s . . . care . . .  for a few years now.  he knows terror he feels sometimes.  it is not easy.  and abraxas makes everything harder.  ( he will kill that man. )
