➕1️⃣ to my queen cosplay collection! Bethlehem from @alchemystars_en is my latest cosplay and possibly the 9th or 10th queen I have dressed up as 😂 Swipe for some progress pics on how I made this costume, especially the top skirt part! The trick to getting the shape was yo use a heavy fabric on the outer layer and a very very light lining, then iron the heck out of it! Most of the adornments are trims from my @cosplayfabrics line, available in @joann_stores! Yes, even the blue gems are cut up from a trim! Another fun fact is that I repurposed my retired Emma Frost costume for parts of this cosplay, such as the feathers on my arms, the bodice and the arm warmers! It saved me a ton of time and I was able to reuse an old costume so win win! Have you reused costumes to make new ones before? It’a so satisfying, right? TGIF! Seriously...this has been a week. But one bright point was scoring this lemur fabric! I've been making various kinds of bags for friends who gave me more fabric than I needed to make them masks from. Now I get to make a bag for me. Super simple rolled hem tutorial for you! I'm not the most experienced seamstress, but I'm self-taught and somehow manage! 😂 Wanted to share this for everyone who's asked for more sewing tips.⁣ ⁣ Mine ended up a bit wider than I wanted, closer to 3/16" when I intended 1/8". The fabric I used is a slippery Chiffon, and will be for a sheer tunic-dress- thing for Venusaur. Chiffon is a notoriously finicky and difficult to work with fabric, but sometimes that's what ya need for your cosplay!⁣ ⁣ A rolled hem is possibly the most standard way to hem this material.
