hello! I would like to apply as a merch artis but i've got some questions: first, would merch artists be responsible for manufacturing the merch or would they only be responsible for submitting the design? and second I do not yet have any merch portfolios, so for the application is it alright to just link the same document of my regular art portfolio? thank you!

All manufacturing is handled by the mods! No worries.

Regular art portfolio’s should be fine, if you believe it portrays the style you’ll be using for merchandise! 

example: if your portfolio is full of huge painted backgrounds but you want to make a charm, it’s harder for us to gauge if your style will be fit

 Oooh, star is where I get to pick one I want to talk about, right? 

Ok, so I gotta pick my Robin Hood AU, because it’s way too fun and also its origins are entirely dumb. I was watching that new Robin Hood movie and on the whole not sure whether I loved or hated it--in the end, we’re gonna go with ambivalence with a side of appreciation of aesthetic, even if that aesthetic is. Weird. And at the same time, I was in the middle of reading a bunch of fics that were medieval fantasy AUs, and I was just like “oh shit I wanna write something like this. What if Robin Hood but gay?” 

And the weirdest part of this fic is, I wrote the entire first half of chapter 1 (okay maybe it’s more like the first third), up until Matt gives Shiro his name, not knowing whether I wanted this fic to be shatt or sheith. Mostly because Keith would make a really goddamn good Robin Hood, but also I like shatt better. So it’s Shatt now!

Overall tho, the most fun thing about this fic is the writing style, because I get to pull out all the dramatique fantasy language and really just get my inner period romance novel writer hat on. 

BUT! the tragic thing about writing in this very fancy style was that I couldn’t have Matt make a joke along the lines of, “you seem like you have a little bit of rebel in you. No? Well, do you want some?” because it just didn’t fit and it’s so sad. It’s almost there, but it’s just "It seems you might have a little rebellion in you after all." instead. 

Oh, also, when I switch back and forth between writing this AU and other fic, I accidentally write “Matthew” instead of “Matt” in stuff where nobody ever calls him Matthew. 

Also, the 2nd chapter is SO CLOSE TO FINISHED!!!
