So, if SG Prowl is basically Starscream, wouldn't that make Skids and Getaway, Skywarp and Thundercracker?
Hmm... I think that as far as just mirroring the placement of characters, it works- but their dynamic is very, very different.
Basic overview on how I see their characters- Prowl is the mastermind behind their operations. SG! turns the moral ambiguity and manipulation tactics of his character up to the max. He's the Machiavellian monster pulling the strings behind the scenes
...More so than usual, that is.
Meanwhile, with Skids and Getaway, it's similar to their Lost Light dynamics. Skids is the grunt- not to say that he isn't intelligent, because he absolutely is! But he doesn't question Prowl, or the Autobot regime at all. He does what he's told, and he does it well.
And then Getaway. He's, for a lack of a better word, the mole. The Decepticon sympathizer. The traitor, working right under Prowl's nose.
See, the whole point of their trio is a game of cat and mouse. It's a psychological thriller, as Getaway tries to smuggle as much information to the Cons as possible without getting himself killed; or, knowing Prowl, much, much worse.
Does Prowl know Getaway's a mole? Hell, does Skids? Is he being watched, is he being fed false information? Is Getaway's entire operation just another cog in Prowl's big machine? Every god damn thought Getaway has; for all he knows it's been filed, saved, and documented 10 solar cycles before he's even thought it. That's Prowl for you.
These are all valid questions. These are all very valid questions that Getaway would very much like to have answered. Unfortunately, they won't be.
Not until he's dead or free.
Getaway's in too deep, and the name of the game is Paranoia.
