Homebuyers Workshops with the SFHDC
A recipient of the San Francisco Bay Guardian's Local Hero Award, attorney Julian Davis has contributed his time and experience to a number of nonprofit organizations, small businesses, and government agencies throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. From 2006 to 2011, Julian Davis served on the board of directors of the San Francisco Housing Development Corporation. The San Francisco Housing Development Corporation (SFHDC) provides regular opportunities for aspiring homeowners to learn about qualifying for and buying a house and for individuals to learn more about the San Francisco rental market. These include three workshops held monthly: the First Time Homebuyers Workshop, the Rental Readiness Workshop, and the Your Credit Matters Workshop. At the SFHDC's First Time Homebuyers Workshop, participants learn about the potential benefits of owning a home and the process of buying a home. The SFHDC also provides information about how to receive down-payment assistance from government agencies and what is required to qualify for below-market-rate homes, among other topics. The San Francisco Housing Development Corporation also offers individual counseling. For more information about the workshops or about the organization, visit www.sfhdc.org.
