Today I tried to sew the "Classic Shell Top" from the "Sewing Bee - The Modern Wardrobe" book. I really like the way the patterns and methods are explained and I learned a lot while I was sewing it. This is the first time I actually made something with darts and I am fairly happy how they turned out. However, I should have chosen a size smaller (or in general learn to measure myself correctly :) But it was quite cheap fabric so it was perfect as a learning piece.

Love this leotard! 

I made it DIY during lockdown <3 

Not too difficult - 5 steps basically:

#1: Make a pattern - derived from a standard leotard

#2: cut the fabric - I used snake like foiled fabric :)

#3: serge it - serging is indeed the fastest way to connect pieces together but a sewing machine does the trick too!

#4: hem it: I don’t posess a cover stitch machine so I did it with an ordinary sewing machine :)

#5: Be a snake! - Love it!
