hello sfth fandom! inspired by the sfth murder mystery ( @phantombegruvia ), the sfth hunger games ( @milk-is-stable ), and the upcoming hipronpa ( @nickythehickey ) [apologies if any of you didn't want to be tagged], I am making my own randomised fic!
this will be a fic revolving around blood on the clocktower, a social deduction (re: werewolf / mafia) game I LOVE! a full explanation of the game is under the cut as it's. long.
as such, I am leaving you to suggest sfth characters in the comments or reblogs! there's a maximum of twenty, so suggest as many as you like :D though some characters I may select on my own, as I already have my thoughts about this. preferably no patreon characters - I have it, but I don't want anybody who doesn't to be left out.
botc explanation, (if you cba to read, the tldr is complex werewolf) vvv
botc is a social deduction game centered around two goals:
> everybody can play, even when dead
> everybody has a special ability to add complexity
there are two teams: good and evil. on good, there are townsfolk (good players who assist good), and outsiders (good players who hinder good). for evil, there are minions (evil players who hinder good and assist the demon), and the demon (who kills at night and must stay alive)
the game ends when the demon is killed (good wins) or if the demon is one of two remaining players (evil wins).
two phases: night and day. at night, the demon kills, minions enact most abilities, and townsfolk (mostly) gain information. during day, players can go off in groups for private conversations, where they can try and find the demon - later, everybody is called to the town square, where nominations, then executions, occur.
if dead, you lose your ability, so powerful good players may want to lie about what they are to learn more information! when dead, you can't nominate and you only have one vote for the rest of the game. you can still speak though, a core difference between this game and most other social deduction.
anyways that's a tldr. you can look up botc wiki for more info, or ask me any questions, I am MORE than happy to answer.
okay finally back on my sfth botc shit and have a question for the masses
point of view? (explanations below)
1. uninteractive, everything planned
2. interactive, as a townsfolk
3. interactive, as an outsider
4. interactive, as a minion
5. interactive, as the demon

explanations of what. any of this means lmao below cut
note: this WILL be a one pov fic as the game functions better that way (as opposed to things like the sfthmm where there are no mechanical aspects) but I may eventually write alternate versions if y'all want it
good players have a mystery to solve - evil ones do not. keep this in mind.
1. pretty straightforward. in this pov it will be guaranteed y'all are only in the viewpoint of a townsfolk (see below) - this does however allow me to plan the whole story in advance
quick explanation of botc here :3
2. interactive (YOU GUYS can influence the plot) - you will be a townsfolk, meaning you are on the good team AND get mechanical information about the game (i.e neither of those next to you are evil, the last player executed was ___) to help you solve it
3. again, interactive, and you are an outsider. this is also on the good team, however you will not gain mechanical information and instead hinder the good team from winning
4. interactive, as a minion - you are evil. you are not the core of the game, you aid your demon (the next point) and mess with the good players in order to win.
5. interactive, as the demon. you are evil. you are the only demon. you are the core of the game. if you die without a minion who lets you come back to life, the game will be over. this is the most high-risk choice, but you can also decide who dies at night and get three characters to pretend to be.
...i hope this makes sense-
as a note to those who know the game, i'm not including travellers despite a size 20 game because of exile and the fact that it removes them completely from the game
