Evelyn - 8 Months

Feeding

Evelyn is still a fussy little eater, she doesn’t particularly enjoy trying new foods but she doesn’t mind being spoon fed so much. She tried macaroni cheese they other day and she actually really liked it. I will keep trying to introduce her to new foods. She’s still very little so I’m not too worried about her being a bit of a fussy eater. She still takes bottles four times a day. She has a feed upon waking, one about 11am, another about 2:30pm, another at 5:30 and one at night at bedtime. She also has three solid meals per day. Below eating pureed sweet potato.

Sleeping

Evelyn tends to sleep between 11-12 hours a night. She still wakes for a feed and a nappy change about 2-3am. She is still a good sleeper. Her bedtime is 8pm. She has started to show signs that she is going to drop her third nap soon as she doesn’t have one everyday. Her first nap is at 9:30am, her second nap is at 1:30pm and if she has a third it will be about 4-5pm.

Growth and Development

Evelyn currently weighs 15lb 13oz and is 26 1/2 inches in length. She is still 3-6 month clothing.

She’s a full fledged crawler and never stops crawling about. She loves being on the move. She can sit up for about ten minutes and is starting to play with toys whilst sitting. She also loves rolling around the floor.

She has just about mastered holding a two handled sippy cup and is now learning to drink from it whilst holding it. I think watching JJ makes her more determined.

She loves toys that make noise and light up and toys she can tap. She’s always imitating noises and babbling away.

Several weeks ago she cut two teeth on her bottom gum. Unfortunately she is a biter. She bit JJ, who cried for what like seemed a lifetime and Sean when gave her some bonjela.

JJ - Six Weeks

So this update was supposed to be at one month but with moving it just kept getting postponed. I’ve finally had time to sit down and do this. As of now JJ is six weeks and four days old. I can’t believe he’s nearly seven weeks already!

Feeding

JJ has a fairly solid feeding regime. His first is at around 6:30am. He then feeds around every three hours until 10pm. Sometimes he feeds more often but we’re settling in a routine. In the last week or so he has been feeding a little more due to the head. At night he wakes around every two and half hours to feed. During the day he usually feeds for about 12-15 minutes and during the night he feeds for about 10 minutes per feed.

Sleeping

JJ sleeps around 12-16 hours out of a 24 period. After his feed at 6:30 he is usually awake for around an hour to an hour and a half. He then sleeps for up to three hours before waking for his next feed. He is usually awake for about two hours after this. He then feeds and goes back to sleep. In the afternoon his sleeping pattern varies a lot more. We try do bedtime around 7:30 but sometimes he won’t fall asleep for up to three hours. He no longer sleeps in the moses basket as he has out grown it. He now sleeps in the Monte Rockwell Bassinet. He had no problem switching over and has plenty of room to wriggle about and grow.

Growth and Development

JJ has just had his first little grow spurt. We’re not quite out of newborn babygros and onesies yet but I thin another week and we’ll be in 0-3 month babygros and onsies. We’ll have to go shopping I think! He’s up two pounds since his birth. He was 8lb 6oz at birth and now weighs in at 10lb 6oz. He’s my special big boy!

His neck is starting to grow stronger and he can hold his head up for four or five seconds which is great, especially during tummy time. Initially he just laid with his head to the side or rested on his chin now he can lift his head up for a short period of time.

We haven’t quite had his first proper smile yet but I’m sure we’ll get there soon. Anywhere up to twelve weeks is a normal age range. He kind of gives a funny smile when he’s pooping but it isn’t a proper smile. I can’t wait to see it. I just remember how happy I was when I saw Milena’s first proper smile.

His hands aren’t clenched very much now and is little legs are getting less hunched up everyday. Now his legs are almost straight we can see how much he’s growing. Please stay little baby!

Justin James - Eight Weeks

JJ is eight weeks old already. He’s growing so fast just like his sister. He changes everyday. His personality is developing and I can’t wait to find out what he’ll be like when he’s older.

Feeding

He feeds about six to seven times a day. He always feeds before bedtime which is around 8 - 9pm then feeds around 2 - 3am then again at six am. He then feeds around 10 am, 2pm and 6pm. Sometimes he feeds again, especially if it’s very hot. He usually feeds for around twelve minutes per feed. He occasionally falls asleep on the boob. If he does that at bedtime it is wonderful. I do have be careful when I lay him in his bassinet so that I don’t wake him.

Sleeping

His sleeping pattern is still a bit all over the place. He is still sleeping between 14 to 16 hours a day. However during his periods of wakefulness he is more alert now. We have managed to get him to be asleep by about 10:30am now. He sleeps for about 3 hours before waking for a feed then goes back to sleep until around six am. He is usually awake until around 10am. He then sleeps for two or three hours then wakes up. He feeds and is awake for around an hour to an hour an half. After this nap, naps tend to vary.

Growth and Development

JJ is offically in 0-3 month clothing! I’m so proud. He’s also now in size one diapers. Oh my he is no longer a newborn. He now weighs 11lb 13oz. He is noticeably heavier to hold now!

He can now hold his head up for nearly ten seconds when he is on his mat during tummy time. He loves tummy. We starting to put simple toys on his playmat now. He is starting to track things that around him, especially our faces.

Milena often gets down on his mat with him, which he loves. She will put toys in front of him or wave things around in front of his eyes. I love when they fall asleep together on the mat.

He’s cooing and gurgling a lot now. I love hearing his baby noises. The only one I don’t like is his screaming. But he doesn’t scream very often so that’s ok. We’re still waiting for his first smile but we’re still in the normal age range

His legs are now fully straightened out the majority of the time and his hands are clenched less now. He kicks legs around in an uncontrolled, jerky manner and flings his arms about too. I love his little baby movements.

Also, on another note we got a new pram. It’s the Trailz by Stokke. We sold the old one and the SimaSima Duo Glider (as we weren’t using it) and were able to afford this new one. It will take JJ from being a little baby to a toddler. It comes with a bassinet, toddler seat and a car seat. The car seat and toddler seat haven’t arrived yet. It is beautiful and JJ already loves it. We haven’t taken it out for a walk yet but it only arrived yesterday and it took Sean a while to put it together. I love it so much. It’s so nice to have a single stroller that we’ve bought and that will last. I can’t wait to take it out and test it. I’ll probably review it soon.

[01.26.2016] Day for prove the foods!

Hi guys! How're you? I hope that you're fine! As I said in the last post, we went for prove the foods, yay! I was so excited for it, since it had lot of food and omg, it was all delicious! We invited some friends for go with us, we invited Becky, Pietro, Zaila, Alex, Fer and Alice, and also, me and Jhonny decided to pick our goddaughters Alice and Louise and take them with us, since we didn't saw them from a loooooong time! When we arrived, I stayed so enchanted with the local! It was so cute, and looked like a magic local haha! And when we entered, the style was so beautiful! It have a old style, and it's so charming! I just loved it! A few moments later, the waiters went with the salty food for us! We proved everything and omg it was so good! I loved everything, the entrace was amazing! I stayed in love with the salty menu, and when they came with candies, my heart almost stopped lol! For people that don't know, I have a love for candies and chocolates, and pies LOL I just love sugary things! After we finished the to prove, I need to take a pic and say thanks for our amazing cook and buffet owner Laura! She is amazing, and do amazing foods! And also, she is Jhonny's godmother haha! After all, we leave the twins at Del's house, and went to home. Jasminne went falling asleep, but Chris waked up when we arrived at home. I passed all the rest of the afternoon with him in the backyard, while Jhonny worked in his Macbook in the living room and take care of Jasminne.
