Whoops That was the second one I've bent today. I think I was trying to go too fast. I just want to make as many masks as I can, for obvious reasons. I decided it would be best to take a break for a while and make banana nut bread. It's been in the oven for a half hour now and the entire house smells amazing. It's a new recipe and I can't wait to try it. Don't worry I'll be posting pictures soon. Help Needed Does anybody out there know how I fix this? I messed up the tension and it's not helping. I wouldn't ask but I'm trying to make masks for people and I really need this machine to work. When I can't sleep at night I prefer to be busy. Often I head into the sewing room and make something. Last night was one of those nights so I would like to introduce Oswald the beanbag frog. As you can tell from the look on his face Oswald is just over it. All of it. He's also sick of my shit and will likely stay that way. It's all good though, he doesn't really talk much so although he's a bit grumpy he keeps it to himself. Mostly. I also made another poppet doll styled after a certain tangerine toddler. It'll be ok, really. Last but not least I made some chick pins that will likely go to the grandkids. I think they turned out super cute. I might be tired today but at least I created a few things. Just a couple more things I've made recently. First there's the bunny poppet, I think I'm going to name him Bluebell. It just feels right. Next is a bun warmer I made to fit my basket and keep the rolls for Christmas dinner from getting cold. No one wants cold buns. The corners fold over to cover the top. I don't think they're half bad, especially since I was totally winging it on both. I can't even express how much I am enjoying having a space to sew again. I've missed it so much. The only problem is I have to set an alarm if I have anything else to do because I get sucked into my project and the next thing I know it's late and I've gotten nothing else done. Oh well that's just the way it is now, it'll be fine. I'm so excited about this I just had to share. Being mostly a self taught seamstress I've always had this irrational fear of zippers. Not using them, but sewing with them. They seemed so fiddly and I don't like to fail. Material is expensive and some projects take a lot of work. Those are excuses, I know it, you know it. So tonight I finally grabbed some scrap material and sat down and figured it out. As usual the worrying about it was way worse than the doing. In this project at least it was pretty straight forward and easy. It's just a little reusable snack/sandwich bag but it's still useful and I'm happy with it. Right next to it is one I bought, I won't be doing that anymore. I used the measurements from the one I bought to make my own. I'll definitely be making more of these. I have some adorable fabric just waiting for it. I'm telling ya, it's the little things y'all.
