I am now trying to figure out if CAIR actively denies the Armenian, Assyrian, and Greek genocides, or just ignores them as much as possible and hopes nobody calls them on it.

Either way, absolutely ridiculous. How can you claim to be for promoting American-Islamic relations and then do nothing to encourage relations between Muslim Americans and Americans belonging to historically oppressed MENA minorities?

Anyway if anyone has any good sources let me know.

The Genocide

Today marks an important part of many Orthodox Christian’s history: the destruction of culture, faith and families. Most people don’t know about it, but some know it as the Greek or Pontic genocide, while others know it as the Armenian genocide or Assyrian/Syriac genocide (also known as Sayfo/Seyfo). There were systematical massacres, deportations and take overs of villages in Turkey where, roughly estimated, 3 million people died. For many people, today marks the 105th anniversary of the Genocide. This is however currently denied by the Turkish government, which is why it’s not well known. However, the stories live on and get passed down generation to generation as a reminder of the Orthodox Christian’s suffering. And this is why I stand today in solidarity with my Orthodox Christian brothers and sisters.

So happy that the US finally recognized the genocide on Christians! It’s about time.
